Israeli soldiers ARE in their own country, you fool! Check out the location of Ben Gurion International Airport.
32. ISrael should DEMAND clarification on why one of its citizen
Marie ,   Italy   (04.16.12)
is in Israel breaking the law!
33. Danish Foreign Minister Wants Explanation
Chaim G ,   Marblehead USA   (04.16.12)
Please tell the foreign minister of the Danish hotbed of anti-Semitism that we'll get back to him after he can provide assurances that Jews can travel freely in Denmark without fear of attack. When Jews are told not to wear Jewish indicia in Amsterdam because they areliely to be attacked, the Danish foreign minister can ask for all the explanations he wants. Tell him to keep his rabid dogs at home and they will be safe from us.
34. No sympathy for the little creep
Joe ,   TLV, Israel   (04.16.12)
Seriously, if you walk up to a soldier or any kind of law enforcement official, anywhere in the world, and you provoke him the way this stupid kid provoked the IDF, your day is not going to end well. Pull a trick like that on a US Marine, and you'll be in an orange boiler suit for the rest of your life. Do it to a British soldier and you'd be lucky to live long enough to see the inside of Abu Ghraib. Let's have some perspective here.

37. Bias
Professor Z ,   Jerusalem   (04.16.12)
Although I admittedly can't prove it, I feel safe positing that a large number (dare I even say 'the majority?') of the "talkbackers" here who either defended Mr. Eisner or held judgment would not have been so judicious had this been a clip of a Danish soldier assaulting an Israeli protester...
38. #1 it was in the occupied WB, Check out the video

39. Danish Minister
vinni gambini ,   bensonhurst, usa   (04.16.12)
Your citizen was granted a visa, he was not granted permission to demonstrate. That's the explanation. YOU SATISFIED?
40. #37 What a stupid comment
Yossef   (04.16.12)
have you seen many israeli demonstrating in Denmark, or wherever else about local politics ?
41. The "activist" broke the soldier's hand
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (04.16.12)
The whole story is not being told. The IDF not "attack" a gang of innocent bicyclers protesting peacefully. They provoked the IDF for 2 hours & the Dane that was hit had broken the soldier's hand with a stick moments before, something that was obviously edited & hidden.
42. #29 #35 IS MEANT FOR YOU
DA URBAN POET ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (04.16.12)
43. The IDF was filming
BH ,   Iowa   (04.16.12)
but the camera's battery went dead an hour before the soldier was attacked.
44. I saw the interview with this Dan on TV.
Eric... ,   Israel...   (04.16.12)
The guy is a anti-Semite,we should send him back too his country, let him protest there. His lucky that he is not going back too Denmark with false teeth.
45. Cause and Effect
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (04.16.12)
Any violence in the State of Israel and Judea and Samaria/The West Bank shoul not be tolerated, however if the anarchist activists had not been so provocative Col. Shalom Eisner would not have been in that situation. If the police and soldiers were also being taunted it is a real problem. This anti-protestor action is entirely different in scale to a terrorist attack, murder, rape or act of domestic violence. These ISM activists should also remember that when visiting other lands one should be respectful. Many young activists who visit the Middle East to protest are not always aware of all of the issues. It can be problematic to be a philosophical novice in a complex space.
46. To nr 37
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.16.12)
And how many Jews/Israelis go to Denmark to protest against Denmark's right to exist and exercise force and violence against Danish soldiers and Danish police officers? Danish police officers have no reason to use violence against Israelis since they don't attack Danish police officers. Danish police officers have the right to exercise violence and force against criminals of all ethnicities and nationalities - Israelis/Jews included. But since Israeli tourists in Denmark usually go shopping and stay at hotels I don't see why Danish police officers should use violence for that reason. Israelis/Jews have no tendency of attacking other people's national rights nor denying or erasing their history (as pro-"Palestinian" "protestors" do here in Israel and abroad - they claim we occupy a non existent nation/people called "Palestinians" , deny 4000 years of Jewish history in Israel and their chants of "free Palestine" means in plain English "destroy Israel and replace it with Palestine/Arabs/Moslems") nor burning their flags or attacking their ethnic and national identities. Why would Israelis/Jews attack Danish police officers?

48. Danish Anarchists
Cheryl ,   Chicago, IL USA   (04.16.12)
You wanna come to Israel and start more trouble? We support what Lt. Col Eisner did and there's more where that came from!
49. Will the apologies never end?
MIke Caton ,   USA   (04.16.12)
Yet another apology from the Israel Ministry of Apologies. Every apology weakens Israel.
50. Good lesson to the Danish anti-semite!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (04.16.12)
The idiot had been provoking the IDF soldier for over two hours before the poor soldier lost it. Who wouldn't? Just put yourself in the place of this soldier; how would you react? And the Danish minister has the hutzpa of asking for explanations! This was an obvious manipulation by a bunch of Israel and Jew haters to obtain some video to be used in the anti-Israel PR war. If the Danish minister does not want to see this, then he is also a f... anti-semite!
51. real activists
merle ,   usa   (04.17.12)
...would choose a different location around the globe and see how that works out for them.
52. #37 Rubbish. Where's the missing footage?
Scott ,   Australia   (04.17.12)
As others have pointed out - the incident occurs only 16 seconds into the video. This very suspicious. If an Israeli was involved in similar incident in Denmark ; would they set him up the same way? Commenters here would definitely condemn disrepectful and unlawful behavior if proven. The Danish citizen came to Israel to defy and confront. The camera clearly shows him refusing to follow directives. That is not even excused in my country where unfortunate incidents like this have occurred from time to time.
53. 37 Professor
Edwin ,   Canada   (04.17.12)
You are dead wrong. I am neither Jewish nor Israeli and have no bias either way. However, the scenarios you quote do not equate. A Danish soldier is hardly under the same stressful conditions as an Israeli on the front lines against ruthless enemies. Nevertheless, I was outraged sufficiently to write to the Danish Mission in Israel voicing my concerns with their apparent misplaced compassion for one of their own.
54. jews are regularly attacked in Europe for doing nothing
bernard ross   (04.17.12)
55. Official Time Line-of incident
froike ,   NY NY   (04.17.12)
1) Leftist European (Danish) dirt bags enter Israel on false pretenses. Hence, they are in Israel illegally!! 2) Leftist Dirt bags enter controlled zone and are warned politely by the IDF to move back. 3) Leftist Dirt Bags provoke IDF Troops and defy a lawful order to move back and disburse. Some use physical force against IDF Troops. 4) Spoiled Brat Danish Scumbag gets clocked with an M-16, by an IDF Lt. Colonel who was doing what he was ordered to do. 5) Danish Scumbucket gets arrested.
56. Eisner has created a work of art which clearly and
bernard ross   (04.17.12)
succinctly expresses what many feel about europe
57. He's not an "activist"
Reuven   (04.17.12)
He's an anti-Semitic terrorist supporter.
58. I never saw
daniela ,   panama   (04.17.12)
any European police force use feathers when controlling multitudes, and protesters. Any person that comes to another country against the will of the host country should be held responsible for anything that happens to him. As when a robber or a killer comes to your house uninvited he should expect to be received accordingly. Well done IDF. Just an advice.. next time bring your own cameras too and record every piece of the ¨non violent¨protest these Europeans come for.
59. #s 40, 46, 53
Professor Z ,   Jerusalem   (04.17.12)
I sincerely regret the unfortunate fact that you all appear to have missed my point. I should have been more clear. I will clarify. Obviously the two scenarios are not the same; I did not intend for you to envision a Dane assaulting an Israeli in the current world situation with all of its varied factors. Allow me to rephrase myself: "...the talkbackers who defended Mr. Eisner or reserved judgment would not have been so judicious if they were born-and-raised Danes themselves. Forgive me for the ambiguity.
60. Denmark Seek Clarifications from Israel...
Cheryl ,   Chicago, IL USA   (04.17.12)
ISRAEL seeks clarifications from Denmark why they sent these anarchists as a set-up and were already filming as they were egging on and harassing an IDF Lt. Col. - creating a hostile and tense situation and filming a Danish anarchist taunting an IDF Lt. Col. - while filming a set-up?
