2. Eisner Only Did What Needed To Be Done
emanon ,   USA   (04.20.12)
He did not shoot anyone, he did not stab any one he did not trow a hand grenade or detonate a bomb in their midst. He met the challenge to authority with appropriate force to get message across. Unlike what an arab would have done.
3. Disgusting. I believe his hand was hurt ...
AQ ,   Jerusalem   (04.20.12)
... from hitting many activists!!
4. All I see...
Naor ,   USA   (04.20.12)
Is a man with a broken finger doing his best to defend his state from hooligans who are distracting the IDF from its operational duties in Judea and Samaria, duties that keep innocent Israelis alive.
5. Damn
Mark ,   Brooklyn   (04.20.12)
Damn,,,,,, he worster than the soup Nazi on Seinfeld.
6. i dont understand...
zorn ,   o zorn   (04.20.12)
...why cant foreigners provoke soldiers in a war zone with impunity? oh the humanity!
7. Eisner i stand with you.
Mosskyboy ,   London   (04.20.12)
I salute and respect you Eisner and think its disgusting that you have been relieved of your duties. These so called 'peace' activists intention was to clearly provoke and cause a reaction with the view of creating PR that can be used by the world's israel haters. as far as i am concerned that Danish scumbag got what he deserved. G-d bless you Eisner
8. He's my hero even more now! Thanks.
Ben Yisrael ,   Tel Aviv   (04.20.12)
9. he is no hero
Yael ,   Canada   (04.20.12)
assaulting unarmed civilian who had both hands empty and downward and who showed no intention to strike is the most coward thing a soldier can do. he got rightfully dismissed
10. Eisner investigated for conduct unbecoming an officer
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (04.20.12)
And that is the crux of the situation.
11. Operative words
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.20.12)
"... activists started after anarchist hurt officer with his bicycle ..." Okay, so it was these "peaceful" and "humanitarian" activists who are at fault. Now we know. Why are we punishing a decorated Lieutenant Colonel in the IDF when it is clear that the "activists" (whom I call terrorists) are at fault for precipitating the confrontation? In any other country, their provocation would have been met with live fire. A bit of advantage-taking here, counting on the IDF to act with principles and morals, and Lieutenant Colonel Eisner is paying the price.
12. Why was anarchist who injured IDF officer not arrested?
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (04.20.12)
This directly refutes the "protestors" claim of no violence. Furthermore, their blocking of the road with bicycles is not consistend with "just out for a nice bike ride". They were out to cause an incident. Eisner did the right thing. He is owed an apology by Barak and Peres. Why is Barak giving video crews of the International Solidarity Movement terrorist group a free license to film military sites in the Jordan Valley? Does the US or NATO allow Taliban videographers to make bicycle tours on military roads in Afganistan?
13. sick biased reporting
dirty shirt ,   usa   (04.20.12)
If ynet wasn't the left wing rag that it is. If the protesters were settlers or haredim, this headline would read: "VIDEO SHOWS THAT PROTESTERS STARTED PROVOCATION" Or "SOLDIER WAS REACTING TO PROTESTERS VIOLENCE".
14. Knock, knock...
Z ,   Israel   (04.20.12)
"Who's there?" M16! Well done Eisner. You did your duty and we stand with you. These foreigners who have no understanding about anything would have had a much harder time standing up for any type of right in any Arab nation. Eisner performed his duty and performed it well.
15. Eisner video - Amazing!
Annette ,   Tel Aviv   (04.20.12)
Your writer Elior Levi obviously saw the video you posted here, but from the article he wrote, it sounds like he's blind, deaf, dumb or determined to twist things to fit his view. His article described Israeli soldiers "violent" reaction and made it sound like they really battered those poor, peaceful protesters. But what the video showed was a gang of foreign "protesters" determined to provocate, who did not follow orders, and who seemed ready for real violence (on their part!) because they knew Israeli soldiers would not shoot (as our Arab neighbors would undoubtedly have done.). Then I saw Eisner pushing them back. This was evidently when he used the butt of his gun on the "peaceful" Dane. A country hjas the right to stop foreign protesters with an agenda like these anarchists have from invading its sovereign space. And if we cannot support our soldiers' after having made the unforgiveable mistake of letting these people in in the first place, we might as well pack up and go back to Europe (Denmark maybe???) or wherever. Eisner may have lost his patience, but our dumb government sacrifices not only its, and our, honor, but also our welfare. May G-d save us from ourselves.
16. EISNER MELECH ISRAEL!!!!
MO   (04.20.12)
17. Police and Soldiers in Gush Katif and Migron must worse!
Riva   (04.20.12)
SO BIG DEAL! One can easily see that this was no peaceful protest!! These protesters were provoking, disobedient and violent. It is obvious. Checking other videos of senarios like this, police can be seen being a lot more violent! esp. with regard to what happened in Gush Katif and Migron (where babies, pregnant women and children were dumped out of their homes in the middle of the very cold night at gunpoint and some people abused! i doubt the little babies were being violent! Yet, did any of these police or soldiers get thrown out or humiliated in the way Eisner is suffering!) Like many Israelis, i am disgusted that a guy puts himself on the line to be in the IDF, an officer and with a Kipa! We cannot imagine how hard he had to work, how much self-sacrifice and suffering he had to endure to attain his position, and then in one instant of difficultly where he handles it the best he can, even the PM and President are quick to dismiss all his misert nesfesh! What ever happened to being loyal to the corp, standing behind each other in defense in such matters!!! What does this say to other soldiers? if you work hard and reach a top position, know that you'll be screwed the minute you do something which doesn't look good in the eyes of the world, and everyone you know will just stab you in the back and forget everything you have already done! Unless we undo this diaster to Eisner, we are creating an even bigger diaster for the people of Israel and the future of our IDF!
18. Eisner Ha'Gever? Bichlal Loh.
Baruch Norman ,   Bayit Vegan   (04.20.12)
All the biyuv pouring out about what a hero Eisner was, that he was provoked, that the ISM are terrorists - they are dangerously misguided - that dismissing him sends the wrong message, was exactly that, biyuv. I'm surprised Eisner wasn't reduced to the ranks after a court martial. He got off very lightly for one who our Chief of Staff describes as culpable of operational failures. Or is the Chief of Staff another 'lefty traitor'? Don't be surprised if Eisner, unapologetically acts the victim and quits the IDF. And is all of this to be ignored because the source of the latest footage is Palestinian TV? Oh well...here come the usual suspects...
19. Do you know.....
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (04.20.12)
that I've seen riot police over here do much, much worse? And richly deserved, too, I might add. No-one in the media or parliament spoke against it. Not that it makes any matter. Colonel Eisner is probably done for now, as we all know.
20. More selectively edited videos
Ilan   (04.20.12)
According to published testimony there was rock throwing by the Palestinians and foreign supporters prior to the army acting. Where are those videos? An incomplete truth is not the truth, it is a lie.
21. What I see
Marcel ,   Nyc   (04.20.12)
Is more like a situation where in other countries the riot police shows up with water trucks etc. Israel only has a handful officers yelling and punching to fix the illegal demonstration by foreigners ... I hope that this Danish provocative keeps a fat lip forever Still a pity that Eisner lost his cool
22. This guy should not be doing policing work
Rod ,   Apiacajl, WV   (04.20.12)
I understand the dislike for the activists. However, this soldier has no place doing the kind of work he was assigned to do. He is clearly a hardened thug with a killer instinct. The person he slammed with the gun was unarmed and not expecting the sucker slam he got. That was wrong. Eisner has no business policing civilians. This is a guy you want on a chain until a real war starts, then put him on the front lines where civility and morality do not matter.
23. Eisner must be extradited to Palestine
Victory Spiegel ,   Switzerland   (04.20.12)
it is the only possibility to clear this matter. The honest Palestinian court will know exactly hat to do.
24. They got what they deserved - troublemakers find trouble
AB ,   TheRock   (04.20.12)
Each should have gotten a good kick in the pants - if they had the strength to still scream 'free palestine' they didn't get enough. Why don't they go to Syria and protest against the carnage there?Because they don't believe in anything. These guys are a bunch of losers who want to get on camera. And this is the easiest way. Nebs, a bunch of nebs that's all. And if Eisner wouldn't have taken the stand he did - they would have had to put up with them and their stupid act all day. Who can put up with idiots like these. Just seeing them on camera makes me puke.
25. I saw photos and tapes at Amona
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (04.20.12)
I saw 13 -16 sitting in homes brutally beaten,i saw young girls being groped again between 14 and 17 having their breasts groped and hands shoved under their dresses.I saw a group of people including a former Res.Gen being trampled by mounted police amongst that group were children.
26. Biased Reporting
Joe Sombrero ,   USA   (04.20.12)
Obviously Biased Reporting where is the British Government Funded B'Tselem when Jews are hurt by Palis and Activist.
27. #18
Ram ,   London   (04.20.12)
I can understand your post but find it "selective" of you. There is a limit to what any security force should withstand without reaction. Whether Eisner is guilty or not should be subject to a thorough investigation. Judging him from a "selected" clip does not present justice. What the IDF should have done is conduct an open investigation and act according to a conclusive outcome. Having the PM and IDF chief immediately blame Eisner does not demonstrate justice but a pandering to the hostile world. It cannot be easy having to face determined, known to be hostile crowds, that don't fear you because they know that people such as Solidarity and Betzelem will automatically back them. These activists are brazen, confrontational and fearless, thanks to their apologists. Spare a thought for those who risk their lives in order to protect your.
28. VIVA EISNER. SHAME ON YNET THE FAR-LEFTIST MEDIA
(04.20.12)
29. Eisner for PM !
(04.20.12)
30. It’s a shame
Jeff ,   S.A.   (04.20.12)
that our soldiers are being left alone against a provocative bunch of so called peace activist, without the proper riot gear ( water cannons etc.) as used all over the world. They have to stand face to face with aggressive hooligans and keep their cool, while being attacked, cursed and insulted. And now the brass is playing the moralists for leaving their soldiers with such bad conditions. The Israeli army is still morally the best army in the world.
