31. How to treat them
David Ashley ,   Modiin, Israel   (04.23.12)
I know, I know! Treat them like, say, Jewish youth trying to settle a hill or place like Migron or Amona. Yeah! That'll stop them in their tracks and they won't come back.
32. #29. I totally disagree with your method of approach.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.23.12)
Tolerance will encourage more provocateurs and more extreme behaviour. You think Israel is an European football stadium or what. You think Israel must provide entertainment for foreign scum? Furthermore, babysitting these idle misfits is a thankless job. There are enough issues in their own countries for them to protest. Failing that, let them go and protest where there are really serious human rights issues - like Syria, Tibet, Somalia, Sudan and so many other African countries.
33. Great article!
Rivkah F. ,   Jerusalem   (04.23.12)
Thank you Tal Dror for answering questions which I have been asking myself for quite some time. You are an astute observer of society and I hope you'll write more interesting articles. The frisson that these Euro-fellow travelers get from supporting the Palestinians while enjoying the good life is like the "radical chic" of the sixties in the U.S. with a contemporary twist.
34. Nice start
EZ   (04.24.12)
But still missing some of the major points: 1. Who is actually behind the movements that send 20 year old Danish kids to Israel? These kids do not do this on their own. There is a well orchestrated movement trying to get this type of stuff to happen for over 2 decades. Who is funding it? 2. Why is the much bigger story of anti-semitism in Arab countries (that often leads to violence among Arab immigrants to Europe against Jews) getting no activists? Why wouldn't a Swedish activist demonstrate against the violence against Swedish Jews by Swedish Muslims?
35. Shoot first, ask questions later
Nurit Greenger ,   USA   (04.23.12)
The theory is that the government of Israel, along its anti Jews policy, who are [mis]managing the country allow these creeps in, in order to show Israelis that compared with them Ehud Barak is just fine. It is a matter of moving the goal posts by using the EU creeps as an examples…and that is the reason for those items to be allowed in and be treated with kid gloves instead of bashing their faces with a gun handle.
36. #29 - GR
Devorah   (04.24.12)
I disagree. Let these disruptive misfits work out their issues on their own turf. As you said, Israel has enough problems as it is.
37. #29. Cut the pious sermon, please
Tom ,   USA   (04.24.12)
In every single country if a foreigner on a tourist visa starts rioting or causes mayhem, engages in violent political protest, the police would beat the sh* out of him/her. You know it too but here you like to disgorge the pious, pusillanimous peacenik crap for attention. Kids? What kids? These scum are well trained anarcho-communist legally adults who take advantage of the Israeli police pussycat mentality. Try to challenge the public order in Berlin, N.Y. Moscow..etc. and wonder what's going to happen to you.
38. What a load of crap How about
ben   (04.24.12)
Emily Henochowitcz.. or any of the many victims of the most moral army in world.[ as long as the world is a petry dish] What a load of crap. How bout Tom Hundel or the UK James Miller. Unbelevable. Yeah if you say the rite thinks your a hero. If you have va conciouns and speak out like Sophie Scholl then watch out.
39. Grand Artical
Ron ,   OC US   (04.24.12)
40. Fabulous article
Hannah AKA ,   Ross-on-Wye   (04.24.12)
It really is that simple.
41. Bravo!
Mette Thomsen ,   Ă…rhus, Denmark   (04.24.12)
Tal Dror has put it right where it belongs. My compliments as a Dane!
42. A pro-Palestinian activist told me recently
Imshin ,   Tel Aviv   (04.24.12)
that he was really upset and offended about how the Israelis in the coffee shops in Jerusalem were so nice to him until he told them what he was doing here. He just couldn't understand it. He's so nice and they are so unappreciative.
43. @ 32, 36, 37...Freedom to disagree....
GR ,   London   (04.24.12)
Ok, you guys disagree with me - fine. I'm not going to hit you, or have you arrested....we live in a free society - an open society. Through the last 500 years, Open Societies have triumphed consistently over Closed Societies. That Israel is an Open Society is her strength....we are not weak like and Syria or Iran, who are scared of dissent. And, Tom in the USA - don't you ever accuse me of "pusillanimous peacenik " crap. You don't know who I am. I'm pissed off that a senior officer in the IDF was sent to chase unarmed Danish brats around, instead of doing something useful like taking out Hamas terrorists, or training to destroy Hezbollah the next time we hear a peep out of them. And, claiming that these kids 'are well trained anarcho-communists" - come on dude, grow up....you've just read a whole article about how they are actually just spoiled poseurs, too scared to go somewhere like Russia. Let them come and spend their money in Israel, it's good for the economy. Israel forever, Strong, free, and open!!
44. GR lies!
gelb   (04.24.12)
Open your mouth only after you read the eye-opening revelations about many of these terrorist-supporters and pro-Hamas "activists" by Lee Kaplan, American journalist who did severe undercover investigation abouut them. Many of them are even outright accomplices to terror. nothing more needs to be said, your nonsense is BS.
45. Muhammad Abu Shahala
Anna ,   Montreal, Canada   (04.24.12)
I want to hear the reaction of the leftists on the death sentence for him for selling land to Jews. Would they help to save this man's life? It's maybe not late. You can find the news on Daily Mail website.
46. Very great article !
Frederic Touitou ,   Le Pecq - France   (04.24.12)
Actually, one of the most relevant article I've ever read (and I read a lot of articles about the same subject, for many years!). Congratulation, really!
47. Nonsensical Brit, #13
Michael ,   Jerusalem   (04.24.12)
Maybe if you weren't so blinded by pro-Palestinian propaganda you would see that human rights are respected.
48. peace activism is like wearing a Che Guevara t shirt
zionist forever   (04.24.12)
For students and left wingers its very fashionable to support a lost cause show you have the courage to fight the system. Once it was protest against capitalism or nuclear weapons and you can give yourself a pat on the back and say look how fashionable and brave I am for trying to fight the system. Look at Israel since the social justice campaigns, now every time leftists think something it unfair its a matter of social justice. When it was announced Strauss chocolate was cheaper in the US than Israel there were protestors with banners demanding prices be reduced in the name of social justice because its very fashionable to be pro social justice right now in Israel and to treat the rich as cruel oppressors. In the west its very fashionable to be anti Israel. You carry a banner saying end the occupation, or take part in mass fly ins and hey your a hero of the revolution. Once you have done your bit for the revolution though you can go out with your friends drinking and discussing the football. Nobody is going to protest in Syria because its not fashionable like being anti israel is and your likely to get killed rather than deported for your heroics.
49. #38 - Tom Hundel, the photojournalist who entered a war zone
William ,   Israel   (04.24.12)
was carrying a telephoto lens, was not clearly marked as a journalist, and pointed it directly at soldiers under fire during dusk hours? That Tom Hundel?
50. #38 - is that all you can come up with?
William ,   Israel   (04.24.12)
Over a period of 10 years, you have a handful of "casualties" - many due to their own mistakes or false sense of security that was cited among other Lefties in this article. In any one country of the Arab Spring, you can find a handful of journalist casualties in a period of only one week. Oh, I get it. Because Israel is a democracy and has a moral army (and Jewish), that makes them a target while the Arabs who are a despotic racist group, admit it so it has your blessing. Is that about right?
51. #48 - when Tibet became unfashionable..
William ,   Israel   (04.24.12)
and even dangerous support for their freedom dwindled to nothing. Did anything change in the lives of Tibetans? Yes - they're now more oppressed than ever, Beijing demands the right to choose the next Dali Lama (even though they denounce the Tibetan culture and send Han Chinese immigrants in to dilute Tibetan culture). The fact remains - Leftists go where it is safe, where it's popular, and where there is money. They never do it to help the actual people else they never would have stopped aiding the Tibetans. They're the highest form of selfishness.
52. Yes indeed
YL ,   New Orleans   (04.25.12)
It's European jingoism plain and simple.
53. No, 13, your post is nonsensical
Stanley T ,   Toronto Canada   (04.25.12)
Talk about a non-sequitor! You know the old saying about "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it."? You just provedit.
54. Of course, the same applies to journalists
Mark ,   USA   (04.27.12)
i.e. they prefer the comforts of Israel and fear retribution by its enemies for any unfavorable reporting.
55. Mazzel tov, I knew that 10 years ago
Esther ,   Netherlands   (04.28.12)
56. So what is the answer, just allow them to get away with it...
jarred Stone ,   London UK   (10.31.12)
Isn't it time to read them the riot act,and act with the force that these ferals deserve.Ignore public opinion, every one else does.
57. They are not "peace activsits", they are human shields
Lee Kaplan ,   Berkeley, USA   (11.01.12)
Tal Dror's article is good but lends legitimacy to these creeps who call themselves peace activists when they are in fact human shields. The ISM manuals tell them to use this ruse and it even worked with Dror. Peace activists don't take sides. These clowns want to aid the terror groups and boast about it back in the USA, They want to de-legitimize Israel and end its existence as a Jewish state. Their motto is "by any means necessary." Tal, wake up and smell the coffee. This is a new form of war on the Jews and the Arabs are making hay with it. Visit StoptheISM.com .
