He was cognizant of the fact that there was a problem before the Arab attack commenced. Had he shot them after they failed to obey his orders to desist from approaching, he would not have been injured. However, fear of being imprisoned prohibits IDF soldiers from adequately protecting themselves in legitimate acts of self defense. Our soldiers are not permitted to act preemptively despite correct intuitive feelings and have to wait for the attack to actually commence. Brave soldier but a needless injury.

in todays world he might have been brought up on charges for murder and attempted murder because he shot at them whilst fleeing the crime-scene......Thank God the suicidal liberals found something else to play with. WTG chayal, thats how it should be only pity is you didnt shoot them dead as they were approaching you after you ordered them to stop. You would have been in your right to do so imho. But then with the courts in Israel today a victim may have to wait to be murdered before he can "react"......
