1. and Arafat would've made a fine addition to that gathering
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.24.12)
in Chicago, oy vey!! Since he is a total failure in everything that matters (and an antisemite too) no wonder he will cling to this self-image as a "Man of Peace": it's so easy to sell and people are always ready to buy it! Just like our own, dear Shimon P: he'll go (eventually?) to his grave clutching the binoculars that enabled him to see that brave New Middle East.....
2. This um, man who put the Ayatollahs in power should be quiet
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (04.24.12)
3. Could you please just leave the stage.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (04.24.12)
Hide somewhere please. Taking Hitler out before hand ....would not have been a just war either. Pr-emption is just not right in this pacifists mind. He'd rather have millions slaughtered before he has to do something about it.
4. At least we know why Mr. Carter was a one-term president.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (04.24.12)
5. More BLA-BLA-BLA from an old fool!
Armand ,   Los Angeles, USA   (04.24.12)
6. War with Iran will bring with it in its aftermath the destru
Rivkah   (04.24.12)
ction of the USA according to Daniel in Scriptures since the USA must be the notable horn in its final an complete fulfillment. So delaying war with Iran is best for the sake of America which will be divided into four parts after that war. A way to get HaShem to shield Israel and America from attack is to get right with HaShem.
7. Who cares what Carter of all people thinks?
Rachel ,   US   (04.24.12)
Americans don't listen to this clown. Israelis definitely should not.
8. Why print this?
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (04.24.12)
Jimmy Carter, his policies and his presidency was an abject failure. He is the last person one should ever take advice from, unless one does the opposite. His posture towards Israel and Jew's is unfavorable, and his affinity to the Palestinians is public knowledge. Why then give this failure of a man his soapbox?
9. Jimmy Carter
Roxy ,   Israel   (04.24.12)
Loser,he caused America to get into the situation it is in now, he was a weak president that allowed Iran to become the terrorist nation that it is now! He should have supported the Shah, and not allowed American to be held hostage!
10. Carter: The Guy Who Really Blew It With Iran
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (04.24.12)
It was on his watch that the revolution happened, and that Americans were held hostage by the Iranians. Forget all ofhis other screw-ups: Iran was the mother of them all, the legacy for which he will be remembered.
11. Carter and Graas,
Steven ,   Rockville, MD. USA   (04.24.12)
Carter one of the few failed US presidents has tin ears, and he never registered the threats of Iran's president. Maybe Carter and Guenter Grass the other Nobel Prize winner angling for a second Nobel Prize.for Peace. They might succeed, knowing the brainless Norwagian lefty jury members,
12. Thankfully, the decision is not yours to make, Carter
Cameron ,   USA   (04.24.12)
Doubtful as I am about Obama, I would rather have him weighing the pros & cons of that heavy leap than you.
13. Nice sentiment to express
Jeremy ,   Chicago, USA   (04.24.12)
Jimmy, but a cogent geopolitical opinion will not make up for decades of a totally biased, seemingly deleriously anti-Israel public life. You lost legitimacy when you sided w/ Arab terrorism against am yisroel.
14. the village idiot just won't shut up; thinks he's Dalai Lama
rick ,   walnut creek   (04.24.12)
carter has been a consistent apologist for the racist, aggressive, obscurantist, dictatorial regime in gaza. more than once, I have heard carter declare that he knows that hamas is willing to live in peace with Israel. shortly after each of carter's grand pronouncements, his friends in gaza annouce their position and, in the process, show that carter is a deluded old fool. he has a malignant obsession with Israel.
15. Iran
Ralph ,   Caesarea   (04.24.12)
What is happening in Iran is Carter faultm he was enable to drive US,
16. Carter doesn't have it!!
(04.24.12)
Courage to do the right thing. He screwed up then and is still screwing up. Life requires stepping up and doing the right thing and some times doing the right thing means going to war. Iran is threatening the entire world and the world has no choice but to fight or die. Because if the world doesn't stand up to Iran, Iran will kill anyone who is not a practicing Muslim. http://emunadate.blogspot.com/2011/02/iranium.html
17. Carter already discredited.
Paul ,   Liverpool UK   (04.24.12)
No one can take Carter seriously, just read "The case against Israels enemies", the first chapter proves without a doubt why .
18. Worst US president of all times
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (04.24.12)
Why this man is not silent, after his catastrophic official years ? Soviet invasion of Afganistan, the Iran counter revolution, Israel's blackmail with Sinai and many more tragic acts on his dark, anti jewish soul. He gave back the Holy Hungarian Crown to communists, now owned by pseudo nazis.
19. Time for the antisemite Carter to SHUT UP !
who cares   (04.24.12)
20. Carter
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.24.12)
Ah, yes. Of COURSE I will pay attention to what that idiot has to say about anything. When he isn't busy publishing diatribes against Israel, this former president spends his time penning that world class best-seller, "The Little Baby Snoogle Fleejer." Once a peanut, always a peanut. Most of us remember his half-baked attempt to rescue the hostages in Iran in an attempt to win re-election. Carter needs to shut up, and focus on his nuts. That's about the extent of his contributions to American history. That and, of course, the Snoogle Fleejer. Whatever that is. And we're supposed to take this joker seriously?
21. To: Istvan at No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.24.12)
Actually, he is vying with Hussein Obama for that dubious "distinction."
22. @12 Cameron, about Obama and the heavy leap.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (04.24.12)
Left to himself he would leap right into the lap of the Ayatollahs. Wouldn't you be tempted if you grew up as a Muslim in Indonesia?
23. No preventive war?
Jerusalem Jew ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.24.12)
Maybe Carter prefers Iran to nuke Israel first and THEN we can wage war against Iran?!?
24. A PUZZLEMENT
David ,   New York, NY   (04.24.12)
Why a respected and serious newspaper like Yediot frequently plays the role of publisher of last resort truly defies explanation. In this instance, for example, Carter is no longer relevant even IN HIS OWN COUNTRY.
25. Carter is the last guy to give advice . . .
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (04.24.12)
Numero Uno...he is ANTISEMITIC and 100% against Israel. Next...his records on Iran are CATASTROPHIC !
26. The focus is shifting
Tim ,   Brighton   (04.24.12)
to Iran and North Korea The failed Rocket Launch..showed to the whole world a group of Non Koreans of Mid East appearence in Green Coats inspecting the Rocket Pre Launch. Who were they Ahmadinejad seems to be desperate to prop up N Korea with aid. The last shipment with reportedly 'food aid' was highly suspicious Reports seem to indicate that Ahmadinejad has 'sub contracted' his nuclear testing to N Korea to divert attention from the nuclear work going on in Iran If these Rockets are indeed a clandestine 'joint venture' then Ahmadinejad YET AGAIN has grossly miscalculated Because if found to be true then Ahmadinejad would be seen to have treacherously betrayed Japan and South Korea and indeed China to support N Korea in its nuclear ambitions and so compromise their security The anger felt in political quarters in Japan South Korea and now even in China against Ahmadinejad and his regime for this betrayal to put it mildly are palpable And when countries in the region futher afield wake up to their vulnerability to long range rockets such as Indonesia, Vietnam...Ahmedinejad would have picked up a few more enemies for Iran along the way
27. Iranian leaders repeatedly demand Israel's destruction !
Jouko ,   Finland   (04.24.12)
Isn't that already a war declaration? That statement comes directly from Iranian leaders and again and again! Are the Iranian leaders just bluffing for fun? How can state-leaders bluff so often - how do you then know when they are serious and when bluffing? Aren't that kind of leaders very dangerous?
28. What if Soviet leaders repeatedly demanded USA's destruction
Jouko ,   Finland   (04.24.12)
29. Not so 'noble' peace prize winners.
Bad Assed Jew   (04.24.12)
Looks like not only Americans were fooled. " fool me once" become a one term prez. The cure, VOTE ROMNEY.
30. Makes for some high energy political theatre.
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (04.24.12)
and yet, for the wise, all eyes focus on Israel. Israel will not agree to the terms of her own death sentence due to the ignorance or anti semitism she has always known, be it from her old or new enemies. The land, israel, is the eternal possession of the Jewish people. It is their sacred duty to maintain, protect and to prevent all alarm with or without any one but herself.
