To #1: You cannot have either science or art or anything else unless you have a sound economy and enough money to pay for it. "There is no reason why the region shouldn’t develop like Israel has.” Unfortunately, there is a reason and the answer is quite obvious- it's fundamentalist Islam. If a discussion focuses, as it did recently in Egypt, for how many hours you can have intercourse with a dead spouse or to lower the marriageable age for girls to 14, you are not going to develop science. Our own fundamentalists, beside splitting hairs, are not developing anything either.
3. Yes, that is all true and nice, but where

are now all the intransigent anti-Semitic scum good-for-nothing Observer, Split and others? Why don't they jump now all in an ode of recognition for such great accomplishments? Their silence is like a disturbing hurl of an ocean. An ocean of despicable attitude.
4. This is great but why isnt all this hi-tec sold locally.. my

internet banking for one of Israelis biggest banks is so basic, yet the software Israel sells to overseas banks is so advanced, or the chip and pin, entering your pin to pay for goods, I have been asked sometimes to make some lines with a finger nail scrap on the check to pay for something.. ( I really dont understand this mindset sometimes.)..
5. Israel must and can become the worlds address for

her technology needs. Its too bad that Israels largest resource of young people namely the religious refuse or cannot partricipate in this great miracle. The control that certain wackjob 'Rabbis' have over these young people is frightening, frightening in the sense that they discourage them from seeking an advanced secular education or any secular education. It is maddening as well as sad that many young people in Israel are regulating themselves to a life of poverty and want. Yes its just too bloody bad.
6. # 2
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.29.12)
David you are correct. However, the law Egypt wants to bring in, is, how long after the death of a woman can her husband have sex with her. They say 6 hours (after her death) Totally disgusting, I must say.
