1. Israel is well on its way to becoming a very wealthy nation
Al   (04.28.12)
and that is no thanks to the present government. It is thanks to people who are smart courageous and willing to fly the world selling their ideas. Israel will be the worlds address for technology. Like I have said many times before...its too bloody bad that most religiious kids cannot partake in this great miracle. Their so called 'Rabbis' want to shield them from a secular education. They are relegating these klids to a life of poverty and want. That is criminal. If Israel had a government worth a damn they would mandate compulsory secular education in the primary subjects of Math English and sciences at the elementary and high school level and let these so called 'Rabbis' be damned. There is no dichotomy between being a practicing educated religious Jew and being a well educated one in a secular field. . I grew up in a yeshiva, went to university and graduated with a professional degree. I was never tiold by my Rabbis at the time that being a schnorrer and being poor was noble. Those Rabbis of old who taugh me were all great men, holocaust survivors each and everyone. They all understood the importance of being educated in a field that would enable one to survive as well as thrive. Those were Rabbis, today we have petz pretending to be Rabbis brainwashing the kids to be schnorrers and panhandlers. It is sad and maddening at the same time.
