about arriving in Israel...really instead of saying "Never again! Never Again" Ms. Silver could have closed with landing in Israel and a rousting "Am Israel Chai!" But ok she's really not writing to an Israeli audience she's writing to fund raise for FIDF and that is a very worthy cause.
2. Poland

My children visited Poland with their high school classes before they started their service in the IDF. I know there are many pros and cons to these trips, and I've heard them all, and agree with some of them on both sides. However, I highly recommend this trip even to nay-sayers. The preparatory course is excellent, and the trip to Poland with their friends, classmates, parents and teachers, was the experience of their lifetime. They'll never forget it. Sure, they've heard the stories, read the books, but nothing can compare to the experiences and emotions of this journey. And it sure doesn't hurt them to be reminded why they're devoting 3 years at least, of their lives to the army, when they feel like griping about anything!
3. Poland Visits
Peter ,   Warsaw, Poland   (04.29.12)
There needs to be a lot more visits to Poland by Jews. Separately, there also needs to be greater exchanges between the two countries. This is to create greater understanding, fight anti semitism in Poland, improve economic ties and make friends.

It seems you may not have gotten the spirit of the article. And that although you may have good reason to have written it your way, the author may have had good reason to write it her way. Your comment sounds like 'sour grapes', which doesn't belong here.

When I once landed at the Warsaw Airport, the arrivals hall was full of Israeli soldiers in uniform. I must say it felt a bit surreal. Usually, foreign troops on our soil are bad news.

Your country has had bad experiences with that. It must have been a strange sight to see. I would even find that strange here to see American or British soldiers in uniform at our airport.
