1. An honor well merited!
Alan - Mérida ,   Merida, Yucatan, Mex   (04.27.12)
Rabbi Jacobs indeed merits this high honor bestowed by Queen Beatrix on behalf of the people of the Netherlands. May he live, in health, 120 years!
2. Queen's birthday
Berk ,   Amsterdam, Holland   (04.28.12)
Queen Beatrix's birthday is actually on January 31. But Queensday is celebrated on April 30, birthday of her late mother Juliana. Therefore civilian awards are also provided end of April. The government decided to continue Queensday on April 30 because outdoor celebrations are not nice during a cold dark winterday.
3. Rabbi Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau
Rabbi Martin van den ,   Bet Shemesh   (04.28.12)
It is not correct that Rabbi Jacobs is the first Rabbi in Holland to receive this honour in Holland. My late grandfather Hama Salomon Rodrigues Pereira received it from the late Queen Juliana.
4. European Rabbis
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (04.29.12)
I hope this reflects more realistically on the Netherlands than the recent attempt to outlaw Shechita. Regarding the Order of the British Empire, recent recipients have included Rabbi Dr Chanon Tomlin formerly head of London's Haredi Yesodey Hatorah Boys School and Rev. Michael Binstock for his pastoral work within the prison service.

#3 are you a real rabbi or just pretending?
6. Corrections.

The IPOR covers all of the Netherlands EXCEPT for three Urban areas in Holland, so Holland is not such a good choice of words to describe where the IPOR is located.. It's Amstelveen, not Amtelveen.
