We're only trying to keep the barbarians out. Would you rather we simply killed them all? We've got the firepower to do that. Is that your preference? No? The perhaps you should keep your pious comments to yourself.
4. Interesting, the Arabs need not walls because Israelis don't
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.30.12)
shoot at them from across the border. But the Jews, only because they are Jewish, must protect their lives in the face of Muslim-Arab deadly aggression...!!

Speaking as a Prof. Emeritus in the field of Civil Engineering: You have made a common mistake in labeling it as a "cement wall" (see 2nd paragraph). Such a wall would be made of powder and would not ever work, obviously. "Cement" is added to aggregate (various sized rock) and sand, then mixed with water. A chemical reaction then occurs to create concrete, so in the real world' it should be called a "CONCRETE WALL." "Concrete" even sounds better, doesn't it? You know, something CONCRETE to defend the Northern Border? A wall made of powder would not last very long, now would it? That's something only a feeble pali or hezzi mentality would come up with, no? Otherwise, Mr. Maor Buchnik, Reuters reporter, thank you for a very informative and most welcome news article.

No other country would build so many walls. A civilized country would demand that Lebanon exercise her sovereignty on Kila village. If Lebanon admitted that Kila was not under Lebanese control, Israel would legally move in and declare Kila part of Israel.
8. "only because they are Jewish"
Palestinian ,   West Bank   (04.30.12)
its not because you are Jewish, its because you invaded our country, stole our lands, then falsified history and denied our very existence. We will fight until we get our birthright back whether you are Jewish, Muslim or Atheist.

Did you know that the UN, the world, Lebanon, the Arabs of Gaza, Judea, Samaria and Jordan violate international law every day? The San Remo treaty of 1920 (and also verified and confirmed by the Anglo-American treaty signed December 3rd 1924 in London UK) stipulated the borders of the Jewish state and the borders of the Jewish state were meant to be Cis-Jordan (including Jerusalem, Gaza, Judea, Samaria and Golan Heights), Trans-Jordan (Jordan) and SOUTHERN LEBANON UP UNTIL THE BEND OF THE LITANI RIVER. According to the San Remo treaty and the Anglo-American treaty - legally binding documents that the UN and the world violate EVERY DAY, these territories belong to Israel - including the "Lebanese" village that should be razed to the ground since it is an illegal Arab occupation city on Jewish land. And further more: the Doctrine of Estoppel is a principle used in international law and the Doctrine of Estoppel means that a country cannot violate a treaty they signed before. Examples: many decades ago, the world, including Norway, agreed that Greeland belongs to Denmark. Norway singed that treaty. Decades later the Norwegians claim Greenland - in direct violation of the Doctrine of Estoppel. Since the world agreed in the San Remo treaty of 1920 and the Anglo-American treaty of 1924, that the borders of the Jewish state would be Cis-Jordan, Trans-Jordan and southern Lebanon up until the bend of the Litani river and Jews would be given the freedom to live, settle down and build whereever they wish within that territory, and since the world and the UN now act contrary to previous legally binding agreements, the world, when it insists on keeping Jews/Israelis out of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Golan, Gaza, Jordan and southern Lebanon violate international law and violate the Doctrine of Estoppel. It is not Jews claiming these lands that violates international law. It is denying Jews the right to these lands that is a violation of international law.
12. To nr 1 - Are you an anti-Semite? Maybe a redundant question
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.01.12)
Building ghettoes is an Italian and a European speciality. There used to be a ghetto in Rome. Today, its a tourist attraction. Do not shirk responsibility for anti-Semitism in Europe. You cannot hide your hatred and racism against Jews. Not even spaghetti eating Italians. Israel is building no ghetto but protective walls to keep terrorists, mass murderers, despots, illegal immigrants and hostile armies and populations out. In the same way, the EU is constructing a wall in Greece to separate the EU from Turkey, there is a wall between USA and Mexico, between North and South Korea and between Turkey and Syria - as examples. Building a wall along your borders is perfectly legal. And protective and defensive walls enjoy overwhelming public support in Israel. Israel is not a city block or city district - it is a country. I have to say that I feel really disgusted by the recent wave of anti-Semitism in Italy. It's too bad that the demographic and economic decline in Italy and most European nations must always result in xenophobia, racism and anti-Semitism. It's really bad that Italians aren't smarter than that. Instead of hating Jews and Israel maybe you should take responsibility for your own actions and bring Italy back - instead of blaming others for your Italian failures.
13. To nr 8 - A few questions for the "Palestinian"
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.01.12)
1) Why is "Palestine" a Roman/Latin name? 2) Why is there no letter "p" in Arabic? 3) Nationalism is alien to Arabs who have, for 1400 years, lived as nomads and Beduins in multi-ethnic and multi-racial "Arab" empires whose majority population - locals, subjects, soldiers, mercenaries, scientists, mathematicians, physicians and merchants, were no ethnic Arabs, merely Arab speaking Persians, Kurds, Turks, Jews, Berbers and Africans. Why is that? 4) There is no "Palestine" in the Bible or the Koran. Why? 5) The Bible and the Koran BOTH admit that Israel is the Jewish homeland. How come? 6) Jewish/Israelite history started 2000 B.C.E in Israel - 4000 years ago. Arab history of the original Arabians, started in the 7th century C.E. 1400 years ago, in the southwestern corner of the Arabian peninsula, hundreds of kilometers away from Israel, 2600 years AFTER the start of Jewish civilization. How can Arabs be the "natives" of Israel? 7) Most Arabs arrived in Israel as recently as the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. How is that ancient history and how does that make "Palestinians" the "natives"? 8) When and where exactly did a "Palestinian" state, republic, nation state, kingdom, city state, duchy, principality or empire exist in recorded history, what are the names of kings and dynasties, cities, towns, villages and currency and why is there not a single ancient civilization mentioning anywhere any "Palestinian" state, civilization, nation or people?

Please explain -- exactly what country are you referring to? There's never been a country called "Palestine." You're a Jordanian citizen, and that is EXACTLY where we are going to send your sorry ass. You are the ones with the invented history; you are the ones who co-opted the identity as ersatz "Palestinians" when everyone knows that the only TRUE Palestinians were the Jews. You invented yourselves in 1964, and no one's buying it. They may pay you a little lip service now and again, but do you remember the humiliation you received at the hands of the United Nations just last fall? Your birthright -- to the extent nomadic Bedouin tribes HAVE any -- is the Hejaz in the Western Arabian desert. Go take your case to the Saudis. Get the hell out of Medinat Israel. We have absolutely no use for violent terrorists.

Yes of course your land, how can we forget. What about my family who where forced to leave the very nice hospitality of your your brothers and cousins. It was as nice as your Syrian brothers and cousins treating there own people today. At least now we can defend ourselves. My 'friend' two words for you. NEVER AGAIN.
19. #8 B$it - It IS because they are Jewish
ltrail ,   USA   (05.01.12)
In 1948 when Jews returned to their Land, where were the so-called palestinians? They fled to Jordan-controlled territory of Israel (West Bank) to help fight the Jews. Jordan had no business being in east jerusalem, or Samaria, or Judea. You helped Jordan fight six wars and lost. Go get a new life and work hard. Stop you hatred.

Macedonians north of Greece. I can't imagine who else you'd referring to with a description like that. Why did you pick Palestinian as your name rather than Greek though?
23. Not infiltrated???
Yoni ,   Dishon, Israel   (05.01.12)
It seems to me that the author has a disconnect with reality. If you lived here you would know that just last year a number of terrorists tried breaching the barriers and were shot or died trying to cross their own mine fields. Oh, the same author might have deemed them as protestors, not enemies of Israel. We can be sure that the anti-Israeli bias the press has shines through this article like a spotlight

Gee, Sarah and Co., can you name a single case in history (including the failed Great Wall in China, that ever really solved this problem? Ask Hadrian in Britain, the French with their Maginot Line,--how did that work out for them? Who is paying for this and what other programs are being cut to gain a short term domestic political advantage with the paranoid far right? We have them here, too, in the USA. Herman Cain thought it should be a wall that killed at a touch with moats and crocodiles. Nice company you kee, Sarah. BTW, Cain left the campaign in disgrace and is back to making Gangsta pizzas and giving motivational speeches to: anybody with a buck to spare.

28. #25 Gaza Strip and West Bank barrier
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.01.12)
Both security barriers have been very successful in reducing terror attacks against Israelis. They also deter the Palestinians from killing themselves. Putting up barriers to prevent terror attacks or drug smuggling related crime is not an example of paranoia.
