As for "fanatical ideologues," the former Shin Beth leader Diskin thinks that Bibii and Barak make decisions based on messianic feelings.
In contrast, as Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz told Haaretz, the Iranian leadership is very rational.
