1. Barak who only got 5% of the vote last time is DM
(05.02.12)
Surely now he will not get more than .05% which means he will hopefully be gone for good.
2. Barak will be the big looser and Lapid will become PM
Haim ,   TA   (05.02.12)
Guess all those years in his $26,000000 penthouse has put him not only out of touch with the Israeli public but also with reality.

Barak still hopes to get a few voters to believe his lies.He is maybe the most hated politicion and is a ptppet of obama. Fortunately BIBI does not follow to much of his advice,
4. Lost his self-respect
Hypocrite ,   Israel   (05.02.12)
I was a great admirer of Lapid but after reading in the newspaper that he hardly has a basic education, who later tried to BUY his Phd degree from the Bar Ilan University. If this man can stoop so low then he is not fit to be a leader of this great nation
5. Lech habayta Ehud!

I agree, hopefully Barak will lose the elections and emigrate to Washington DC where he is loved. But remember that Barak has been a disaster since 1982, with no successes and endless trail of failure and innocent blood. Despite this, and despite that Barak is an electoral liability, Netanyahu still put him as DM. Don't be surprised if Netanyahu puts him back as DM to do Israel even more damage,
7. Barak came with a record, all right
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.02.12)
Unfortunately for him (and fortunately for the future of the State of Israel), it hasn't been terribly impressive since his days in the Sayeret Matkal. That's an awfully long time ago. Can't think of anything sadder than a politician who finds himself without a job, not to mention a ministerial portfolio. Perhaps Barak can be made Stray Dogcatcher-in-Chief. May as well keep him busy. Give him a chance to excel at SOMETHING.
8. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.02.12)
Making Lapid prime minister would be about on par with the United States electing a peanut farmer president. But the U.S. learned nothing from that because in 2008, they elected a "community organizer" president. Still, Lapid will be pretty good with the teleprompter -- probably much less impressive without. Perhaps teleprompters should be banned from the campaign trail. Should be fun to watch Lapid perform without one. I'm guessing he won't be nearly as impressive.
9. To: Israel Israeli at No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.02.12)
No, keep Barak out the United States, please. Let him emigrate to Ramallah or Teheran, where they love him even more.
10. #8 sorry luv i beg to differ

Ever wondered why your not President ?
11. Of course the Independence Party will
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.02.12)
run alone. There won't be any voters running with them!
12. Barak is alot better qualified than Lapid could ever be
zionist forever   (05.02.12)
Barak was a lousy PM and at best an average DM but what does Lapid have to offer the country. In the army Barak was special forces and one of the most highly decorated soldiers in the history of the IDF. Yair Lapid spent his military service as a journalist. In civilian life Barak was a very successful businessman. Lapid was a journalist and a television host. In politics Barak worked his way up the Labor party ranks until he reached the post of PM & today he is DM and he was given that post because he was a soldier who knows a little bit about fighting wars. Lapid is going to enter politics for the first time with no experience but because he is famous and tells people useless things they want to hear like haredi bashing he is probably going to end up leading one of the largest parties and the result will be he enters the Knesset for the first time and is given a very senior ministry ( possibly even defense if Barak fails to get a single seat ). The man has no political experience or life experience outside the world of journalism but pretty soon he will probably be one of the most important men in the country. The sad thing is it relects the immaturity of Israeli voters if a rookie can end up leading one of the largest parties and the only reason most his supporters like him so much is because he is famous and he makes a few comments attacking the haredi.

I think Sarah B would make a great president. Yar Lapid though apart from journalism & tv presenting Yair Lapid has done nothing, he has no skills and he will sadly end up controlling one of the biggest parties in the Knesset and despite the fact he is a rookie will control one of the most senior ministries. The only reason most his supporters like Yair Lapid is he is famous and he says popular things like being anti haredi. The man is a talentless loser and with any luck he will be a one time wonder and next election he when the celebrity factor has worn off and he has had to do more than haredi bashing the public will see this and kick him out. VOTE SARAH B FOR PRESIDENT
14. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.02.12)
For starters, I wouldn't want the job. And it's "you're," not "your." Have you ever wondered why your are not president?
15. #13 your enthusiasm is very cute
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (05.03.12)
and curious - perhaps Lapid stole your girlfriend in 10th grade? I think, you deserve the Lifetime Achievement Award on the topic "Yair Lapid is useless". I want to assure you that most people on this forum are not a potential voter group. No way (even we want) to influence the elections. Furthermore, we also have our own opinion and information sources. So inflate the vuvuzela in Hebrew section of this site on this topic
