2. Meotti
Wulf ,   Ge   (05.03.12)
When you think you have reached the bottom of the sewer Meotti proves he can go deeper. Why is this hack Eytie jourmalist who is Persona non grata in the mainstream Italian press paid to write such racist drivel. Thats 3 op eds in a week each outdoing the next in unresearched mind boggling fantasy. Simply surrealistic
3. Meotti's an idiot

complications then shunning them as they smell of faeces and urine. Waiting for infidel Drs to fix it up.
6. Inaccurate, plain and simple
Mea   (05.03.12)
It is only in recent years that Israelis have abandoned hiding away the disabled. This article is clearly for the evangelical bleachers out there. Too bad it us simply untrue.
7. The disabled are not less fortunate than us.
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.03.12)
They do face different challenges, but they are certainly not less fortunate than others.
8. Correct and useful article.

Could I suggest you send it to Loon Watch. The NYT will auto delete it.
10. Youth with Down's Syndrome
Yonina ,   Israel   (05.03.12)
People with disabilities prefer to be know as such and not disabled people, because they are people first! So please do not use the phrase "Down people" or Down syndrome youth
11. Giulio, you are simply great! keep up the good work !
Daniela   (05.03.12)
and thanks.
12. True true true

mother ,   amman   (05.03.12)
i prefer if it is about the support of the disables mainly from the family it will be more preferable to any sociaty .. and a better work to human being .. it is about israil more than about these of people need the support
15. Many accomplishments, but still a long way to go ...
rivkah f. ,   jerusalem   (05.03.12)
While in comparison with other societies, Israel gets a high mark for its work with people with disabilities, we still have a long way to go. Many places are not accessible for those in wheel chairs. Too many people with disabilities do not work and many parents are in denial about their children's disabilities. But so much has happened for the good. Organizations like Yated, Alut, Akim, Micha, Shekel, etc. have contributed and continue to contribute to the welfare of people with a variety of disabilities and in the past decade there has been much greater awareness. Thanks, anyway.
16. Arab voices who understand what Israel can do
Savta Raizel ,   Brooklyn/Eilat   (05.03.12)
I would love for the critics to see this video: http://www.kerenmalki.org/Keren_Malki_5_Min_Video.htm It shows families who try to make best for their handicapped child. Includes one Arab family and I wish we could show it to more Arab families and their angry supporters.

From Germany? That's pretty telling... I'm surprised your 'zieger heiler' [sic] arm wasn't too tired to type.
18. Miracles in Action

If you want to see some of this in action, go visit Alyn Hospital in Jerusalem. They truly help each "disabled" child achieve personal miracles.
19. DEAR SAVTA

THIS IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE MUSLIMS. BETWEEN JEWS AND ARABS.
20. don't know about the rest, but Meotti is not accurate on FDR
Rafi ,   US   (05.03.12)
... Altho it was not routinely highlighted in photos, virtually everyone in the US knew FDR was crippled by polio. In fact some of the most iconic photos show FDR standing with his steel crutches. He strongly supported the March of Dimes polio foundation and frequently & openly visited the Warm Springs, Georgia for re-hab. so Mr Miotti what exactly are you referring to by saying "all photos show..." or the US public "never knew"...?

Nobody is forcing you to read Meotti's articles. Why dont you stick with your simple German news sites?
23. Wulf
jay ,   usa   (05.04.12)
Wulfie, I know it hurts you to read anything pro Israel. I know you are oh so politically correct and swear up and down that you are not a racist nor an anti semite, but you seem to have an inordinate fascination for Israel. Much like your poet laureate Mr. Grass or the Peace Studies professor. I understand your fixation with Israel is ONLY out of your humanist concern for the poor downtrodden Palestinians... but when was the last time you went to a rally for the Chechens, the Somalis, the Sudanese, the Chinese. You didn't, because you really don't care about these Untermensschen. Ah, but the Juden, them you care about. Wulfie, what did your father or grandfather do during the war?
24. I liked very much too.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (05.04.12)
I may desagree from Giulio Meotti, when he writes exaggerated articles about my Christian church and others. But the text above is excellent. Israel proves to the world her humanism and her good principles. Her many friends, like me, with joy and proud, say again: She will never be destroyed. God Almighty protects her people, and, also, all true Sons and Daughters of Abraham.
