3. Does he have bodyguards or is it a free-for-all?
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (05.04.12)
4. he & family are seriously disturbed, disgusting, pathetic
rick ,   walnut creek   (05.04.12)
we are nationalists and loath the defeatists, the cynics, the traitors, etc. at the same time, the murder of Y. Rabin a"h was a disaster for Israel. it was an offense against the people, against the state, and against G-d. how can anyone who pretends to be religious say that he is proud of his role in the conspiracy? a party for this creature? that is an outrage. the family should be ashamed of itself and is no different than the families of arab terrorists who celebrate their crimes.
5. Yigal Amir's life sentence
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.04.12)
Killing a politician is always a controversial matter. For instance - among dozens others - Gavrilo Princip was first sentenced for life ( he died in the prison ) but few years later he became a national hero. Streets were named after him and statues wereerected in Yugoslavia. I think Amir's sentence is exaggarated and must be reduced. He was motivated by the hundreds of victims of arab terror, after the Oslo Treaty. This circumstance has high significance, and a harsh sentence of 20 years in prison is enough, I think so.
6. Mazzaltov!
E. ,   Israel   (05.04.12)
And hopfully your brother Yigal will be released soon also!
7. The stupidity of Oslo killed thousands of Jews. He did far
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.04.12)
too much time in solitary, that was a worse crime than what he did.
8. Dispicable protesters!
tiki ,   belgium   (05.04.12)
Where those "protester also protesting when more than a 1000 Arab murderers with Jewish blood on their hands were freed or was their blood less important than that of Rabin?
9. Amir
Chaim Bernard ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (05.04.12)
it's simply disgusting to read the comments coming from a bunch or "yordim", or worse, little fascist Jews living in the diaspora for the breach of the 6th commanment. Izhak Rabin was OUR prime minister and has contributed infinitely more to OUR state than the 2 sociopathic murderers, or, for that matter, you in the diaspora
10. those who assassinated Sadat regretted it, Amir never does
observer ,   Egypt   (05.04.12)
Fervent religious settlers won't forget, won't forgive. in Judaism, there is only one or two verses to recite in time of illness, but there are hundred verses to recite on revenge.
11. #8 Tiki...I was also asking that question!!!
meghan ,   israel   (05.04.12)
of course they didnt protest. I dont condone murder of any kind and for Rabin to die this way wasnt a good day for Israel....it wasnt the way, even if we didnt agree with him. If these brothers can live with what they did then so be it and I am sure they will have plenty of supporters.
12. "Do not murder!"
Israeli 2   (05.04.12)
This was a murder! Whether we liked Rabin or not, whether he was left or right, these people murdered - There is no reason to commit a murder. To kill in self-defense, yes. But MURDER? No justification at all. It was an act of cowardice.
13. bleeding democracy
David ,   Frankfurt   (05.04.12)
"All the attention was because it was Yitzhak Rabin who was killed. If (the victim) had been a regular guy, he would have gotten completely different treatment." -- so much to democracy!
14. its a question of perspective
mark ,   israel   (05.04.12)
Many people feel its ok to kill in self defence. According to these two brothers they acted in self defence. They are heros in there own minds as they feel they were defending us the entire nation of israel. One can never actually condone such acts as its still murder. But we need to be carful when saying its ok to kill in self defence as its a fine line.
15. hagai amir

disgustng. why do we have to even see his picture in the newspaper????????????????

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.04.12)
It is perfectly alright to commit a killing in order to save oneself. Rabin would have carved Israel apart had he lived. He was seriously mentally ill, and always has been. Witness his near nervous breakdown during the Six-Day War. He also should have been criminally charged and imprisoned for having illegal bank accounts in the United States. Why was Rabin deemed to be above the law? Because he was supposedly a "hero" of the Six-Day War, when in truth he was overwhelmed and non-functional? He should have been discredited, imprisoned and allowed to fade off into richly-deserved obscurity. Instead, he is worshiped. Go figure.
17. Hagai Amir PROUID of his crime
gil ,   Tiberias, Israel   (05.04.12)
Hagai is a danger to the publik because he is proud of helping murder someonme. Our justice system has failed to protect us, the people.
18. Rabin should have left the "palestinian" leadership in exile
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.04.12)
his first (and possibly greatest) sin. All the rest it just stems from that.
19. Any way you look at him..U G L Y !!! inside & out

Con ,   Scandinavian   (05.04.12)
#10. bla bla bla. And how many verses are there in Islam? Thousands? It is funny how you try to talk down Judaism in a situation where the majority of Jews in Israel would like to keep Amir in solitary confinement forever. You see it is not only what is in the books it is what you do with it, OK. (This is really outside the issue here, but I feel that I must respond to your ignoramus babble): Actually BOTH Islam and Judaism has some pretty harsh rules and laws. As they are both tribalist Patriarchal religions from the beginning, but have evolved quite differently. If you are looking for forgive and forget you should primarily look to Christianity or even better pacifist Buddhism, but you are probably so obsessed with your anti-Jewishness that you do not even bother. If you are from Egypt I hope the Muslim Brotherhood has not yet burned all the "infidel" books of the new Alexandria library, so perhaps there is hope for you. Better luck next time!
21. Free Amir, Teitel, Pollard NOW!

Starting with Rabin's Jibril deal, and then later Sharon's Tennenbaum deal and Netanyahu's Shalit deal, the "justice system" failed. There is no justice, just a system to hurt weak criminals and strengthen strong criminals. But think of it this way: not the Arab murderers released by Rabin, Sharon and Netanyahu and not Amir (whose crime was less serious than murder) show any remorse. But unlike the Arabs who instantly become national heros with huge pensions, honors and respect, Amir will fade into oblivion, anonimity and poverty. The only problem is the Jewish Leftists who cheer with joy when Arab murderers are released who now put on a show of false indigantion when Amir is released after serving his full sentence.
23. happened a week and a half before the Six Day War
observer ,   Egypt   (05.04.12)
Without Rabin's nervous breakdown, none of the subsequent miracles could ever have taken place: the Israeli air force could not have destroyed the Egyptian, Jordanian and Iraqi air forces within eight hours had they been forbidden to strike. Israel needs miracles like that to survive.
24. To: No. 23
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.04.12)
Oh, get a grip. We destroyed the Egyptian Air Force in 1967 just as easily as we surrounded the Egyptian Third Army and cut off its supply lines in 1973, while Israeli troops crossed the Canal just as easily as we can destroy you today. Except it probably wouldn't take nearly as long today. If you pray really, REALLY hard to your false deity, maybe you'll last six hours. Don't fool yourself. A team of boy scouts could defeat the Egyptain military. You're just not all that good, and Israel is very, very good. Are you REALLY all that anxious to find out? Then bring it on, and learn just how inept you are and just how quickly you can be dispatched. And if we cross the Canal again, we aren't going back, understand?
25. #9 Whoa, Chaim...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (05.04.12)
I'm not condoning Rabin's murder but you're over-reacting a tad.. Mahalniks... Chaim.. Mahalniks? Without them do you think Israel would have made it through the War of Independence?
26. To: No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.04.12)
"Contribute?" How, pray tell? By divvying up the State of Israel, allowing mad dog terrorists to return and shaking the hand of the mad dog terrorist in chief? Shouldn't he have been imprisoned for maintaining bank accounts in the United States quite in contravention of Israeli law? "OUR" prime minister (Rabin) was mentally ill and completely incompetent. What part of that do you NOT understand?
27. Proud of murder?
(05.04.12)
What a cruel, evil thing to say after you are involved in a murder. He should have been sent right back to prison after he said that.
28. to Sarah the Bee, Israel's troops were entrapped in 1973
observer ,   Egypt   (05.04.12)
1-suez-cairo road was under the egyptians' control as there were full two divisions 16th mechanized and 4th armored repulsed any israeli forces tried to get closer to the road as the israeli commander who fought the war say. 2-the israeli forces were the forces entrapped as the rear of israeli wedge was under control of the egyptians as Sharon failed for three times to occupy Missouri, which dominated the heights north of the Great Bitter Lake, was important for keeping the yard and bridge out of Egyptian artillery range. Thus the israeli supply lines was under control of the egyptian armed forces. 3-the egyptian 3rd army didn't ever never got entrapped as there were egyptian forces controlling southern of the bitter lakes and was able to repulse the israeli for many times and thus the 3rd army entrapped the israeli not the israeli entrapped the egyptians . 4-Two egyptian divisions were assigned to repulse the israeli beside the egyptian 1st field army was behind them and didn't joined the battles yet. 5-It was estimated by Israelis that the 3rd army was 30000 man with 300 tanks and 300 artillery pieces. Sharon division lost most of its power and only less than 100 remained for him and Magen division was only 80 tanks. Adan was the one assigned for the main missions and engaged the main battles which is a fact while Sharon and Magen divisions weren't primary forces which means Adan's losses must be greater than Sharon and Magen divisions , and again less then 100 remained for sharon out of his division which is supposed to be 280 tanks , and less than 80 tanks remained for Magen out of his division which is supposed to be 380 tanks. so is it resonable that those israeli tanks less than 200 tanks were not able to surround an army with 300 tanks beside the 1st field army west of these israeli forces beside those two divisions 16th and 4th which was enntrapping the Israelis.
29. in 73, it was the nickle grass
observer ,   Egypt   (05.04.12)
Over 2,800 Israelis had been killed, at least 7,500 had been wounded, and some 500 had become POWs. If the US had experienced equivalent losses in the Vitnam war, it would have suffered 200,000 American dead. Israels needs miracles to survive.
