31. Arab countries are no match for Israel
Reza ,   Iran   (05.04.12)
On the subject of the murder of Rabin, murder is murder. If you cannot debate your differences and have to resort to such methods then all is lost. What will be the meaning of democracy. Reference to the comments about past wars with Israel. Israel was actually held back by the US, especially during the 73 war. Israel could have very easily occupied and held all of Egypt. No arab country is currently a match for Israel. People are bound to make silly comments. They seem to forget that Israel is nuclear power.
32. To: No. 28
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.04.12)
Really? Your scenario is entirely false. The Egyptian Third Army, which actually numbered some 300,000, not 30,000, did have its supply lines cut and were entirely encircled by Israeli troops -- talk about inept!). The Egyptians were extremely lucky that Jews are great humanitarians. We could have let all those luckless Egyptians starve and die of thirst in the desert. But we didn't, because we are not like you. By the way, if the Egyptian army was so powerful and valiant, and its air force so brilliant, would you mind explaining to me exactly how it is that Israeli troops crossed the Canal and were poised to march on Cairo with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING STANDING IN THEIR WAY? Nothing in the skies to stop them, either. Another thing: do you have any idea how many casualties Egypt sustained in the Yom Kippur War? I mean the REAL numbers, not the ones that the Egypt made public. Deaths in the seven figures, wounded in the eight figures. And you call that a "victory?" What do you think of the fact that the attack came on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar? Does that mean that Israel could attack any Arab or Moslem state on Ramadan or Eid, and it would be perfectly fine? No howling from the outraged Moslem community? What goes around, comes around. Never forget that.
33. Egypt Air Force
observer ,   Egypt   (05.04.12)
In Mansoura Air Battle on October 14, 1973, Israeli Air Force fighters attacking Egyptian air bases were intercepted by the Egyptian Air Force. On that day, 160 jet fighters, most belonging to Israel, battled for a record of 53 minutes over the Nile Delta town of Al-Mansoura. Despite the numerical and qualitative superiority of the Israeli warplanes, 18 Israeli planes were downed. The rest retreated. Egypt lost six planes, only three of which fell to Israeli fire. Some 800 years earlier, Louis IX of France was captured in the main Battle of Mansoura

Dear Sarah, Why waste your time arguing with such a person. Some people just cannot be reached. My uncles where high ranking officers in Iran's military during the time of Shah, and I know exactly what happened. Israeli intelligence services shared their lessons learned from that war with Iran's military back then, so this dumb dumb can mouth off all he wants. As you said, Israel used retrained during all of its conflicts, and that is a fact. I hope that someday soon Iran and Israel can be allies again. There are historical ties between Judaism, Iranian culture (pre-islam) and Zoroastrianism that goes back millenniums. I don't what to say any more. I'm an educated person and know the facts. Let's just leave it at that.
