1. Good idea to increase competition for
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.10.12)
us. Especially to a country like sweden that loves us so much. Maybe margalit can do the same for iran and syria?
2. This Helps Israel????
leo ,   nyc   (05.10.12)
Building competition to Israel is helpful? And as far as helping to change Swedish perceptions of Israel, I can only tell you from personal experience that Anti- Semites often seek out Jewish physicians for care and see no problem in doing so...
3. Israel doesnt use its own technology though.. for example..
elan ,   tel aviv   (05.10.12)
I have to go to a central government office to change my address, not online.. Chip and pin to pay for things with my credit card, instead of signing for a credit card where the cashier/waiter doesnt even check the signature. Using checks to pay for things??? Europe is phasing them out. Israel loves checks. WTF.. Online banking.. non existant.. My UK and USA bank accounts work in real time and tells me what is going in/out of my bank the following day.. Israeli banks - give it 5 more years for these basics. Setting up a montly standing order involves going to the bank, not any bank it MUST BE your own branch.. don't get me started..
4. Did this Margalit visit the Mayor of Malmo
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (05.10.12)
Ilmar Reepalu. And take a tour of the muslim mosques and visit the few remaining Jews of Malmo
5. Skype is Estonian
TruthMonger   (05.10.12)
6. Sweden???
Daniel ,   Netherlands   (05.10.12)
Where antisemitism is fashionable? If Margalit would be swedish he would be boycotting Israel....
7. Why?
Beary White ,   Norway   (05.10.12)
Sweden and Norway are the two most hateful contries in the non-islamic world against Israel. So why help? In both countries there are daily racist episodes against jews, even if those incidents are coming from tousands of immigrated islamists, they are swedish inhabitants/norwegian inhabitants, the shit is produced inside the borders. At the 1.may rally both cuntries show the labour organisations with the only dominant flyers "boycott Israel". These socialistic governments reminds of another socialistic leader....and should be punished and not be rewarded wiht imported IQ.
8. I also manage a fund of US$ 900
Jonny ,   Cape Town   (05.10.12)
I also manage a fund of US$ 900 - Its called food shopping.
9. wish swedish furniture was as good as Israeli hi-tec
zionist forever   (05.10.12)
Israeli hi-tec companies contribute products that have potential to change the world for the better. Swedish flatpack furniture .. very bad assemble'y instructions, usually a couple of screws missing, overpriced and eventually falls apart.
10. Sweden loves Israeli hi-tech
Alan Altmann ,   Mountain View, USA   (05.10.12)
I am sure you meant more than $900.
11. do not help the swedes. israel, keep your innovations and
(05.10.12)
how you do it and achieve it to yourselves. let the swedes rot in their anti israel misery.
12. Sweden
Rick S. ,   FL USA   (05.10.12)
What a wonderful way to teach your enemy (Sweden) how to compete with you. I would tell Sweden to take a hike.
13. Don't invest in QlikTech
Guy ,   KC   (05.10.12)
QlikView may possibly be the least capable business-intelligence platform out there. You'd spend about $38K for 3 user licenses and receive a confusing UI with frustrating Ajax asymmetric server calls that slow down user actions, and the software lacks the functions that free Datatables.net modules have. It can't even auto-adjust row height for text fields. Even worse, you have to reprogram commands with each new version launch. Israeli entrepreneurs should ditch this Swedish junkware and develop something far better, maybe with homegrown RavenDB as the database engine.
14. Why help anti- Israelis???
Sharon ,   Israel   (05.10.12)
Sweden has become so much anti- Israeli and anti-semitic, I gravely wonder why we should help Sweden at all !!!
15. Skype is not Estonian!
withheld ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (05.10.12)
16. Sweden loves Israeli high tech
tiki ,   belgium   (05.10.12)
Just not the Israeli's. The Nazi's loved Jewish money, paintings & valuables, just not the Jews.
17. Proofreader Needed
emanon ,   USA   (05.10.12)
I hardly think "...manages eight venture capital funds totaling more than $900 dollars" is correct as that would be less than $125 per fund.On the other hand, 900 MILLION dollars would be venture capital worth considering.
18. Word!
Esaias ,   Uppsala   (05.10.12)
I can tell you, being Swedish, there is far more antisemitism than in for example Turkey. But this doesn't mean that there is no point in trying to mend these relationship. I welcome Margalit to try but I don't think it will come a long way. And about the extremist zionist, bulls*t, by Swedish standards someone is Zionist if they thing Israel has the right to remain in existance.
19. Fickle Sweden
Arnold ,   Canada   (05.10.12)
This is the same Sweden that calls for boycotts of Israeli goods and services.
20. 900 whole Dollars? That's not much ;)
(05.10.12)
21. #8 - I hope that's in ZAR!
Henry from New York ,   USA   (05.10.12)
22. They love the tech, but not the Jew.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (05.10.12)
A Swedish friend of mine (who is an open facist) tells me that there are all sorts of saying and phrases in Sweish that are anti-Semitic in nature. It's just a casual thing for them.
23. I still will not buy a Volvo
Ron ,   OC US   (05.10.12)
A little friendlier for a little longer, maybe I'll change my mind. Screw it I am buying American!
24. What Israel should do
Ralph Haglund ,   Lund, Sweden   (05.10.12)
As a Swede the fact is that average man here has not a clue about Israeli products, they think it is about boycotting avocados. If Israel had shaped up and been proud instead of hiding, they have to put Made in Israel on everything they deliver abroad! They might lose a few sales, but many of the israeli products, people want and need so they would swallow it and learn,.
25. #24 - Agreed wholeheartedly.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (05.11.12)
Israeli companies need to let people know that their goods are Israeli even if it causes a few ignorant people to turn their noses up.
26. #23 - You're really missing out.
Henry from New York ,   USA   (05.10.12)
My family's used Volvos for almost thirty years. They're very safe, sturdy, well-built and reliable cars. Not like the garbage cars we make here. Ever seen what happens when a US car collides with one made in Germany or Sweden? The American car loses very very badly.
27. Sweden loves Israel
Jane Shalev ,   Karkur Israel   (05.11.12)
Nice to see something positiv about Israeli creation and free spirit thinking.
28. #Elan Checks? In Israel???
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (05.11.12)
Hardly ever see checks here anymore. True, they haven't dissappeared, but the use of checks has dramatically decreased from 20-30 years ago. At my Shufersal recently someone pulled out a check book and the poor kuapa'it had to ask her supervisor what to do. And when my building neighbours talked about how to pay the plumber, and someone suggested we use checks, most of the building didn't even have checkbooks anymore! I do a lot of my business here in Israel on line. More progress to go--but things are a little more advanced than you're suggesting. But more progress will be good, too. Nitkadem!
29. Henry, you are extremely obsolete, my friend
Gábor Fränkl ,   Budapest   (05.11.12)
ALL cars today are built to be safe today the diff. mostly negligible and Volvo's and Saab's comparative advantage in this have long disappeared! That's a clear fact. And yes, I boycott eevrything Swedish. We have another brand.
30. Israel's scientific accomplishments
Reuven   (05.12.12)
should be more extensively published.
