1. The demagoguery is jaw-dropping!!!
gelb   (05.08.12)
Last weekMeretz MK in true absolute traitor fashion told off the Israeli "public" (his word) as look at this!, "guilty" for the racist attack on the infiltrators in South-TA. Now, he praises, wants to carry favour with and save the exact same "public" he maliciously charged en masse, i.e.: collectively with racism and worse. Does this idiot, and his fellow idiots Livni and Labor MKs know the meaning of "sour grapes", the fact that a gov't's term is called for F-O-U-R (in this case 4 and a half) years, which is its clear right??? Is he psychotic or what? Or just a cheap, low populist far-Left demagogue?
2. Sour Grapes : Unity best for Israel
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (05.08.12)
Tzippi ; you are just sore and have no clue what Israel needs to do to survive as the Jewish State.
3. who are you speaking for eactly?
Eyal ,   USA Israel   (05.08.12)
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is not about you, it is about who the people of Israel choose, as a whole. Last time I checked, Bibi won and is still leads the majority, as well the favorite in case it goes to another election. So go take your livnis and your leftists and go for a walk.
4. Livni
IRV ,   USA   (05.08.12)
Had her chance to form unity government and didn't. She doesn't posses the broad leadership skills of inclusiveness to lead Israel. She couldn't lead the majority of views in her own party! Now she shuffles to comizerate with competing parties. She's all about herself and couldn't care less about the whole. Merezt and their hypocritical selfishness is exactly where she belongs, is, and should stay. That attitude deserves minority status iin ANY country. GO ISRAEL!
5. Israel's left
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.08.12)
The handwriting has been on the wall for a long time. Gone are the days of starry-eyed socialism; it hasn't worked. A policy of endless concessions to ersatz "Palestinian" terrorists hasn't worked. We're not seeing a major change in the face of Israeli politics -- we've always had way too many political parties, which made fragmented politics and jockeying for leverage inevitable. What we are seeing, however, is a clear trend to right and right-center politics. Israel's left will be out in the cold, for which they are angry and resentful. They fail to understand that it is their politics and their (failed) policies that are chiefly responsible for Israel's shift to the right. But in typical leftist fashion, it's never their fault, is it? They are chronically of the opinion that everyone else is wrong, or delusional, or politically immature; that simply isn't the case. But you will never get any of them to admit that it might be their vision for the State of Israel that does not work, and which the people do not want.
6. Strangely Israel does not need new politics
(05.08.12)
when the Islamo-Leftists rule. Hey lefties - can't you spell DEMOCRACY when The People reject you? The MAJORITY does not want you - GET USED TO IT!
7. Livni?
(05.08.12)
She's alway been back-stabbing, insidious, dishonest, scheming and lazy. She got what she brew - nothing less, nothing more.
8. As always, the Left rejects Democracy
(05.08.12)
What a heap of hypocrites!
9. Only Activists Showed Up...
ACortez ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (05.08.12)
The rest of Israel knows the political significance of the moment. Don't worry, America is right behind you come November!
10. Democracy
Dave   (05.08.12)
The Knesset may not represent these protesters but they represent Israeli society. The protesters are upset because other than a few hundred loud people - no one cares about the left wing.
11. social justice means its the left wing way or the highway
zionist forever   (05.08.12)
Meretz are complaining about the fact that Bibi has formed a coalition with Mofaz. Shelly Yacimovich is moaning about how terrible it is that Mofaz has joined a coalition with Bibi but only yesterday she announced she would be willing to join a coalition with Bibi after the election. Mofaz is not allowed to join forces with Bibi & gain political power but she is. Yair Lapid is moaning about it, another year in the political wilderness with Facebook as his only media outlet for the next year the Lapid celebrity factor will have worn off by election day and no celebrity no Lapid popularity. The ridiculous thing about all these criticisms of the Bibi / Mofaz coalition is the political system is based on coalition government so why is it a fight for the countries character if we have a Kadima / Likud coalition? Its probably one of the most all encompassing coalitions the country has ever seen because other than Labor, meretz and the arabs every party with Knesset seats is in the coalition. By forming this coalition Bibi has shown once again he is no fool and the amateurs like Shelly Y, Nitzan Horowitz & Yair Lapid.
12. you bleeding hearts
alexi   (05.08.12)
you had your free equitable PMs, peres, olmert and where did that get israel? 1000 dead, 1000s maimed, endless concessions, terror without response espeically by olmert who was fearful. Bibi is weak and hesitant but still 1000 x better than olmert and livni. That he resurrected kadima is not good since he was on his way to a victory anyways. and the kadima memebers who would lose more than half were weaklings in the main as they submitted to olmert as he drove israel off a cliff. bibi's downfall i sbarak. he cannot separate himself from barak, he cannot see that barak has nothing more to give and is all talk. Israel does not need more peres leadership of kiss US rear ends and beg the arabs for peace. Forget it. As a matter of fact, this is the best right now israel is going to get. and condo arrangments suggested by ph.d know nothings like ross and kurtzer will never work. Jews cannot ever share their own security;they have to control it!. Otherwise forget about a jewish state.
13. Livni can't handle politics
Annette ,   Israel   (05.08.12)
And I can't handle the hypocrisy of leftists. This is how parliamentary democracy works - has nothing to do about buying seats. Israel we are ONE united country. we put our differences aside and we form coalitions and we work it out together and this is what makes us strong. Im glad Kadima is in and also glad that livni is out.
14. When the Israeli Left is protesting on our streets...
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.08.12)
...we know that Israel is doing something right. I'm not too crazy about Mofaz or Kadima. It's a matter of fact, I will tell all of you in a very blunt an extremely honest way - I DESPISE and HATE Kadima, BUT since our country is under tremendous international pressure and it is quite possible that Israel needs to beat up Iran pretty soon, Israel MUST be united from within, and since Israel is facing massive international pressure and facing existential threats from Iran, Turkey and the Arab "spring", Israel must show extraordinary strenght and unity and in order to achieve that, you need a maximum amount of seats in the Knesset, in order to pass relevant and vital laws that aim at protecting and defending Israel. I may dislike Mofaz and Kadima ( "dislike" is a major understatement) but I can tolerate Mofaz and Kadima in this unity government, IF, that means that Israel's safety and well being will be taken care of and that our government can FINALLY be a government of action, where decisions are actually made, without being afraid of what tiny parties tipping the balance might say or do. Israel deserves an action government - not a "compromise government". What still bothers me is that Barak is still in the government. This is more than I can tolerate.
15. What Nataniahu did to take in the coalition Kadima is Legal
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (05.09.12)
What are leftist Protesting? if Natanihu wants he doesnt have to call elections until the end of his period. His period finishes in November next year. Yes election were going to be called, but politics is the art to govern, and the fact that Mofas did what LIvni did not want to, and could haved bothers Livni. Now hse realizes her stupidity. So to save face she goes out to protest with the loosers. Meretz has nothing to say they might deaappear as a political force if election were held today. Yacimovich was even contemplating entering the coalitions after elections . This guys are bunch of loosers who dont know to loose. The left in Israel for last 20 years has dedicatted to kiss palestinian behinds and turn their back in Israel society. Israel society does not like them period
16. finally real democracy not the tranny of the very very smal
ralph   (05.09.12)
small minorities.
17. A joke article. Hundreds, and headline says Meretz
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (05.09.12)
Hundreds means nothing in a country of 8 million people. And Meretz? Let's get some journalists that can write about politics without viewing everything through their extreme left wing, N. Tel Aviv cappuccinos glasses.
18. Oh, boy...the liberals' are crying tonight!
Jake Stone ,   USA   (05.09.12)
This witch, Livni, just doesn't understand that her time has passed; no one wants to hear or see from her, again. She needs to get a job as a meter-maid (even then...that's insulting that honorable job). Well...may be digging ditches (even then...I've known men who did that and had more character than her). I got it! She'll fit right-in with Obama's clique: The dumb and without a clue! I'm sure the black Messiah will have an opening (and proof of identity will not be needed; that's how they roll). If that happens: I'm moving to Israel; better country, any how, since mine has gone to Hell. I'm thinking on moving anyway, if that clown gets re-elected; I hope not! Does anyone in Israel have an apartment I can rent? God bless, Israel!
19. 14
john Darren ,   cairns-Austraalia   (05.09.12)
Good post Alexander.
20. Meretz is upset? That's a definite plus. Meretz democracy
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (05.09.12)
means abusing Jews and Israel and having love ins with the likes of Princess Zoabi
21. Livni
Tom W ,   USA   (05.09.12)
She urgently needs a nose job. With her ice-breaker-bird like beak she's not convincing.
22. Bed partners
michael Pielet ,   israel   (05.09.12)
13 months additional time before the next elections will provide Tsipi enough time to get into bed with Lapid.
23. Meretz= communists. 100 protest They are isolated and irrele
clearer light ,   alaska   (05.09.12)
Irrelevant, isolated, the Meretz Commies protest and get a whole 150 to come out with them. Finally, the center right where the majority of the population dwells will no longer be held hostage to the fantasies of the meshugannas on the left.
24. left up to meretz, livni, there'd be no Israel
rick ,   walnut creek   (05.09.12)
25. Nice to hear Left squeal, still we need "Opposition" :-))
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.09.12)
26. shalit
fcd ,   israel   (05.09.12)
if it means that papa shalit is out of of kenesset = GREAT
27. Sorry YNet - things didnt go your way !
YNet lover   (05.09.12)
Thats called democracy - you dont get your will all the time.....I know you dont respect other opinions, which is typical for the left. Thank God that in this difficult time we have a government that can think about other things than themselves ....(the left is not able to do something else than watching their belly-buttons )
28. is it the "we are proud sluts" parade?
is this the parade? ,   world   (05.09.12)
29. To #17 Indeed!
Observer ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (05.09.12)
" 17 And Meretz? Let's get some journalists that can write about politics without viewing everything through their extreme left wing, N. Tel Aviv cappuccinos glasses. michael redbourn , Arad Israel (05.09.12)" Agreed! We have the same problem with journalists in Stockholm, Sweden. Just as they probably have in New York and London. A segment of the urban middle class that primarily resides in Sodermalm of Stockholm and zips lattes day out and day in while they "solve" the world's problem from their desktops. Typically it is the climate, world peace, [insert sexual minority], USA or Israel that is the issue of the day. They try to win every argument with some leftist cliche or by stating the obvious. We refer to them as "latte-socialists".
30. Only the left-wingers who lost a job are complaining
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (05.09.12)
Silly people: the government unites straight across the board and there is this handful of peeps who come out crying and protesting. Well; thank you so much to all of those who protested a unity government: the largest coalition in decades. Lets not see the bright side of unity; lets divide and conquer like ALL leftists do. Screaming and shouting about not getting their candy and bubble gum. Although I am neither left nor right, I am very, very happy to see Israel's left take a slam like this: esp those who've kvetched and done nothing. Chai Yisrael! Congrats on our UNITY GOVERNMENT which the leftists call 'evil'. So happy to see the VAST MAJORITY of Israelis united. Shalom! Chai Yisrael!
