The Islam you referenced was 1500 years ago. Since then Islam has fallen into rot. Look at Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Yemen and similar countries. The Muslims there are simply going around killing one another. Israel planted MILLIONS of trees and in 64 years turned a desert into a garden.
