1. It's so nice to watch Egypt
Mara ,   Vienna   (05.10.12)
helping Israel unvoluntarily to prevent weapons being brought into Sinai and from there to the Gaza strip! LOL!
2. and your point is
observer ,   Egypt   (05.10.12)
Egypt's government is going to try the smugglers in Military Court instead of a civilian one. Egypt is sovereign country and can use any confiscated weapon against her enemy. Does Israel deny Egypt her right of self-defense?
3. The sad reality is
Sheik rattle & roll ,   USA   (05.10.12)
how many trucks they didn't stop. Israel needs to make it clear to Egypt that terrorist actions origination from the Sinai will not be tolerated.
4. Undermine Egypt's security?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.10.12)
I'd say the security is pretty compromised already. How'd they get over the border from Libya in the first place? And if Egypt is placing its trust on random checks, Israel had better look real hard if the Egyptian military can control events in the Sinai. If they cannot -- as is increasingly apparent -- we shall have to take over from them and clean out that increasingly foetid cesspool. The Egyptians cannot control the influx of Sudanese and they cannot control the flow of arms. They cannot safeguard the pipeline and heaven only knows what is going on in terms of smuggling via Rafah. Egypt's incompetence is mind-boggling. Well -- not really -- we've seen their spectacular ineptitude on the battlefield. But they had better clean up their act in a hurry.
5. Egyptians are occupiers in the Sinai
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.10.12)
This area did not belong to Egypt for 5000 years. Only the british inveted it to secure the Suez canal. I see a bedouin liberation fight justified and if these weapons will be used not against Israel, but for an independent bedouin state I see no problems. The Sinai bedouins hate the egyptian fellahs much more than israelis. They are not even real arabs in their eye.
6. #4 if Israel can't stop rockets from Gaza,
observer ,   Egypt   (05.10.12)
Egypt is going to take over the security task in Negev. LOGICAL.
7. #5's Sinai did not belong to Egypt for 5000 years
observer ,   Egypt   (05.10.12)
I thought the Torah is no older than 3000 years to have this 5000 year old promise. SAYANIM.

solomon ,   bklyn   (05.10.12)
Do you deny Israel;s right of self defense? Of course you do. Egypt can’t even stop people blowing up the oil pipeline to Israel and Jordan. But you never deal with reality, so why start now, right?
9. Thank you Egypt
Marcelo ,   World   (05.10.12)
I want to thank Egypt for this nice attitude, worth for egyptian and israeli security. Thank you Egypt.
10. what "foreign intelligence" agency?
david ,   new york   (05.10.12)
sounds like iran. (syria is too busy massacring its people to get involved with terrorism in egypt)
11. Phew
Gil ,   NYC, USA   (05.10.12)
Oh Thank goodness! They got the fax machine in the top right hand corner! we are saved
12. Egypt Police
Fad Egypt   (05.10.12)
it is the egyptian Police which deserves the credit, the army and the border guard didnt do anything to prevent the movement of the arms through the border and that although the police is the most state institution damaged by the stupid revolution of 25 january at this revolution the police system was collapsed completely and was recovered slowly but on the other hand the army which was welcomed the hero welcome by the public did nothing to fight crime and terror or to stop the movement of arms through borders except only in few events and we must remember that before the revolution sinai was completely controlled by the state police and there was no any terror networks it is the army who are controlling the rafah border with gaza who was allowing the smuggling of weapons through the tunnels but i am prefering the military rule over the elections shalom
13. good for them
marcelo tuchman ,   RIO,BRAZIL   (05.10.12)
REMEMBER,IF EGYPT LOST CONTROL OF SINAI'S TERRORISTS,ISRAEL ENDS PEACE DEAL. YOU THINK CAIRO CAN TRY A WAR AGAINST ISRAEL? NOT EVEN IA A DREAM.
14. "foreign intelligence agencies"
Jacob ,   Holon, Israel   (05.11.12)
Whenever this expression is used it is a group they are ashamed to say outloud. So it is another muslim country or rouge elements in their own country. If they had said they had been helped by a "foreign intelligence agencies," they would mean Israel.

Only the MFO and the Egyptian civilian police are permitted within Zone C. Israel is permitted only four infantry battalions in Zone D, totaling not more than four thousand personnel. By Philadelphi Accord of 2006, 750 Egyptian border guards are stationed in Egyptian Rafah to prevent terror and smuggling.
16. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.11.12)
Your usual illogical and nonsensical "contribution." Israel can reduce Gaza to a smouldering heap of rubble in a matter of hours. If that. Your "bravado" is quite misplaced. Israel did, after all, clean Egypt's clock in four wars. That hasn't changed. It never will.
17. To nr 13.
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.11.12)
Sinai bedouins are not terrorists mostly. They want simply freedom from the entirely different egyptian "fellahim" The bedouins have own culture and traditions. They are semitic arabs, unlike egyptians, who are originated from Sahara areas after it dried 10000 years ago.
