I was shocked at this article. I have always complained about the overt antisemitism in Ireland when I was growing up many years ago, and have always been told by others that it is no longer like that. Well this article sounds very realistic and natural. Ireland had become a cesspit of cat-offs as the writer saya. When I was growing up my neighborhood in NYC was made up of Irish and Jewish Americans. One of the most frightening parts of that childhood was running the gauntlet of young Irish-American thugs who were intent on beating up young Jews who were (in their eyes) "Christ killers". It was never a fair fight; usually one Jewish kid against 4 or 5 Irish thugs. The end was never pretty.
