4. I do not reject, but
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.13.12)
mr Abbas must be learned, that the essence of politics is compromise. If one side ask something, the poltitical partner also expect things in exchange.Right now he demands release of prisoners, ruining of all settlements, dividing Jerusalem, and allowing 5 million arabs whoose great-grandfathers lived in Israel back. In exchange maybe he says a "salaam aleykum". A great perspective for Israel !!
5. My concern is the new coalition government
Israeli 2   (05.13.12)
They will pressure the PM to concessions with the PLO....perhaps it was already in the deal. If so, this spells bad for Israel.
6. If we are so strong and united, then why
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.13.12)
do we need a terrorist like abb-ass telling us what to do? We should execute all pali prisoners and bomb the p.a. infrastructure. Thank you shimon peres and gang for bringing the terrorist gangs to our border, giving them weapons and training, money and legitimacy.
7. There is a story
A ,   Belgium   (05.13.12)
about a person walking down the street and they see someone else banging their head against a wall. The person asks, "why are you banging your head against the wall?" and the other person answers, "because it feels so good when I stop". Keep banging away, Abbas, you must really enjoy pain.
8. And if Schallit had gone on hunger strike ?
Roland Seener ,   London England   (05.13.12)
9. Why the hell should Israel accept demands,
Mara ,   Vienna   (05.13.12)

12. Wonder what he is saying out of the other side of his mouth
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (05.13.12)
in private messages to Israel.? How many they want Israel to keep ?Send to Hamastan? Same circus went on with P.O.W Cpl Shalit, who never saw the Red Cross, family, letters etc etc. No "humanitarians" were outraged at his treatement,so don't expect to be taken for anything other than what you really are and thats not"humanitarians"
13. Nothing
agokoy ,   cebu   (05.13.12)
I do not see anything in what has been said by the "Palestinians" that offers to promote peace. Everything is about their Demands to be met, done, and fulfilled. Somehow I just cannot see why Israel continues to allow themselves to be bombed, murdered, slandered, yanked around, fooled and abused by an illegitimate and ragtag band of landgrabbers.
14. No permissiveness!
Johannes ,   Norway   (05.13.12)
15. They are demanding the right to starve themselves to death
rebecca ,   Modiin   (05.13.12)
Give them what they demand. They obviously could not achieve Martyrdom any other way.
16. Hunger Strike
Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville, MD USA   (05.13.12)
The conflicting demands from the Pals should be resolved in favor of their past practice with regard to those who were "prisoners"("kidnapped" would be a better word) of them. Keeping in mind those Israelis who were tortured and killed, as well as those who were released after many years of brutal confinement, my suggestion would be to allow those who continue to starve to be force fed. If such efforts become too onerous, then grant the Pals their wishes to visit the 72 virgins.
17. Interesting development
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.13.12)
Abbas has now thrown conceding to the demands of criminals and terrorists in Israeli prisons into the mix. And people think he's really interested in peace? He has suffered a serious separation from reality.
18. It's all very simple, really!
Elizabeth   (05.13.12)
If the enemy doesn't want to eat, don't force it......... he doesn't want to eat, ok..... fine and dandy. He's the one getting carried out in a box not the Israeli! I'm sick of these so-called Palestinians. Which of all the arab countries do the misch-masch come from..... or don't they know themselves! Come on Israel, give us a more enjoyable time. If the pali's want to die..... so be it..... end of story!
19. What I like about old Abbas
Moragh   (05.13.12)
is his never ending comedy act. he wants he wants a nd he wants but gives damn all in return. Put close pegs on his shoulders and hang the silly old trottle out to dry! What are you waiting for Israel. Israel could try waiting until old Abbas pegs out! I do n't thi nk Israel could expect anything worse. abbas is just a silly old stubborn clown. Give him a rattle!
20. LOL!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.13.12)
The best part? Easy. I'll tell you. The so-called "hunger strikers" are eating on the sly! No one can go 73 days without eating and live. I guess the instant those Arab terrorists and criminals discovered that Israel was going to let them starve themselves to death (free will and all), they couldn't start cramming food into their mouths quickly enough! So much for ideology. Bravo to Israel for not succumbing to Arab blackmail!
21. Yeah right
NiName   (05.13.12)
Here is my recommendation to prison-house commander: 1. Cut down food waste by asking prisoners (bombers & killers) if they want to eat daily or not. 2. At the end of the week, donate those saving money (on foods) to the poor . 3. Then make announcement on TV that Israelis citizen's taxes money has well spent. 4. DO NOT interfere in their strikes. Let's them starve to death. It's their decisions; not yours. 5. At last, say THANK YOU to these blood hunters daily for saving Israelis citizen's taxes money.
22. The Gaul of this arab
(05.13.12)
abu mazen Is In No position to make demands. How is it these arabs Say Israel is a Obsticle to peace, when every time Israel agree's the arabs Run in the Opposite Direction,Make unrealistic Demands. I say unrealistic Because these arab/bedouins Would never follow their own Demands if the shoe was on the other foot. They are FULL OF HUDDA! Hey abu mazen Go Pound Sand. You had choices, with Gilad Shalit,Jerusalem Is The Jewish Capital!!! There is No such place as east Jerusalem it's Not Dividable it's just Jerusalem and it's Jewish. If you arabs Want To Give Something in Good Faith, Give Us BACK OUR TEMPLE MOUNT. Clear your gold roof building brick by brick and take it to Mecca or medina Your choice.
23. Rise up and demand end to talks with terrorist P.A.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.13.12)
The bottom line is that if Israelis wanted to talk to the terrorist P.A.; they would have elected Labor and Meretz to lead. Instead, Israelis elected a Likud lead government, knowing Likud's Constitution demands the annexation of liberated Judea and Samaria. All of Patriotic Israel, the vast majority of our land, should rise up and demand a permanent end to talks with the terrorist P.A. Before Oslo, Israel had the dignity and sense not to talk to terrorists. That must become our iron clad policy again.
24. #5. It is very important to strengthen Likud nationalists.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.13.12)
#5. You concern is very valid. Bibi never met a demand he didn't concede to. He will continue to bow before all demands, whether they come from Obama or Mofaz. That is why it is vitally important to strengthen Likud nationalists. The more nationalist Likud is; the less wiggle room Bibi will have to make lunatic concessions.
25. Abbas to PM Re:Prisoners
ltrail ,   United States   (05.13.12)
The solution to the problem would be to cmpletely remove all media communications from the palestinian prisoners. So that no one knows whether they killed themselves or whatever; just as would be done in Yemen, Iran, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. No more news getting out.
26. Israel governments shifts to the centre...
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (05.13.12)
...and Abbas and the PA increase their demands and preconditions. The future looks bleak. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
