31. Sadly, but the reality is that Arabs, not Jews, are eager to
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.13.12)
undermine Israel's very existence, and therefore it has to protect itself in the face of such people, be it "politically correct" or not.
32. The Japs have just...
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (05.13.12)
....made themselves persona non-grata in Israel.
33. Hypocrites! What A World!
Robert Blum ,   United States   (05.13.12)
When I was Economic Advisor for the japanese Government from 1992-1995, I called japanese Ambassador to th United Nations, Mr. Seki, in regard to arranging a meeting between Dr. Neil Sanders of The American Jewish Committee and the Japanese Empress. His response to me was "I hate the Jews! They are all so pushy!" I responded, "I am a Jew. You are disgusting! You call yourself a diplomat?" For that, I was punished, in spite of the fact that I had represented Japan in making a positive speech on anti-semitism in Japan in Florida before the Hadassah and at a temple in Miami Beach, which of course cast Japan in a positive light. Moreover, Cosul General Masataro Ito, my immediate boss, who is former Ambassador to Honduras, disputed the know facts about the massacre of Nanjing and brushed it off, saying, "It was not a massacre. A mere few Chinese died, and they blew it out of proportion." On the other side of the coin however, at the time of the Tien An Men massacre, I was friendly with then Chinese Ambassador to Japan, who told me that there was no massacre. This is simply a plot between Japanese television and the United States, to make the Chinese Government look bad."
34. Political correctness kills
Daniel ,   Amsterdam   (05.13.12)
I gues the army doesn't want any suicide attacks. I am supposed to say its racist right? A crime against human rights. Its certainly a crime that the army is allowed to protect itself in ways that are barred from the Israeli population
35. Editor: I meant to say Dr. Neil Sandberg, American Jewish Co

36. To: Robert Blum at No. 33
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.13.12)
Perhaps you should have brought up the rape of Nanking, Japanese prisoner-of-war camps and the Bataan death march. Not to mention what the Japanese did in Korea. That would have been a little harder to deny, or brush off. Moreover, to this day, not a single one of the Japanese terrorists who wrought such terrible carnage in Ben Gurion Airport -- and who fled to Japan -- has been brought to justice. Wouldn't be a bad idea to remind the Japanese of who was responsible for that, either. At least they've shut down their nuclear reactors. But not, sadly, before Fukushima released more radiation into the atmosphere and the ocean than did all of Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Chernobyl, combined.
37. if they are hungry go to azrieli next door
zionist forever   (05.13.12)
The Kiriya is a military compound not a shopping mall and your not based there then want to enter you do so by invitation only. I wonder what would the Japanese would say if the Kiriah was one of their defense compounds & some arab drivers wanted to go to the canteen uninvited?
38. That is the Israeli apartheid works...
Rashid ,   Montreal   (05.13.12)
...in subtle ways. It does not have to be as clearly defined as it was in South Africa.
39. Because they work for an embassy
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.13.12)
Doesn't mean a thing. None of the drivers should have been given free reign on an Israeli military base. As for the idea of sending guards from their proper posts to supervise unwanted, unknown personnel that never should have been allowed on the base in the first place - forget it.
40. My Response To # 32
Robert Blum ,   United States   (05.13.12)
For you to use the slur "Japs", across the board, to express your hatred of an entire nation, because of the response of that nation's government representatives is an overt expression of your very low level mentality. While it is true that the Mainichi News and the Yomiuri Shimbun and the Asahi News almost invariably are hostile to Israel and skew the facts and ignore other facts in favor of the self-contrived, so called 'Palestinians', the Makoya and other segments of Japanese society stand behind Israel. Moreover, I personally know several Japanese Jews who are very observant, including my wife and a brilliant scholarly Japanese rabbi who is almost blind and lives in Jerusalem. My wife Mikako Sheyna-Yafa Blum is the woman who translated many anti-semitic books written in Japanese by Masami Uno and Kageyama, for the American Jewish Committee. As a result of her great devotion in helping her Jewish people, such anti-semitism came to light when it was published in the New York Times many years ago. Your broad label is a terrible, insensitive and unfair label which, if you have any decency, should be retracted!
41. why not call a spade a spade
rm ,   Amsterdam NL   (05.13.12)
It was racism in it's simplest and purest form. Japan is fully right in complaining and if you arm-chair warriors had any brains left you would attack the Israeli side on this, not the Japanese. With brainless defence no matter what you certainly don't do the country you love above all no favors.
42. Israel <3 Japan

43. # 26 You did not understand
David Meron ,   Tel Aviv   (05.13.12)
You read and you did not understand anything. Zeu. You are a lost case.
44. # 30 Practicalities
Daviv Meron ,   Tel Aviv   (05.13.12)
The US suffered the worst terrorist attack ever perpetrated by Arabs. And still they elect a citizen with Muslim background called Hussein. We' ve became a sick society. Impregnated with hate, discrimination and violence. Just read these talkbacks. Leat leat we are watching the pillars of Zionism being eroded.
45. Why should any civilians, Jewish or not
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.13.12)
be allowed into an army canteen? It is for the military. I was in uniform in the I.D.F. and had trouble entering the Kyriah the first couple of times till I received the proper pass.
46. car$ need more oil and money=pollution (out$ide and inside)

zionist forever   (05.13.12)
The Kiriyah is a military compound, that means its run by soldiers doing things they don't want other people knowing about and they also worry about terrorists & arabs are usually the ones who carry out acts of terror and political correctness can't hide the fact arabs are 99% of the time the ones who carry out terrorist acts. If they were being told they couldn't go to eat in a burger place at the mall next door then that would be a legitimate cause for concern but the Kiriyah is not a shopping mall. They were also not banned because they were arabs they were banned because of who they were not military personel and whilst their boss was there by invitation they were not and so they didn't have a right to go wandering down to the canteen.
48. @ #1
Golden Dome ,   Washington, USA   (05.14.12)
Israel is at war with all Arabs by Israel's choosing. These are citizens of Israel not charged with any crimes but guilty none the less by race. That's called racism and is illegal in most civilized democratic countries (of which yours is not).
49. Are Israeli Arabs not Israeli citizens?
Hannah   (11.01.12)
