32. The truth is somewhere in the middle...
ej ,   tlv   (05.14.12)
I studied at the LSE and was appalled at some of the openly ant-semitic views I heard from British students- not only from the Muslim students (which I expected), but from self proclaimed leftist students. I heard things like- "Jews control the media" Jews control the "US government," "Jews control the "financial institutions"- and imagine it is much worse now then when I studies there during the peace process days in the 1990s! This mentally is typical of European anti-semitism, but it is now infused with virulent, eliminationist anti-semitism imported from the Arab/Muslim world. The fact that an Israeli diplomat cannot engage in a friendly debate on the matter at a UK campus because of threats to his security, as well as to Jewish/pro Israel students- speaks volumes about what is going on in academia in the UK.

It seems you are saying to everyone who posts "damned if you do, damned if you don't".
34. #32 I studied in New York til 2009, it was just the same.
Gil Ast.. ,   TLV   (05.14.12)
35. #33 I think #24 means exactly what he has written.
Sally Slander   (05.14.12)
no room for misinterpretation. I sort of agree with him.
36. #23, when did Britain help create Israel?
Danny   (05.14.12)
in 1947-1949, the British fought on the side of the Arabs and did their best to disarm the Yishuv before the war. They stopped tens of thousands of Jews coming to the Mandate and were the last major country to recognise Israel and actively blocked their membership of the UN.
37. Dear Janet, seems like
Lucky Luke ,   London   (05.14.12)
your career/world view depends on your ability to be blind or a fool, possibly both.
38. #22 jz - I agree with you...
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.15.12)
except for the first sentence. Israel is neither cruel nor ruthless. How can it be when they negotiate with terrorist prisoners? When they treat people from all over the world, including their enemies, in their hospitals?. When they send medical teams all over the world in times of crisis? Etc. It would be interesting to see you prove my post wrong, or to prove your own correct.
39. Who is speaking?
Geula ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
Is it the Simon Kay whose education is: the University of Nottingham PhD, Tumour Immunology ; University of Nottingham BSc, Zoology 1980 – 1983 and who worked as British Consul in Russia in 2001-2006, the organization investigated for tax evasion in 2005 ? No wander that his opinion is far from the real life. Unfortunately, #1 seems to be more close to the truth.
40. Perfidious partitioning of Mandate needs rectifying!!
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (05.15.12)
41. Brits should be punished their empire dismantled
Telerotox   (05.23.12)
Dismantle their empire, their queen should just be an empty figurehead, and the people living in dire poverty in a sea of hijab-wearing Mohammedans. O, never mind the penalty has already been applied!
