1. The fake victories of Fake-stinians...
Anna M sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (05.15.12)
The Palies seems to go from victory to victory, but unfotrunatly for them, this is nothing more than "illusionism"...
2. quote: "We will defeat the occupation"
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.15.12)
Khalid Marshal is correct. They will defeat the occupation TO MY SORROW! With the spineless leaders that we have today who give in to EVERY palistinean demand, indeed they will win and we will have to pack our bags and leave this country!
3. the first pic
Jewish Patriot ,   Galut   (05.15.12)
the first pic is a nightmare...
4. Kindness seen as weakness
Adam H. ,   USA   (05.15.12)
This is the mentality of the Arabs. Make a concession or gesture of kindness and instead of reciprocal gesture they see it as weakness and become more warlike. It happened every time Israel has made a concession.
5. another stupid blunder by Bibi; gift to the enemy
rick ,   walnut creek   (05.15.12)
this is not olmert, right? I mean, Israel did fire that disgusting clown, didn't it? they sent olmert home, didn't they? olmert's gone but the smell remains.
6. What an agreement reached ?
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.15.12)
Belly dancers are forgotten, without them how imagine arabs feeling perfect in jail.
7. Why are we do weak
M ,   Tel Aviv   (05.15.12)
Ehy do we cave in to every Palestinian demand? Why do we allow any comforts at all? They are in jail for crimes against Israel and the Jewish people. They do not deserve family visits. We simply empower them. Very weak decision and sad news.
8. Some Victory...
M Carr ,   Baltimore, USA   (05.15.12)
“The Shin Bet said that in return the prisoners pledged "to absolutely stop terror activity from inside Israeli jails." Wait a minute! Let me try to wrap my mind around this! In exchange for visits by family members the Pals agreed to cease terrorist activities? Terrorism is the life blood of these people! What will the Pals do if they can’t plot against Israel…play soccer all day? The Pals WILL violate these agreements and the violators will pay a much harsher penalty than solitary confinement. Some victory…
9. Break a deal, face the deal?
M Carr ,   Baltimore, USA   (05.15.12)
The Shin Bet said that in return the prisoners pledged “to absolutely stop terror activity from inside Israeli jails.” It also said terror group’s commanders outside the jails made a commitment “to prevent terror activity.” The above quote appears to be the heart of this article. My question is; what are the repercussions WHEN the terrorists violate their pledge? I disagree with the talk-backers that have problems with these agreements. Bibi doesn’t authorize agreements that harm Israeli interests. Israeli prisons like all prisons have spies and informants dispersed throughout the prison population. Violators of this agreement will be found out and dealt with accordingly. As I ponder this latest agreement with the terrorists I am reminded of a line from Beyond Thunderdome , one of my favorite apocalypse movies. With a steely glare in her eyes, Auntie turns to the crowd and declares, “Break a deal, face the wheel!” The Pals would be wise to behave with extreme caution.
10. P.R. and human rights victory
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (05.15.12)
Although to some Pals this appears to be a weakness, it is worldwide more of a p.r. and human rights victory. If these prisoners have not been charged and tried, there is room for this agreement, which shows a concern for family life.
11. Truer words were never spoken
Zionist forever   (05.15.12)
Once again as wth large scale prisoner releases we set a precedent when we are weak and the terrorists start using the same tactic over and over and we talk tough in the beginning then say ok you win we accept your demand. This all started with 1 man who went on hunger strike and when he was about a week away from death we said ok we will release you if you start eating again. After that hunger strikes moved onto a large scale and like last time we gave in What are we going to do when high profile terrorist like Marwan Bargouti, Ahmed Sadat or the killer of the Fogals decide to strike because they wasn't out? Do we have the courage to say no release even if it cost you your lives and then let them die if it comes to it or will we just talk tough for 3-4 weeks then release them because we ate worried they will die? The terrorists have discovered suicide bombs don't work but kidnapping soldiers or simple risk free tactics like hunger strike pays well.
12. This is little more than rhetoric and no victory at all.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.15.12)
I can kick a cat and break it's ribs, and call it victory, but what kind of "victory" is that? Once the Arabs have defeated Israel on the battlefield at least once, then maybe they can start talking about "victory".
13. #2:
Israeli 2   (05.15.12)
You are neither patriotic nor correct. I see right through you. The moment you wrote: "They will defeat the occupation...?!" Huh? and "palistinean demand" ? Huh? something is amiss here. THEY are the occupiers and "Palestinians" do not exist. They are mainly Jordanians.
14. May they enjoy their Victory for many long years
tiki ,   belgium   (05.15.12)
sitting inside ISRAELI jailes and their families having to pass ISRAELI controll & search, every time they came to visit their 'innocent children. On the oter hand it's a big mistake to give these terror-prisoners ONE finger (happens only in Israel) for now they will demand the full hand. A 'signed deal for them is valid, until the next 'signed deal.
15. #13 You did not understand my meaning!
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.15.12)
I am more patriotic than you can imagine and I PRAY THAT I AM NOT CORRECT. I was being cynical and sarcastic. Especially in light of our frighteningly spineless leaders who DO give in their every demand. My rabbi, z"l, the one who has been proven to be right, ALWAYS used to say that one day it will come down to: EITHER WE PACK OUR BAGS AND LEAVE OR WE PACK THEIR BAGS AND MAKE THEM LEAVE!!!!
16. #4 It has nothing to do with "kindness".
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (05.15.12)
Imprisoning people without trial (administrative detention) or keeping them in solitary detention, preventing families from visiting, are all measures that are usually associated with dictatorships. Israel wanted to prevent a widening of the embarassing publicity about the plight of the prisoners, so started making concessions. The question is, whether Israel will stick to it. The Palestinians are right to celebrate this as a victory. This was not an act of kindness from Israel. It was forced by the prisoners to give them their rights. Israel is not keen to have its war criminals tried in front of an international court.
17. Amazing what these clowns concider a victory
Mike ,   Raanana Israel   (05.15.12)
18. Correct
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (05.15.12)
It pains me, but they are 100% correct. It is a victory for them, brokered by a country that hates us and a government that has turned weak and foolish. The promise not to return to terror--excuse me while I try up my tears of laughter ( or are they preliminary tears of anguish?) This promise is as good as the ones offered by prisoners released for Shalit--in other words it is not worth a D**n thing!
19. I love to see theese pictures of morons...
Beary White ,   Norway   (05.15.12)
..LOL. It is amazing that people without brain actually are able to move...and shout islamic shit stories out in the air, pollution... I warned you, let the terrorists chose to die, why stop them to starved themselves to death??
20. Ain't no such thing.......
Gideon Reader   (05.15.12)
...as a "Second Place Winner". The self inflicted injuries continue, apace. This is the part where all rational persons look about them and loudly quoth: "OY!!!"
21. One agreement one way, more get administratively detained...
jerusalem   (05.15.12)
the other way. Its a never ending cycle. I doubt that even despite the pretense of released shalit, there will still be prisoners who will be denied family visits. What exactly does shin bet mean by "to absolutely stop terror activity from inside Israeli jails."? they have explosive belts, knives, and other weapons in there? Some 'system.' abbas is an idiot. What does this have to do with "first step towards freeing all Palestinian prisoners." all that bribe money and financial aid he is stealing from the Palestinian people is contributing to dementia. Congrats to the prisoners, hopefully corrupt personnel & systems of prisons are next.
22. #4 down there in the US of A
jerusalem   (05.15.12)
I dont know if you are making references to other issues, but with regards to israeli prisons, there are no acts of kindness. Logically in an ideal world, its a prison, meant to house criminals. On the other hand, prisoners have rights, including family visits. Others include the right to be told why are they 'administratively detained' and right to fight the detention and contact lawyer in a court of law, as well as to have contact with family. Isnt some of these rights this part of what a 'democratic state' is? If israel doesnt like to be incriminated for its practices, acts, and policies then logically one shouldnt perform incriminating practices, acts and policies. In the end no need to cry that 'the whole world is against it' BS when rotten practices, actions, and policies are exposed to the international community. Anyway, thats in an ideal world...
23. "in return the prisoners pledged"
(05.15.12)
oy Israel your becoming the joke and laughing stock of the middle east. Even Im laughing at your/our stupidity. When will it end and we become what were supposed to be?
24. Israel again fails
Paul ,   Jerusalem   (05.15.12)
to understand the primitive mind of the enemy. In this war, in which Arabs seek to revive the Holocaust, and victory fills them with an orgy of exhilaration. It is not what Jews intend, but how it is perceived by the enemy. Israel simply gave into evil again, and never learns the lesson. Period.
25. Yes, the prisoners "won" over Israel....
William ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
and they still remain prisoners. Nicely done, "Palestinians".
26. Thanks Pal prisoners for getting Israel off the hook.
(05.15.12)
If a couple of you had died and violence erupted, it would have been hell in the diplomatic arena for Israel. Hope your one visit is worth the effort.
27. More bitter fruits of Likud's disastrous reelection of Bibi.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.15.12)
Bibi never met a demand he didn't concede to. It doesn't matter if the demand comes from Obama, Barak or the P.A. terrorists. Bibi is a brilliant speaker and Finance Minister, but a pathetic P.M. More and more and more bitter fruits pile up from Likud's disastrous decision to reelect Bibi as it's leader.
28. ISRAEL IS DOOMED!
les ,   canada   (05.15.12)
inspite of the best army, airforce and navy in the whole world, the politicians, for their own benefit are selling out not only israel, BUT THE WORLD JEWERY TOO! WAKE UP ISRAEL, IT IS THE 11th HOUR.
29. Pity and Great Shame
(05.15.12)
I know from experience that once you give your enemy a finger you entice it to devour the whole hand, arm, and body. Unless you say enough, stand firm and refuse to compromise-there is no end to it. One “deal” builds upon another and the enemy is never satisfied- until you no longer have anything to offer. The Palestinians are bend on hatred; they seek the destruction of the Jews and their land. The do not love the land they currently inhabit but despise it wholeheartedly. Yet they refuse to depart and leave the land’s rightful inhabitants in peace. This is what causes me the greatest agony. There can be no negotiating with such people. The government has once again given in to their banal deception-what a pity and great shame. The secular governing body has send a clear message to the people it is supposed to protect, and whose interests it is supposed to uphold.
