31. Nakba Day
patrick a .hammel ,   zermatt,switzerland   (05.15.12)
To number 6:Your stupidity has already backfired a century ago when your Arab brothers decided to murder Jewish Palestinians just because they were Jewish.Anyone, anywhere in the world who has Arabs as neighboors knows damn well what I am talking about when I state that living among you is the best PR the state of Israel could hope for.Of course there are exceptions as we all know.We too have our deranged people, from Norman Finkelstein to Netura Karta, still we do not murder them for their opinion. All we Jews are about is fear of Allah since Allah is the one that ordered the Jewish people to settle in Zion and to multiply making Allah the first and foremost Zionist of all times.Just check your Koran and you will surely find out that we just like you fear Allah and respect his choice of prime real estate land he reserved for us to inhabit named Israel. Now we have 1/5 of Israels population that is Arab and honestly we are proud of it.Once you will get rid yourselves of the leaches that are Hamas,Islamic Jihad,Hezbollah and your friend Ahmadinejad and that you will live a normal life the way Israeli Arabs do you will realise that celebrating your Naqba day, year after year, was in fact what was keeping you away from establishing your own state.Your left wing supporters did not really care to help you establish your state between May 15 1948 and June 5 1967 because they could not blame the Jews for it.They had to wait for the Jews to defend themselves by liberating the lands from where Nasser and Ahmed Chouqeiri were calling for the second holocaust of the 20 th.century to take place to form a union that will only strenghten the determination of the Jews to stay alive.Too bad you do not capiche that it is not so much the love for your cause that motivates them but their antisemitic feelings that will keep you celebrating your Naqba day until the end of times.Take your destiny into your own hands and you may just beat Israel in soccer during the first WORLD CUP taking place in Palestine and Israel in 2030.

34. Nakba Day gives the whole Balestinian problem in a nutshell.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (05.15.12)
Their grievance is the inception of Israel then, it continues up to today and will continue on forever. The Arabs and other islamists do not want any infidel nation existing in the area. They want total Arab monopoly to feed their greed and exclusivity. There will be no peace because there is and will not be any acceptance of Israel. The message is very clear and is enshrined in Nakba Day. Israeli leftists and peace activists must be pretty blind not to see this or perhaps they want to see Israel destroyed because they too share the grief of the inception of Israel. Peace is an illusion with a people who hate you and resent your presence, who consider your country's inception as catastrophic and persistently seek to destroy it and who steadfastly refuse to recognise it. No amount of peace-deal talks will change the shape of things. Nakba Day says it ALL - nothing clearer is needed.

divisions(although allegedly "occupied ")"commemorates Nabka" Your statistics is meaningless, your beloved Germans had lost more than "400 villages". Commemorate the German Nabka of 1945 instead, loss of huge swaths of ancestral land,University towns like Breslau and Köngsberg and systematic expulsion of 11 million Germans from their truly ancestral land. Cry Ben Alofs ,´cry !!!
42. #25 Alofs, when did these people ever govern themselves?
(05.15.12)
And when did they ever have a "Palestinian" currency. They didn't? That's because they're not a distinct people as such. They belong to the Greater Arab Nation, as Arabs, but not a separate nation. A bit like the Druze or Bedouins. Too bad they lost their homes and all, but there's a lot of injustices in life.

You make a compelling argument, too bad you left out the most important part - the Ottoman empire fell & Great Britain had the mandate of Palestine to do with as they wished. That was the price the Arabs paid for losing the war. The Jews were screwed into being given even less land than in the Balfour agreement. The Arabs were offered lands originally allocated to the Jews in which to create a state of their own - they refused. The "naqba" was that the "Palestinians" decided to live in perpetual war instead of peace with their neighbors. The loss of the Golan Heights, East Jerusalem and so on was the price of losing other wars of aggression against the Jewish people who were legally gifted the land by the owner (Great Britain). I won't even go into the historical claims of Jews to the land. I'm only looking at it from a legal standpoint since 1948. If that's too much of a "naqba" for the Arabs, let them take it up at the UN. (that worked out well last time).
45. JEWS WON ARABS LOST
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (05.15.12)
Nothing changes the facts, even for the clueless pals. Israel won the pals lost, time to move on, the pals can always leave.
46. Arab Solidarity...NOT!
M Carr ,   Baltimore, USA   (05.15.12)
“In order to avoid clashes, the factions agreed in advance that only the official Palestinian flag will be waived during the march – and none of the individual factions' flags.” The above quote is very revealing concerning the behavior of the “poor, long-suffering Pals.” It reveals the fact that the Pals are aware of their inability to control the emotions that a few gang colors (factional flags) might trigger. The answer to this dilemma is to ban individual gang colors in the hopes that the Pals won’t try to slaughter one another. This is just another example in a long and growing list of barbaric behavior practiced predominately by Arab Muslims. So much for Arab/Palestinian/Muslim solidarity…

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.15.12)
You are so full of crap it is pouring out of your fingers and mucking up your keyboard. You need to check out the facts. Your "sources," such as they are, are woefully inadequate and laughably inaccurate. I'm glad that all of Europe is celebrating Naqba Day. I am not at all surprised, either. I am planning a celebratory evening with friends, as well. By the way -- look up Haj Amin al-Husseini (may his name be cursed throughout eternity). The Jewish people did not have to "nazify" the Arabs. They did it all by themselves. When will the U.K. lay its bloody past to rest? Shouldn't that be your greater concern, nursie boy, what with you being a Brit and all? Clean up your own house before worrying about anyone else's.
48. #21 Palestine a roman name ?
Yossef   (05.15.12)
Palestine comes from the verb פלש (Palash) meaning "to invade" "to break into", which gives פלשתים which mean "invaders" and has been translated by "Philistine". It's not a roman name but a hebrew name... Palestinians means in hebrew "invaders".
49. Any Arab .....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.15.12)
.... that does not show up for work in Israel today should be fired tomorrow. Let them find work in the PA (LOL!) or in Gaza (bigger LOL!). We don't have to put up with their invented so-called "tragedies," and they should certainly not be allowed to affect Israel's economy and commerce. Let them conduct a general strike in Ramallah or Gaza City. I'd love to see the outcome of that!
50. Delusions of Grandeur
David F. ,   New York, USA   (05.15.12)
The real "catastrophe" is that the Palestinian leadership (Haj Amin Al Husseini, chief among them) had hedged their bets in favor of their disorganized and simple-minded Arab brethren. What followed was a series of wars that the Arabs had used as a tool to regain "face", as though they had to reassert some Arab greatness. Again, unfortunately the Palestinian dream of statehood had originated and ended with pan-Arab delusional forecasting. The Arab states had pursued their own piece of the Holy Land for their own self-serving reasons. The Palestinians were simply the Arabic-speaking nomadic (and partly sedentary) members of the part of lower Syria that formerly lay within the Ottoman Empire. Palestinian dreams became nightmares because the Arabs had authored them as such. The fate of the Palestinians was sealed by the deals that Sharif Hussein had made with the British and the alliances that the Arabs had formed with the Nazis. Sometimes when you lose, you simply lose. It seems that the responsible Arab parties have benefited greatly from the losses of the Palestinians. It has enabled them to place blame squarely on the Israelis, so that their regimes could deflect attention to their illegitimacy.
51. To nr 48
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.15.12)
Yossef, Palestine or Palaestina are derived from Philisteene. The form "Palaestina" is a Roman/Latin name - Emperor Hadrian of Rome wanted to erase all evidence that Israel belongs historically to the Jewish people, so he looked up historical records and there Emperor Hadrian found the name "Philisteenes" - an Indo-European people who came from what is today the Greek island of Crete located in the Greek archipelago. The Roman/Latin version of "Philisteene" is "Palaestina". So Emperor Hadrian began to call Israel/Judea "Palaestina" in the 2nd century CE. So what I said was true. Neither "Palash", nor "Philisteene" nor "Palaestina" nor "Palestine" are Arab names.

I wonder if anyone is listening. Have you considered to write an open letter to the Prime Minister ?
53. nakba makes arab acceptance in Israel harder
zionist forever   (05.15.12)
The arabs protest against the creation of a state they claim they want to be citizens of all. The result is the Jews look on them as traitors and fifth column and hate them because of it. Not so long ago I was in the street and I saw an old man in a keffieh ( obviouly arab ) on the floor crying and the reason was because there was a secular Jew standing over him and shouting at him things like I AM A JEW THIS IS MY LAND LEAVE There were armed security working for the municipality just a couple of meters away and watching him shouting at this arab and brining him to tears. The reason they did nothing was obviously because he was an arab. If the arabs actually showed loyalty to the state celebrated Yom Hatzmaut instead of mourning it was created because of a few romantic villages then the Jews would have a much easier time accepting them and things like that would be less likely to happen. The arabs are their own worst enemies and its time to accept that in most cases all thats left of the village's they look on as the Garden of Eden are the rusty old keys they proudly wave about.
54. #51 Alexander, don't you know hebrew ?
Yossef   (05.15.12)
פלשתים is a word from the Torah, it is the name of the invaders against Shaul and David fought. It is indeed the name used by the Roman after the destruction of J'lem, but IT IS a hebrew word, and this is all the irony, don't you understand ??
55. To nr 54 - Dear Yossef - you assume many things about me
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.15.12)
Yes dear Yossef: I know the very irony: In Hebrew it's called Plistim and from the Hebrew roots of the word the Romans invented the Roman/Latin version of the name - namely "Palaestina" or "Palestine". "Palaestina" is still a Roman/Latin name since it is the Roman/Latin version of the Hebrew Plistim. I can assure you that there is no Latin in the Hebrew bible. There is no "Palestine" or "Palestinians" in the Hebrew bible. The word is originally Hebrew and is widely used today as a Roman/Latin name despite that 1) Arabs speak neither Hebrew nor Latin 2) Arabs have nothing to do with the neither the ancient Israelites nor the Romans 3) Arabs are using a Hebrew, and later on a Roman/Latin name to promote an Arab "nation" that has never existed and use this originally Hebrew word against the Hebrews themselves. And 4) the meaning of Plistim is "invaders" and the Arabs use a Hebrew and later on a Roman'Latin name calling themselves invaders and yet claiming to be the "natives" of Israel.Yes I know the irony of the situation dear Yossef. And yes dear Yossef I have heard of the Philisteenes in the Torah and the Tanakh and yes I know that King Saul and King David fought against them and the most prominent example of those Philisteenes would be Goliath. Yes Yossef - I know. Tell me something I don't know.

Are you nuts? There is absolutely no connection between the Hebrew word "Plishtim" and the Latin word "Palestine."

OF Palestine which is Amman? How can an Aran nation have a Greek name is beyond beliefe. They should spend thier efforts into getting Jordan to recognize them. GIVE WB TO JORDAN AND GAZA TO EGYPT AND END THIS CHRADE CALLED PALESTINE ONCE FOR ALL.
59. # 58 - All for it!
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (05.16.12)
Israel tried several times in the past to "give" Gaza & WB back to Egypt & Jordan, the problem is that Egypt & Jordan refused! They would rather keep their Arab brothers in perpetual statelessness to further the Islamic agenda against Zionism than to let them enjoy normal lives (or as normal as life can be in an Islamic state).
60. The far worse catastrophe
Zechariah   (04.19.13)
In 1935 tens of thousands of Jews were escaping Nazi Germany many to Palestine . The Arabs Revolted Against this refugee influx with murder and tortures and used Blackmail Threatning to Join the Nazis unless Jeish escape was minimilizers .In 1938 Kritalnacht Pogroms and Minilized Jewish escape in 1939 in mid year the White Paper of Britain Blackmailed by the Arabs limiting Jewish escape to a Tricle .In 1948-1949 the main Arab ERun from Palestine to allow Room for the Arab Armies to commit massacre not seen since Ghegis Khan Head of Arab League Blood Curdled .
