Sweetie, Israel will be around and will continue to be a powerful force to be reckoned with long after Turkey is but a dim and distant memory, consigned to the pages of ancient historical texts.

"Turkish Air Farce." I like that! May I use it now and again?

Because sure as hell..with attitudes like yours ..its not going to be for long. Bloody idiot.
64. To Israel: Use Your F15s and F16s
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (05.17.12)
Barak's interview with the LA Times was frankly stupid. Again, his waffling and being evasive, cost Israel good PR (Polls show worse then ever) He said that Israel's navy, far exceeds that of Egypt, Iran, etc. in skill..thus negating any other disadvantage. Egypt, Iran andTurkey have huge navies..with US.Russian supplied missile boats, battleshps, fast frigates. Israel has 5 subs..possible with tacticalnuks for a 2nd strike. (BTW, one strike by Iran over Israel and its allvover but thevcrying).Iran, Tukey,Egypt can survive. (Iran lost 1m in it's war with Iraq and doubled its pop). Turkey is building a car against Israel..it's spoiling for a fight..and is now part of the "axis of evil".. Why Israelis go there is beyond me? Why trade with them? As Barak said, hitting Israel's oil find in the open ocean aint easy ( But it's possible using Turkish planes or guided missiles).Israels airforce can take out anything the Muslms throw against it..BUT, it must go further..and bomb their airports, military enclaves, warshps. As during WW1, Turkey must be made to pay for its aggressive stance. No mercy or sympathy. Let them, as one gerneral said during WW2, die for their country. Arming the rebel Kurds would help..and recognizing the genocide as genocide will send chills down their backs.Next encounter-to Israel: use your F16Is or F15Is..destroy their airforce totally.

Noah Lev ,   LosangelesUSA   (05.17.12)
Israel has 200-400 nuke warheads. per latest intell reports. F15Is, F16is, Jerichos (10,000 mile range), miniaturized bombs (suitcase) lithium, cobnalt coated bombs, artillery firing tactical nukes, Phantom 2,000, and of course, 6 subs with 20-40 1megaton cruise missiles each (2nd strrike). England/France/India/Pakistan have about 100 nuke warheads each. Israel has 185,000 troops with 700,000 in reserves.Iran has 10m soldiers, Rev Guards, homeguard, etc. Egypt/Syria have 500,000 regular army each. Iran is stalling..until it has 10-20 bombs on its Shihabs. Carter lost Iran, Obama lost Egypt..and may lose Israel? Israel can take out Turkey's entire airforce with a few sorties..or Jericho launches....Istanbul is but a memory. But, first, get the 25,000 Jews out of the country. I advice an airlift, guarded by 100 F16Is, paratroops with Armored vehicles. (Turkey is playing brinkmanship with Israel, Greece and Cyprus...And as we say here..lots of gobble, gobble before their necks..well we understand.
66. # 20 mehmet ! the provinces were lost
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (05.17.12)
despite your 20-24 million men fit for military service,if you are so great how come you have to knock at the door of the E.U.infidels to let you in ?.
67. END THE ILLEGAL OCCUPATIOn OF CYPRUS & SYRIA
Zionist forever   (05.17.12)
Turkey must also not try and steal the gas that belongs to the INDEPENDENT STATE of Cyprus Its time for Turkey to end this illegal occupation of Cyprus and while they are at it return Haytay to Syria because Assad claims that its Syrian territory.
68. US and EU embargo for the turks
American ,   Los Angeles   (05.17.12)
TURKISH support for islamic terror groups is a hint for the real intentions of the turkish jihadist regime. STOP the millitary technology for the turks until they quit trading and supporting the iranians.
69. #6 & 14
RHarris ,   London   (05.17.12)
What a dirty way of fighting. I have never seen you write a single pleasant word on this site - just threats, dirty foul threats to kill more Turks, to remember what the British did (or didn't do) in 48, etc. etc. etc. I would suggest that you take a more positive line and instead of cheap, nasty, murderous insinuations, try using your legal training to come up with positive reasons. You can threaten me with the Mavi Marmara also. It's a pretty low and mean-spirited way of debating but that seems to be your style - especially when addressing what you think is a Moslem. No Northern Cyprus airspace? Have you taken a leaf out of Ahmedinejad's book and wiped Northern Cyprus off the map?
70. ENOUGH. ISRAEL & TURKEY ARE FRIENDS
Daniel ,   Ra'anana   (05.17.12)
You will not convince me with all this jingoism from both sides that Turkish people are our enemies. Our Turkish brothers - don't let your government convince you to hate Israel. The only two real democracies in our region have way more in common than divides us.
71. Anybody recognize
Ibrahim #54 ,   Greek Cyprus   (05.17.12)
You in the world? No, even the Islamist team of countries does not... Cool down..
72. To: No. 53
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.17.12)
Oh, please. Turkey is on the verge of getting kicked out of NATO -- can't be part of NATO and a close ally of Iran at the same time. When that happens, all of those lucrative NATO bases in Turkey will be closed and the Turkish economy -- already circling the bowl -- will be flushed. Don't worry about praying for our souls. If you're all that intent on praying, however, how about praying for the millions of Armenians slaughtered by the Turks? Or the innocent and defenseless Kurdish civilians being massacred by the Turks? That should be enough prayers to keep you busy for quite some time, so you can spare us your inanities.
73. Turkish Bluster
jgets ,   Thessaloniki, Greece   (05.17.12)
I don't think this latest manifestation of Turkish megalomania amounts to anything. As long as there is crude oil flowing thru the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline to Israel, the chances of another fatal incident between the two countries is slim, diametrically opposing national interests in the EMED notwithstanding. Even Erdogan & Co aren't foolish enough to go head to head with the Israelis. The Turkish air force would be neutralized by the Israelis in less than seventy two hrs, conditions permitting, probably less.. And if that happens, it opens up a big can of worms for the Turks in the Aegean as well. I'd think twice if I were a Turk. Of course, they might need to have a fighter of theirs shot down once in a while for domestic political considerations. An inflamed public opinion against Israel scores major points with the Anatolian masses, not to mention the rest of the rabidly fanatic Muslims. Erdogan champion of Islam, I think I've seen this somewhere before, didn't end well.
74. Daniel 70
alsky ,   Toronto   (05.17.12)
at best, Turkey is a frenemy. We need to keep our friends close and our frenemies closer. I will stay away from Turkey until they apologize for their crimes against Israel. You are free to go there ]f you wish !
75. No:20 Mehmet Thank you for the good laugh
Franco ,   Roma, Italia   (05.17.12)
Thank you for the good laugh. Turkish army plays the clown's role in every NATO drill....
76. @72
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (05.17.12)
In your wildest dreams, sweetie. There's no other country who is more geo-politically important and has more powerful army than Turkey (after US) in NATO.
77. @58
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (05.17.12)
Defeating Arabs more than 40 years ago with huge help from US is a long memory. No, no Turkish airspace. You're wrong again, only a "jettisoned" fuel tank reached Turkish soil. Turkish Air Force has carried out many succesful operations against PKK strongholds in Northern Iraq. About sinking our own destroyer, yes, that's true, but please google how many US troops are killed due to friendly fire in Iraq and Afghanistan. Anyway, let's suppose that your so famous air force neutralized ours, what will you do against a superior navy and "real army"? Remembering that you failed against militia in 2006?
78. @61
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (05.17.12)
Hey, big force, when are you going to attack Iran, we're fed up with barking. Please show us your force.
79. How can Israel have been invading Turkish airspace
zionist forever   (05.17.12)
Northern Cyprus might be occupied by Turkey but the airspace still belongs to Cyprus and not Turkey. If somebody is going to condemn Israel for its actions it should be the elected government of Cyprus not Turkey and so far I don't hear the Cypriot government complaining or scrambling fighters when the Israeli jets flew over.
80. @74
sipahi ,   Istanbul   (05.17.12)
Mr./Ms. alsky, As an elected spokesperson of Turkey, in the name of Turkish people, I beg you to visit our land. We can't survive without your holy visit. Please reconsider your decision.
81. #69 Sir, Britain has a lot to answer for...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (05.17.12)
....not fulling her Mandate for Palestine that included today's Jordan. Had she so done in a reasonable time-frame, most of this current aggro could have been avoided. While that probably wasn't your fault, you're in deep water taking on Sarah B, who knows her ME history, unlike the revisionist crap that you probably feed on. If you know the truth (no mystery/ public knowledge/ available to all who really want to get to it) and the facts on the ground concerning the Israeli- Palestinian conflict and beyond..you wouldn't post such twaddle. At worst, you would be slightly left of her. In 1922 the Arabs and Jews were in accord about who got what from the ashes of the Ottoman Empire. The British..feet dragging and prostitutes for Arab oil, ended up allocating the Jews a fraction of what was originally appointed to them (The Partition Plan) Care to debate that?
82. #81
RHarris ,   London   (05.17.12)
I don't deny that SaraB knows her Middle EAst history - it is her interpretation that worries me, as well as the constant condescension with which she always refers to a) non Jews, b) people who disagree with her bigoted and racially superior interpretation of history. As for what Britain did during the Mandate, I suggest you take it up with the British Foreign and Colonial Office and not with me. I have no idea where your parents or grandparents came from, but I certainly would not be so rankly idiotic as to blame you for things that happened in their lifetime and which were carried out by governments in which they did not serve. So - I'll repeat - the problems I have with the grande horizontale in question is that she is vulgar, rude, cannot recognise friends from foes, flings out wild accusations, drips with contempt towards non-Jews (i.e. Moslems), has a favourite word (Fakestinians) which she repeats ad nauseum, and is generally a prejudiced and foul bigot of the utterly worst type. Care to debate that?

As I said THK only fought PKK armed with light weapons hiding in mountains and still PKK rules the mountains of the east Turkey. For decades PKK was not defeated. Similarly Israel also has a problem defeating terrorist groups. This s not conventional warfare. As far as the help of the USA. Let me remind you that n 1967 USA was not supporting Israel and France that was the man arms suppler immediately started and arms embargo to Israel. Against all of these odds Israel was able to gain USA arms sales instantly which is a huge successful diplomatic achievement in conducting foreign affairs and win a war. Turkey on the other hand was desperate of Israeli and Jewish help to end the USA embargo that was established after the Cyprus invasion and to stop the Armenian Genocide bills in the US congress for which I personally lobbied in the 1980es and 90ies.

BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (05.18.12)
enlist in the Turkey Army
86. #82 Oh I see....it's but a question of style
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (05.18.12)
All these 'qualities' you attribute to our Sarah B irk you...fair enough. Equally, being PC can be just as nauseating. Some mince, others don't..and nor does she...I probably do. c'est tout. One fundamental point, Mr Harris, is that we love Israel. Do you? Have you noticed over time that many of Sarah's post titles are in red? This comes from the recommendations received by other TBers. This implies that she speaks for many. If her wording offends you, don't fret.. ....her message rarely misses the mark. Have a good night, Sir
87. #85 Ben Jabo - Compare Turkey & Israel
mrcertified ,   tampa   (05.18.12)
how you rate your nations soldiers against a nation proven to be very well performing against its enemies? has your nation ever fought a major battle with a major nation like Turks? what would be the scenario for israel if they ever go into hostilities and war breaks out? let me tell you up front : a disaster for israel... so the day they decide to pick a fight with a Turkish state is the day they can simply close their doors and get the ... out of the middle east :))) ask every other nation including but not limited to Russia,France,Brits,Greeks,Italians,Arabs and their combined forces :)))) who do you think you guys are, Superman :)))))

Abuse it in good health. I was wondering - if they couldn't identify the type of aircraft - how is it that they are sure that it was even Israeli? I mean you can tell the aircraft type from about 30x the distance that the national markings a visible and they couldn't even do that.
89. #57
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.18.12)
That would be any Israeli pilot - we don't have any that are as inferior as your best. The combat would be aircraft to aircraft. Send your whole Air Farce - we can use the target practice.
90. #60-Pakistan is not using her nuclear weapons
Ibrahim ,   Turkey   (05.18.12)
Pakistan will merely abide by its weapons sharing treaty with the Turkish Republic and provide Turkey with nuclear warheads for its B-611 Short Range Balistic Missiles (Project J). Who knows whether NATO will stick to its Nuclear Weapons sharing treaty with Turkey in such a situation but Pakistan sure will. Turkey never backs down when it comes to Cyprus.
