1. I want to know where these products come from...
Stan Marsh ,   London   (05.20.12)
So I can go out of my way to buy them. Long live Israel.
2. BRAVO BDS...! TATA
Edithann ,   USA   (05.20.12)
3. Ideology
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (05.20.12)
Ideology must necessarily take precedence over economic practicalities every time, especially in a situation such as this one. Otherwise, there is no morality. The boycott must be enforced, and let the chips fall where they may.
4. When is the"new" S.A. going to boycott Arab,Irani,Chinese &
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (05.20.12)
Turkish products?
5. Since when is it up to S.A. to delineate borders? Have they
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (05.20.12)
delineated the borders of Turkey? China? Kurdistan? Now what is their real propblem?
6. How sad...
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (05.20.12)
However, this is poetic justice - the "Palestinians" have coerced the international body into boycotting the very goods they produce! Perhaps it is time for the "Palestinians" to realize that their fate is in some part tied to the "Zionist Entity" that they seek to demonize?
7. Mr. Liel
Steve ,   USA   (05.20.12)
If I understand you right (and I do), then it's all Israels fault, everything. You are no different than the left wing Jewish and Pro-Palestinian nut jobs here in the States. Get a life for crying out loud and quit blaming Israel. It is nutcases like you that encourage the barbarian Arabs to continue their 'holy war' on Israel. You are perpetuating the situation by demonizing Israel . Did you realize this? Besides, the Arabs laugh at you folks (left wingers) behind your backs and will kill you first (left wing nut jobs) since your the weakest link of their enemy the Jews, Israel and the West..
8. Palestinians lose jobs
e andrews ,   belfast ireland   (05.20.12)
they will lose more than their jobs if Israel is allowed to profit off their land. More and more land will be taken from them until they have nothing. long live Palestine and South Africa, hope Ireland follow suit
9. sacrifice! my palestinian brothers
ahmed   (05.20.12)
the pa has to help create trade and jobs
10. Buycott Israel
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.20.12)
http://buycottisrael.com/ In the meantime, Israeli products have found strong backing in the United States, Canada and a number of other countries. Unemployment among the ersatz "Palestinians" in the West Bank is 40%. About to get higher. While Israeli-made products and Israeli-grown produce remain as popular as ever -- and these include settlement-based goods. BDS has hurt the ersatz "Palestinians" far more than it has hurt Israel. Gotta love it!
11. 1 - So I can go out of my way to buy them.
split ,   US   (05.20.12)
Have a problem with British products or loyalty ??? ,...
12. The answer is to stop supply SA with anything from Israel
Stu ,   USA   (05.20.12)
AND I MEAN ANYTHING! No Israeli tech, weapons, etc...
13. Baroness Thatcher
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (05.20.12)
When there was a move in the UK to boycott South Africa, P M Thatcher rightly pointed out that such a boycott would result in more unemployment for South Africans, and she therefore opposed the boycott. The anti-Israel boycotts will harm Pal workers.
14. Easy: Repatriate immigrants to SA from TA
Baruch ,   Houston/Israel   (05.20.12)
This seems to be a worldwide problem. Countries who accept immigrants from Africa soon have political, mostly criminal, and parasitic economic issues. Send all African immigrant to SA, let them show the world how well they deal with these distractions and perhaps they will begin to understand that complicated peace--like their own civil war that destroyed a once trhiving country may take a few moments. In the meantime--given that they can't seem to stop their own from infecting each other with HIV we may want to quarantine the entire continent.
15. "Peace Process?" Let's Get Real
Dallas ,   Canada   (05.20.12)
To those who would support the BDS movement: You need to learn about the PA's actions, attitudes and history, and after this learning, if there still is confusion, you must think hard and assimilate the fact that the "PLO" was formed in 1964. "Settlements" therefore becomes an invalid argument.
16. Have Arab employees write letters to South African Minister
Marco ,   Spain   (05.20.12)
17. The Folly of Boycotts
Brant ,   Hilton Head SC   (05.20.12)
Does anyone look at relaity. In 196t, the IDF didn't fight Palestinians. They fought the armies of Egypt and Jordan (and Syria too) who had occupied, for the previous 19 years, the Arabs of Gaza (Egypt) and the West Bank and E. Jerusalem (Jordan). To their shock, the Arab armies lost the war and their Governments, in scant hours, abandoned the Palestinians they'd governed (and mistreated) for two decades. It's time to lay the blame for this madness where it belongs; with Arab instransigence and it's time for South Africa and Ireland and all the other places to think of the lives of these Palestinians, instead of their own doctinaire ideologies.
18. BDS
Joe Sombrero ,   Usa   (05.20.12)
The do nothing goverment Won't do a thing to defend Israel and the historical snd legal rights of the Jewish People . Until the Israeli Goverment tetaliates hard against these goverments and the BDS groups this will continue. For god sake defend Israel and quit being a Lakey of the US Goverment and the EU.
19. If Pali workers are so concerned let them tell the world ...
EST ,   Miami USA   (05.20.12)
If Palestinian workers are truly concerned, they should be the first ones to let the world know that the anti-Israeli attitude and boycotts are NOT good for them....that they much rather work for Israeli companies than in Gaza for Palestinians....Don't hold your breath though...I don't see that happening any time soon...
20. I want to know where these products come from...
Bigby ,   London   (05.20.12)
So that I make sure I do not buy them. Down with Israel! Long live Palestine.
21. Why do these Israeli factories employ the enemy?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.20.12)
The Palestinians hate Israel and want to destroy our country and the Jewish people and we give them jobs? This is total madness! We all know what happens to the dog that bites the hand that feeds. No disrespect to dogs! The action by the South African Government should show tthat South Africa is not the place for Jews. Time to get out or face the same fate as the Jews in Germany in the 1930's.
22. You've already stolen their land, now their just slave labor
Marcus   (05.20.12)
Looks like the Shylocks of the illegal settlements in the illegally occupied West Bank are demanding their pound of flesh from the the indigenous Palestinian people from whom they stole the land. Have they no shame or conscience, or have they forsaken their God in the name of greed and avarice.
23. a mess of porridge for brains
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (05.20.12)
Odd that SA will only recognize Israel's 1948 borders. So why do they recognize Palestine territory when the West bank was never ever recognized by the UN as belonging to Jordan? - a territory which was taken by force by the Arab Foreign Legion! And why is it considered "Palestinian" when Jews lived there from time immemorial - until their mass slaughter in Hebron long before the creation of the State of Israel? Evidently the HIV virus, so rampant in Tutu's country, made a mess of porridge of their brains.
24. Stupid South Africa thus deprives Arab employees
Vardina   (05.20.12)
from their jobs and their bread. Those fanatic leftists think with their behind instead of their heads if tehy have any at all.
25. made in Israel !!
Yosef Y. MSc' ,   USA   (05.20.12)
The unprecedented, world-wide campaign to delegitimize the Jewish state and demonize the Nation begins to bear fruit. Billions of petro-dollars support a huge, glib and pervasive propaganda that puts even Nazism in the kindergarten. The ignorant majority of this world's population provides a fertile ground for the new, fatal Antisemitism, fueled by the power of the Internet. South Africa is but a small indication of the menacing future. What are we to do ?!
26. Split Do you buy ONLY US products no matter the choice or
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (05.20.12)
or are you an Arab firster sloganeer?
27. MARCUS Nobody is forcing Arab workers in the tech parks etc
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (05.20.12)
to stay . Care to enlighten us with evidence of slave conditions there? Do you know the meaning of slave ? Do you know where the borders are ? Funny the Arabs insisted there weren' t any. What else do you know better than say UNSCR 242. Have you written to SA yet on how they treat escaping Zimbabweans ? Or to Turkey on borders? Or is your real problem in life,Israel?Just like Archypocrit Tutu.
28. ''He who curses Israel will be cursed!''
I care for Israel   (05.20.12)
So much for the almighty God - thats bad enough for South Africa ! But there's more : Many like us will boycott South African products from now on and encourage others to do so ! We dont want to support those who curse Israel - we dont want to support Antisemites ! Poor South Africa - you will pay a heavy price - but if you want it, there you go !
29. @1&4 - agree 100%
disgusted sth africn ,   pta, sa   (05.20.12)
SA govt shows clear lack of understanding of both economics (micro picture) and history (macro picture). To worsen matters, they obviously don't read their bibles (particularly re the consequences of not blessing/ cursing Israel). As a (non-jewish) sa voter, I distance myself completely from this action. SA govt should rather focus on cleaning up the messes in their backyard (and their are many) before venturing into situations they lack any capacity on.
30. boycott
joemoer ,   israel   (05.20.12)
weird that the south africans dont see fit to make into law where all products come from ...lets take the northern part of cyprus as an example...are the products of that area marked correctly? as an ex south african i am deely worried about the moving towards radical islam of the african continent and in particular south africa ..another worrying problem in south africa are the recurrent xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals ...so come on world ..instead of debating the problems in south africa ..the south african government shifts the focus and continues with the lie... that israel practices apartheid ..arabs are in the army,in the government in every sector of life in israel...i am talking about israeli arabs...so where exactly is the apartheid..it sounds weird but south africa is practicing apartheid against whites of the country and against foreigners..i want to see a free south africa ..how long will we wait to see that dream??
