31. OBSERVANCE
Joel ,   New York USA   (05.22.12)
If we are going to talk about equality and making sure all Jews can use the Hotel Torah/Shul then we must uphold guidelines that do just that. Observance doesn't make one more or less Jewish, that is something Jews that participate in the reform/conservative movts need to learn and truly embrace, because they accuse those who are Observant ("ultra orthodox") as believing them not to be Jewish because they aren't as observant. That is "projection", pure and simple. my mother converted and I was raised conservative and I'm going through a Observant ("ultra-orthdox") conversion to a ger.
32. Please publish list of the hotels that discriminate
E. ,   Israel   (05.22.12)
.... so I will go there!! I will just go to hotels with synagoges that follow REAL judaism! And not some kind of new invented religions like the conservative or reform ....
33. @31 Ger is a process not a religion.
Israel ,   Israel   (05.22.12)
Once you convert you are a Jew not a Ger. There is no such religion as Ger.
34. Conservative Judaism =Reform Judaism

When I was in a small town the local Conservative Rabbi was angry that I lived in walking distance to the Synagogue and said. Here we are liberal conservative and drive to Temple on the Sabbath. You will change. With women Rabbis and egalitarian services have destroyed the right wing of Conservative Judaism. Most of these have gone to form new Orthodox shuls
35. Reading this article scares me
Debbie ,   Israel   (05.22.12)
I'm afraid we are becoming more and more like Iran everyday. From a proud woman who is a Conservative Jew, wears a Talit with pride and who's heart fills with love when called to the Torah.
36. Now IF only I can get them to...
Gideon Reader   (05.22.12)
...make me three inches taller and fifty pounds lighter. and increase my ability to, er, well whatever; one could say that they are a meaningful organization. What blather. Can't they go build a model airplane or watch some TV or something useful?

Your egalitarian Conservative Judaism has decimated the right wing of Conservative Judaism. Many of these traditional conservative Rabbis that opposed egalitarian services have become Orthodox or formed the Union of Traditional Judaism
38. conservatives are not a "branch" of judaism

First of all I don't understand what the problem is with homosexuals. second, I'm sure your have plenty of homosexuals Rabbis - but they are still in the "closet" What about Yeshiva Rabbis that commit sexual abuse in the Yeshiva? Or since they commit it against children they aren't considered homosexual? I consider any child abuser sick and they shouldn't be allowed near a torah. Please understand I do not put homosexuals in the same light as a child abuser - I was only telling you, that since some Yeshiva Rabbis have come to light as sexual abusing children, and since it is male rabbis and male students - well you do the math. A homosexual is no different than any other person and I would be happy to pray with one as my rabbi or next to me. I wouldn't even think about it. Never would have if you didn't bring it up. BUT to pray with a child abuser or rapist - that is unclean. Stop throwing stones in our direction and start cleaning up your own house
