1. why give this idiot the time of day
Shalom ,   Ashdod, IL   (05.21.12)
where did he crawl from? which tent? Who cares what this idiot says we always knew that it is pointless to discuss peace with Arabs; they understand ONLY one language: FORCE. Hashem is with us and we have NOTHING to fear so, you rabid dog keep on barking.
2. The mark of the beast
Johnny ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (05.21.12)
3. Hamas no peace with Israel
Max Epstein ,   Melbourne Australia   (05.21.12)
This guy has crap for brains!!
4. Hudna ...a word that escapes the liberal understanding
Galut ia ,   Selah   (05.21.12)
Those that want peace in the mid-east so bad fail to understand the Islamic concept ... it is not a permanent peace but rather a truce to allow the Islamic forces time to gain the upper hand to finish the job...in this case the complete elimination of Israel... it is time for the liberal to pull their heads out of the sand !
5. "Hudna", in Arabic, means truce that is meant to be broken,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (05.21.12)
as Muhammad demonstrated to his followers back in the 7th century when Islam came into being. The time to break it is when the Muslims have gathered enough strength to pursue the very thrust of their mission. Hence, not a single Muslim-Arab leader with whom Israel has negotiated has been willing to accept a "peace treaty" as the "end of the conflict" and "the end of all future demands". Note, in 1967, when the Muslim-Arabs, after they had signed cease fire with Israel in 1949, felt they had enough strength to annihilate Israel, they initiated the Six-Day War, which they lost, but their commitment to the armistice, of course, was demonstrated as hallow words only. That was also a "hudna" from their perspective...!!
6. That's unacceptable
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.21.12)
It's all or nothing. But with thirty competing ersatz "Palestinian" factions, peace was never a possibility anyway. Nice idea, didn't work, time to move on. Start with the annexation of Judea and Samaria and the repatriation of its Arab residents to Jordan, country of their citizenship.
7. There is no "Palestinian" nation.
Jules   (05.21.12)
8. "historic Palestinian land "
Zev ,   Israel   (05.21.12)
Where is that??
9. Mr Marzouk should negotiate not with Israel but Egypt
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.21.12)
The great majority of Gaza strips population and Sinai bedouins east of Wadi el Arish line are close relatives. Unlike the egyptians and rest of palestinians they are not fellahim ( land cultivating peoples ) but stock breeders. And excellent merchants along the ancient main road of the ME. Caravan routes from Cairo to Damascus went across their territory since 5000 years. But there was a large caravan seray in the oasis of El Arish, where tolls had to be paid for the rulers of Egypt. So this was the border between Egypt and Kanaan. With such a history why can not live bedouins in a united state with Gaza arabs ? Who has a rational answer for this please do it !
10. Well, that about sums it up . . .
Nick ,   Sweden   (05.21.12)
I'm just waiting for the next peacenik moron to start ranting about Israel being the only obstacle to lasting peace.
11. # 5 Did you ever Read Mosha Dyan's
ben   (05.21.12)
Account of 1967 . Michael Oren says there is some truth to it.
12. #6 wrong!
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.21.12)
Peres, Sharon, Olmert, Barak and now even Netanyahu are begging the Arabs to agree to take land in exchange for a Hudna. Our luck is that the Arab leaders want more.
13. "Gaza" no solution but the good solution !
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (05.21.12)
"Gaza" has a population present growth that is a real time bomb. In due time BOOOM. To avoid that stupid creation "GAZA" The UN with the "new" Egypt nation must move the so called "Gazans" to Sinai the logical space of origin. There they will have the space to live in Peace. All the rest is just an UTOPIAN dream.
14. So will there be peace?
Yael Schlichting ,   Qiryat Motzkin   (05.21.12)
We only can make peace with a future Arab state of Palestine. If there will be no peace, there cannot be an Arab state in Palestine. Full stop!
15. @7 Jules, the sad part is a gullible "world" buys it.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (05.21.12)
Hook, line, and sinker. Which is why Israel shouldn't concern itself too much with upsetting the delicate balance of things.
16. To: Israel Israeli at No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.21.12)
The others possibly yes, Netanyahu no. A resounding no. What he has rather cleverly done is allow the ersatz "Palestinians" to paint themselves into a corner. Over and over again. The grand coup in all this is forcing their hand to approach the United Nations unilaterally, where the ersatz "Palestinians" received the humiliation of all humiliations. But this one works, too. The ersatz "Palestinians" are scorpions in a bottle. They have done everything within their power to make sure that the world realizes it, too. I'm loving it!
17. I don't recognize marzouk as a human life form, so there.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.21.12)
18. In that case..
Ram ,   London   (05.21.12)
is there any other logical solutin than the annexation of the WB and taking back of Sinai, when its enemies clearly state their long term goal is Israel's destruction? Just how dependent are you on the US Israel?
19. ben Did you read Nassers publicly stated intentions in 67?
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (05.21.12)
It was to wipe out Israel, echoed by daddy Assad. It was Nasser that kicked out the UN peacekeepers not Israel. It was Nasser that blockaded Israel not the other way around Dayan ? The Arabs tried to force the caesefire lines as borders, something they had no right to do,it was no mans land.It was the Arabs that insisted on no recognised borders. They refused after they lost the 67 war as well. Remember the 3 NOs of Khartoum? Your innuendo for the Arabs is just that! Try to wipe out Israel expect consequences! Dhimmis ain't what they used to be,live with it.!
20. EXACTLY why Israel should never give away land to Arabs.....
Islam 101 ,   Zion   (05.21.12)
Because sooner or later they take back their "peace" but we will never get back our land. Eventually the same area will be used as a launching ground for war. The west is ignorant but Israelis (even leftists) should understand this. We need Judea & Samaria as a buffer zone against a future attack by Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iran.....
21. Hey !
Marc ,   Nice, France   (05.21.12)
Hey ! What did you expect ?? ;-)
22. Any peace deal would be truce...
Marc ,   Nice, France   (05.21.12)
Then any new war should be conclusive...
23. So is this the peace that Israel is supposed to give ALL up
Alan ,   SA   (05.21.12)
for?Let the EU and Obama Regime go drink from the Dead Sea as the proverb says!
24. Euro lefties. Are you listenning?Just keep sending more Euros
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (05.21.12)
Somehow there is no financial crisis where sending money to your proletariat is concerned.
25. Historic Palestine is an oxymoron. Their covenant says Arab
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (05.21.12)
land. Which explains exactly where the Arab invaders came from
26. # 19 You make some good points but I missed the
ben   (05.21.12)
part about the IDF attack on Samu in November 1966 or the part about the false reports Egypt got from the Soviets, or the part about the surprise attack on Egypt by Israel. Have you ever read Benny Moriss and the New historians. How bout The Israel Lobby and US Foreign policy by Mearsheimer and Walt
27. will any non-Israeli news outlet carry this?
rebecca ,   Modiin   (05.21.12)
Or would it upset their Liberal view of the oh so nice peaceful Arabs?
28. I think that if the truce is long enough
Yossef   (05.21.12)
and if we establish economical and cultural relation with the independent state of Gaza, the truce may transform itself in peace, with time. Let the time do its work.
29. ben Samu was a limited RETALIATORY strike, not on Egypt.
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (05.21.12)
but on the WB after a Fatah attack on Israelis PM Eshkol sent repeated warnings to Nasser to desist from the blockade. It was an act of war. How many warnings to Nasser were enough? Yes I have read Morris extensively. You may want to read his letter tio the Irish times about Israel haters misquoting his work. Neither Pappe nor Shlaim are historians. The book by Walt & Mearsheimer was disowned by Harvard, they did not interview any Congressmen for their non scientific conclusions. It is nothing but propoganda. I know you have to get your propoganda in for your side but what has W&M got to do with Hamas and their rejection of peace.,? The majority of the American people, as VALID stastical surveys show, support Israel not your side,no matter how many millions the Arab lobby spends. If it was only money ,petro trillions would have bought you the whole USA long ago.
30. Won't recognize Israel...
Beary White ,   Norway   (05.21.12)
The time for removal of hamassss ass is closing in. This terror-group must be removed/moved to Libya's desert. The group is a craddle for terror , violence and death, and survives just by international fundings. Target killings....
