Well, since the only people who have ever been considered true Palestinians are the Jewish people, I suppose he is talking about Jewish land; i.e., the State of Israel.
32. #26 what surprise attack?
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.21.12)
A dose of reality might make your posts more interesting. Israel made no surprise attack on Egypt. In 1967 Egypt demanded and received the withdrawal of UN troops from Sinai and started a blockade on the Straits of Tiran and Suez Canal. These three actions are legally actions of a shooting war. Israel's air attack was not a "surprise attack" but a fully legal defensive act. Samu 1966: Like Egypt with their Fedayun, Jordan was using Fatah forces stationed in Samu for attacks on Israeli civilians. In this way, Jordan and Egypt could protest their innocence while attacking Israel. As for your reading list, you could add something more credible like Rachkovsky's "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"

been recognized by good and intelligent people is ok.; but recognition from assasins and thieves thank you don` t needed.
34. Why Is hamas's So-Called leader's
(05.21.12)
Scattered about? bedouins have no roots and neither does their modern day brethren. Where is lady ashton? Where is the amir of qatr? Just yesterday this arab monarch stated Israel had to make concessions, why did he just say all Jews Should just slit their throats so the arabs don't have to. Where is b.H.o. on these Blatent admissions of Never having Lasting Peace. How can Israel's Government have true peace Without a Peace Partner? Like Sarah B said when will Israel decide to move on, forget about world oppinion because the world really doesn't care. They are just trying to put on a polically correct face, Hallow,Empty words.
35. Too Bad, So Sad
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (05.21.12)
As if anyone cares what Hamas recognizes or not. They are yesterday's news and will be living in violent squalor while Israel continues to thrive.
36. "We will not recognize Israel as a state,"
Maurice ,   Montreal   (05.21.12)
Then continue rotting as you have been since Israel left Gaza. And that is what your people deserve since they have voted for you!
37. Iranian poodle
Saam Yehuda   (05.21.12)
Irans real intentions exposed for the naive - Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said today threats and pressures cannot deter Iran from its revolutionary causes and ideals, and stressed that the Iranian nation will remain committed to the full annihilation of the Zionist regime of Israel to the end. - Fars News Agency, 20th May 2012
38. Hamas & Judea
Mike ,   Haifa   (05.21.12)
The entire Hamas leadership must be eliminated. Our PR efforts must be enhanced. We have to remind the world (and ourselves) that there was never a Palestinian people and identity. There was never a claim to the land beside that of the Jewish people's and therefore any partition or concession is an outright robbery of the Jewish People's national heritage. As part of this PR effort, we should stop calling ourselves Jews or Jewish which in the English language has been corrupted and does not convey the full meaning of the word Yehudi in Hebrew. We should start calling ourselves Judeans which does covey the essence of the word Yehudi from Yehuda. Thus in our daily conversations and in our writings and talk-backs we should use Judean for he words Jew and Jewish.

Add Six Days of War by Michael Oren to your reading list. He writes about Samu, etc, as well as a pre-emptive strike by the Egyptians which was cancelled at the last minute (almost literally).
41. # 29 32 WOW so we are comparing the Protocols
ben   (05.21.12)
of Zion to the best seller The Israel Lobby and US foreign Policy. Legetimate retalitory strike. I believe most of the world calls it terrorism. Even Ben Gurion critisized the attack on Samu. Those villagers had nothing to do with the roadside bomb that killed the three Israel patrol in the military vehicle. Surprise attack I guess Pearl Harbor Wasn't a surprise attack after all the US did cut off Japan's oil
42. Hudna?
Jeff ,   USA   (05.21.12)
Why would Israel make tangible concessions of land, airspace and water in exchange for an intangible promise of a "hudna" (a ceasefire)? Unless there is a peace agreement to end the conflict once and for all, along with appropriate mechanisms to insure compliance and security, there is no reason for Israel to make any concessions whatsoever. Hamas' position of "give me half the loaf today, so I can fight for the other half later on," is nonsensical.
43. # 28
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (05.21.12)
"the truce may transform itself in peace, with time. Let the time do its work." I admire your idealism, I really do, but having studied Islam myself I can tell you that your view is naive. The Koran and Haditha clearly state that a hudna is supposed to last no longer than 10 years. A hudna maybe "renewed" in the event the Islamic state is militarily unable to conquer, but peace with Dar Al-Harb (literally House of War, meaning any nation that isn't Islamic) is expressly forbidden. Muslims are bound to jihad until the entire world is Dar Al-Islam (Islamic) and there is worship for no god but Allah. You're trying to rationalize Islamic actions with Western values. The two are incompatible.

solomon ,   bklyn   (05.21.12)
The attack on the Egyptians was a surprise attack. Surprise attacks are what commanders aim for. The Israeli's surprise attack succeeded; no apologies. Luckily, the Egyptians had canceled theirs a week before. A surprise attack is considered illegal, however, if war had not been declared. The war had already begun with Egypt's closing of the straits. But Japan had not declared war on the US. Closing the straits is an act of war. Cutting off the supply of oil is not. The attack on Samu was meant to retaliate against those supporting the fedayeen. ("Those villagers had nothing to do with the roadside bomb that killed the three Israel patrol in the military vehicle" Amazing how you know the 'truth'.) Most of the villagers evacuated their homes as told. The plan went awry when a Jordanian army column appeared. And how did the Protocols get into this conversation? And how does being a best seller guarantee its truth? You may as well compare The Israel Lobby to the Protocols. Oh, but you already did that, didn't you.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.22.12)
The mistake that you -- and a lot of people -- make is that you see the ersatz "Palestinians" as one unified group. They are not. There are roughly thirty organizations, each of which purports to be the sole true representative of the ersatz "Palestinian" people. What all of these disparate organizations have in common is that each of their charters call for the destruction of the State of Israel. The radical organizations call for the extermination of the Jews. The so-called "moderate" organizations call for the expulsion of the Jews. Just because one or another ersatz "Palestinian" organization is flavor of the month one day does not necessarily mean that the other organizations agree, and the volatility of their internal politics and theory is such that it would be foolish for Israel to trust any of them. Fatah could easily be replaced by Islamic Jihad, which would immediately repudiate any cease-fire agreement, leaving Israel with an unpleasant choice to make. And if they refuse to recognize the State of Israel -- one of the few things the ersatz "Palestinian" organizations agree upon -- then why bother negotiating anything?
46. #6 That's unacceptable
ltrail ,   United States   (05.25.12)
Judea and Samaria (aka what the Pals call WB) belongs to the State of Israel already. If the so-called palestinians want their own state, let them carve it out of TransJordan. Done.
47. Hamas
ltrail ,   United States   (05.25.12)
Never, ever, trust hamas or other PA agents. Lately they are trying to appear respectable. But.......
