1. KEEP on dreaming!
Israeli 2   (05.21.12)
The REAL king will know what to do. This so called "king" has no clue. He is a clown compared to the real one. Sorry BIBI, but you are no King. of ISRAEL.
2. fool
(05.21.12)
stupid
3. The Messiah
Simon ,   Makati, Philippines   (05.21.12)
The Messiah is a King. Why not?
4. TIME were idiots, and this column extends the idiocy

5. Deuteronomy 17 : 14-20
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (05.21.12)
The mizvot to appoint a king is as essential to Judaism as is a bris, kosher, shabbat or Yom Kippur, yet many people would be horrified if these four mitzvot were ignored whilst mocking the need for the first. The prophesied command and control structure for the Holy Land is in fact a monarchy. (Think constitutional more than absolute.) This structure will be of benefit to all the people in the State of Israel, the Diaspora, the Middle East and the World. Interested readers should look up.. "The Special Status of the Davidic Dynasty" by Rav Mosheh Lichtenstein.
6. Why?
Mikael ,   Sweden   (05.21.12)
Why does ynetnews.com insist on publishing at least one really childishly ridiculus piece a day?
7. Ynet - find some decent articles - not this rubbish.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (05.21.12)
8. Silly, Ridiculous
Robert ,   USA   (05.21.12)
9. Why do Ynet News hire clowns instaed of serious Journalists.
Ari-Jerusalem   (05.21.12)
Ynet News cannot stand Nataniahu and is traying by all means to create an adverse Public Opinion and undermine it against the will of most Israelies The time of the left is finished, their ideas also. In History everything has it's timming. In the beguinings leftists were needed most of emigrants came from Poland or Russia, were pogroms were the reality. And Jews starting to emigrate to Palestine and return to the Homeland. Most of these wqere intelectuals, labor leaders, anarchists etc etc. They had their time which was important. But since the World was developing so was the situation later in Israel. Then came the globalisation and new forms of government different from the leftist who at the long run demonstrated that their economicall model was a failure. Probably in some years to come the world will find a better economic model with more human values and that also will be reflected on Israel Society. In the meantime we should all unite arround the government, because what's comming in the actual world would be difficult to handle without a United Israel and Jewish Backup Here and abroad
10. another childish article under the guise of journalis by Yne
Amiad ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (05.21.12)
11. The article may be mediocre or worse...
Devorah   (05.21.12)
but, perhaps, Hashem used it as a vehicle for #5's (Adam Neira) most interesting comment and recommendation.
12. For Nahumke a King &Central Committee and red flag would be
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.21.12)
just fine, I'm sure....:-))
13. Failed to collapse the govt?
Akiva ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.21.12)
Are you crying because with all the effort of the media and the justice system you failed to collapse another right wing government? It's not democracy if your people don't stay in power? Wake up, this is EXACTLY what democracy is.
14. No feudal like an old feudal
Ilan   (05.21.12)
Is this Ben Caspit, Aharon Abromivitch, Nachum Barnea or .... Hard to keep track of all of these jesters. They all sound the same since revolution and they old order of Labor fiefdoms started to collapse.
15. If there were a toungue in cheek.....
Buskila ,   South America   (05.21.12)
unproductive if ever. I accept some satire, cynicism, even journalistic narcissism, but a fade humour, which has no taste and character shouldn't be allowed to show its moronic face on the Yediot Akharonot (the stress is on akharonot, which could be anciant, primitive like in rishonim....but not so cool and provocativle attractive). Please take your smart to a level admited to a mature and 21st century public, not the old Shtetl humour (read Y.L. Peretz, and Micha Bardichevsky).
16. One of the major problems of this King is...
Michael ,   Haifa   (05.21.12)
....the Queen
17. Foolishness
michael Pielet ,   israel   (05.21.12)
another example of the biased, foolish Israeli press. You are just jealous and envious.
18. ....however Barnea was in support of Arik Sharon Kingship
Marco ,   Spain   (05.21.12)
.......and he did so enthusiastically unlike this time because it suited his political leanings So King or not, it is a fluid term used or not by Barnea whenever he wants to support or denigrate a political adversary
19. a pawn or a knight?....to be or not to be
J.Gedalov ,   Israel   (05.21.12)
"A king does not have to face elections:... A king doesn’t need a party: There are no central committee meetings. There are no primaries. A king doesn’t need a 30-member government." .. in chess for example, a king cant be promote when you reach the last row on the board...you can lose a pawn to save the king as Netanyahu said a few days ago in his speech. But, was he talking about himself or about monarchys in the Middle East?
20. Boy, you leftists ARE sore loosers!
GF ,   IL   (05.21.12)
21. Bad try Not amusing sour grapes
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.21.12)
There will be elections in a little more than a year. Nahum Barnea can then vote for Meretz again. Why is he complaining?
22. KING BIBI
Ron ,   New York   (05.21.12)
I wish to know which remedial junior high school class contributed this article. I cannot believe the lack of journalistic basics this article demonstrates. Find some credible writers that passed social studies.
23. great sense of humour 16
J.Gedalov ,   Israel   (05.21.12)
but, in jewish tradition no body talks about King David, Shaul or Salomon wifes as queens....
24. #9 very well said
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (05.21.12)
You took my words straight from my keyboard. To Nahum Barnea: extremely manipulative and biased opinion. Not you see that only red apparatchiks are excited about the cover of Time Magazine? And no people behind them
25. what?
marcelo tuchman ,   RIO,BRAZIL   (05.21.12)
this is totally stupid. in monarchys in ME, people dont have rights. Israel is tottally democratic,Bibi made alliances, what makes him strong than ever, but elections will happen, and he can or cannot be reelected. War with Iran will not happen anymore,Tehran will accept 3,5 enrichment. Bibi have a victory in this, and will use that in the new campaign. He will be elected with more than 65% of the votes. Democratly.
26. #20 you rightist are delusional
Haim ,   TA   (05.21.12)
Time to take a reality pill dear.
27. Well, you have to admit........
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (05.21.12)
........that some of the analogies are a bit worrying.
28. A king may not be a bad thing
Sagi   (05.21.12)
and as for Metternich he helped maintain a strong and powerful nation, nothing wrong with that. Rasputin was a psychopath and a very dangerous one at that, so I do not think that the analogy is pertinent, although our abberants are definately to be condemned and ousted from public office. As for kings, Israel would do very well indeed to have a latter day Henry viii or Liz i to create order in the "realm". The present situation and the events taking place are symptoms of an illness, an illness must be tackled at source, otherwise it will fester and get worse. A king with an iron fist would be able to do the job.
29. # 28
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (05.21.12)
Kings are so hopelessly outdated. You are describing a Machiavellian ruler. If you ever have the occassion, I can really recommend reading his 'Discourses on Livy' and 'The Prince'. There are, btw, more western countries who could benefit from his approach.
30. KING BIBI THE FIRST
SUPERMORTAL ,   BALTIMORE,USA   (05.21.12)
The only difference between a Democracy and a Monarchy... with a Democracy you can vote out the Incompetent but with a Monarchy your stuck with the Incompetent for life. Besides Israel tried that whole king thing before, just read the TANACH to know how that worked out. We should not be willing to repeat the mistakes of the past!
