3. The safest city worth applauding.
Michael ,   California, USA   (05.22.12)
Accolades are due to Tel Aviv for being a very safe city. Maybe it is becoming less so in the southern part, as the latest events prove? I still think Tel Aviv is safer by far than most of the large U.S. cities. And I know the mayor of Tel Aviv will not rest until the southern part of the city recovers its good reputation.
4. Tel Aviv is indeed a beautiful Israeli beach city.
Israeli 2   (05.22.12)
Cancun in the Yucatan Peninsula is also very beautiful BUT not as VIBRANT as Tel-Aviv! Tel Aviv pashut Maxima.
5. Hurray for Tel Aviv!
rivkah f. ,   Jerusalem   (05.22.12)
I live in Jerusalem and it is unique and the best but I do love Tel Aviv though I would not want to live there. It is a great place to visit & enjoy, especially the museums, cultural activities, the beach, etc. Now let's have some pro-Jerusalem articles too.
6. Greatest accomplishment?
Ilan   (05.22.12)
Not sure what makes Tel Aviv better than Petach Tikva or Gedera. It is one indistinguishable urban sprawl and other cities within that sprawl are better designed and managed.
7. My problem with Tel Aviv
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (05.22.12)
The metropolis has an extraordinally good location on the seashore. But the Tel Aviv beach, with the hotels now has a little poor appeareance. Buildings were build in a 50 years period, small houses are varied with 1960-70 "skyscrapers" A totally new beach should be constructed, with parks and real high buildings. All old hotels should be demolished and with the new buildings and carefully planned parks on the beach Tel Aviv has a good chance to win nr 1 title among maritime metropolis of the world.

To number 3.You are missing the point. It's not about the '' South''thing. The police just arrested an Israeli paedophile (A high-tech exec) But that's ok, he's not from Sudan. Wake -up!

11. Now: Haifa!
Zeev, Haifa   (05.22.12)
After Jerusalem and Tel Aviv,- Now Haifa. The sanest city in Israel...
12. Well done TA....but the City of the future?
Tim ,   Brighton   (05.22.12)
Beersheba In the heart of the ancient Kingdom of King David With masses of space to grow And ten years from now? A City of 0.75m - 1m A vital Railway Hub connecting North and South A Beersheba International Airport An Urban Ring Road and possibly a Metro New Parks and great Suburban Lidos A transformed vibrant skyline And with the new airport and infrastructure will come a massive influx of High Tech Businesses concentrated in the Beersheba Ashkelon Ashdod Triangle Not to mention a tiny but growing Contemporary Music Hub creating amazing sounds in Dimona-Beersheba And yet...given the price of real estate will remain possibly one of the best areas for best value affordable housing in Israel In short not everything is happening in TA....
13. TA $in city
arab   (05.22.12)
14. The city doesn't need skyscarppers
Jack ,   Montreal, Canada   (05.22.12)
or as I like to call them skycrapers! The Bauhaus architectural heritage of the city is what makes it so unique. I agree that they need to modernize it a bit. Some structures really need face lifts. It has a similar feel to Miami Beach and should not relinquish that look. There's plenty of green spaces where people meet and walk their dogs along ben yehuda street. Unless the towers your referring to should be placed in the center of town near the disraeli tower, then yes...
15. beautiful beaches but...

Sounds like the 'heavenly world' has got a big stick up his bum. Do us a favor and just don't got there. Let us enjoy all the 'buildings' in peace without assholes like you thinking they know what's good for everyone because they're too stupid to think for themselves. Enjoy being a slave to a 1300 year old book.
