Problem solved, she and her lawyer looks like men but with wigs.

Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Gush Etzion   (05.24.12)
Orthodox, women do not dress provocatively. this is not a matter of "breast size" but of fitting in to the business culture. Were she to have been working at Hooters, for instance, she would be expected to show off her figure and quite provocatively at that. This situation smells of another woman trying to gain cheap publicity and funding at the expense of embarrassing a business establishment, this time a Charedi one. This is also another misuse of socalled "freedom" under leftwing "anything goes" policy so prevalent in the USA and western Europe.
4. Dress Code
NYC Girl   (05.24.12)
First of all, her employers are Orthodox...they're not Haredi, so the title is misleading. Secondly, Reuters didn't point out the fact that his woman is also Jewish and, as such, should have had some inkling that her outfits were way beyond the bounds of modestly to her Orthodox employers. But even if her employers weren't religious, her choice of outfits for the office was so inappropriate, she's lucky that bad taste isn't a capital offense. As far as whether they have the right to fire her, every employer has the right to enforce a dress code. And, lastly, Gloria Allred is an attention whore, so it's not surprising this case would appeal to her since, predictably, it's been all over the media.
5. Hypocrite "Orthodox"
Mike ,   Jerusalem   (05.24.12)
What hypocritical so called "orthodox" owners of "Native Intimates." They accuse an employee of dressing immodestly when they sell intimates? Hope they get what they deserve. PS I am not against businesses selling intimates; I am very against hypocracy in the orthodox world.
6. osama's musings

osama, you may be on to something...needs further investigation.
7. These Haredi -
Mahmoud Ibrahim ,   Cairo, Egypt   (05.24.12)
- Are whatever that is left of the true righteous Jewish people; they support well-dressing, circumcision, oppose gays, disgraceful pork eaters we want them to live with us, if only we could swap them with the other infidels we currently have, things would've been better.
8. Another Haredi accomplishment!
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (05.24.12)
Fired for immodesty! That loudmouth Gloria Allred will take this thing to the press, and smear Judaism and Israeli's. The Haredi community, whether living here, or elsewhere, just don't seem to get it. We don't live in your world, we share the same space. Disregarding ethics, and in this case law, by firing a woman for her dress and figure, demonstrates really poor judgment.

E. G. Marsch ,   Nahariya, Israel   (05.24.12)
Lauren really doesn't look too hot to me. I could forgo some of the bust if she would effectuate a general trimming-down. No, seriously...employers can have a dress code, right? Last I checked, you can't go to most jobs in a bathing suit. Who knows what kind of sizzling getups Lauren was wearing. In fact, such things really are distracting and can derogate from one's ability to concentrate and work effectively.

17. A DRESS CODE OR STANDARD IS REASONABLE IN A BUSINESS!
Riva ,   Israel   (05.24.12)
In general, there are MANY businesses and government work places that require a standard of dress ergo "solutions for the above problem". Take for examples lawyers, doctors, mail men, etc. The WHOLE idea of work is to conduct business, and if the dress of the worker, be it provocative or inappropriate distrubs the business in any way, then it should the right of the business to set that standard. The worker can simply work at a place where her dress/figure helps another business. Further, there are many Hareidi "big" women working with no problem because they choose clothing which are loose and of more modest style than this woman seems to have worn. For example, many wear a vest over the top. the same standard should apply to well shaped men who should for example not wear tight jeans.
18. @ # 5
jo b ,   israel   (05.24.12)
# 5, thats gotta be one of the dumbest comments ever written. so what if they are orthodox and selling lingerie. big deal. its not illegal to sell it or wear it. if you were married and orthodox you might begin to understand that religious, non-religious, jewish not jewish people wear these type of things in intimate situations. there is a time and a place. now in regards to the "time and place" theme, there is a time to dress provacativly (bars, nightclubs etc) and there is a time to dress like a proffesional (work etc). lets see gloria allred that hypocrite walk into her courtroom dressed like a stripper and see what the judge tells her about respecting the courtroom. the same should go for respecting a workplace and the people that work there... irrelevant of their religious beliefs.
19. Oh please ...most of you have no idea of what America is all
Al   (05.24.12)
about. America today is poor, unemployed and a has been. In this context, everyone and their two bit lawyer is looking for an excuse for something or other. The lawyer Alred is a loud mouth idiot who is always looking for her 15 minutes of glogy. As to the women, oh please chances are she will be modelling for Hustler Playboy or some other rag in short time to show off her tities. Its all about BS.
20. Just spell my name right
Sidney ,   USA   (05.24.12)
"I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right". Both Odes and the company will profit from the publicity.
21. It's not the dress that's the legal problem
Zach ,   Eugene, OR   (05.24.12)
Yes, dress codes are legal, but remember that she was also asked to tape down her breasts to make them smaller. That is 100% sexual discrimination, and she has every right to go to court over it.
22. NYS is an "employment at will" state.
JMK ,   NYC   (05.24.12)
This means that the employer can fire an employee at any time for any reason with very few exceptions, those being constitutional.
23. big breasts
frank ,   Israel   (05.24.12)
she admitted she was warned several times, and she still didn't listen, hooters won a case against them giving them the right to hire women with big breasts over small ones as well as beautiful women over ugly ones, i think this women who had a temp job is looking for a way to make money by scamming. as you see she doesnt have a perm. job so i can think she isnt educated to have a real career. and thus no real future
24.  Her problem is "breast size"
Raptor   (05.24.12)
Theirs is "brain size".
25. 12Haredi women happen to wear ...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (05.24.12)
lingerie and feel more safe to buy it in an orthodox shop.
26. #11
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.24.12)
She was sent by a temp agency and she worked for only seven days. My guess is she was fired for incompetence and the only way she can sue for compensation is by alleging discrimination at the hands of Jews.
27. what kind of idiot question is that
#12 daft ,   World   (05.24.12)
even in this forum that is dealing so much with attacking "haredim" due to the provocative way Ynet articulates the phrase instead of with the real issue of not complying with dress code/
28. No. 8 Yakov
NYC Girl   (05.24.12)
While I agree that this won't do much to make Orthodox Jews look good, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Israel. This is about American Jews in New York. And since Israel is a secular state it can't be held responsible for what religious Jews do anywhere else in the world. Not only that, but Allred will most likely lose this case because employers have a right to enforce a dress code and she obviously wasn't fired summarily, but rather she was put on notice that her outfits were beyond the bounds of propriety, but she chose to ignore what was being said to her.
29. How does one tape down breasts?
Rio ,   New York   (05.24.12)
interesting..
30. Complicated
George ,   USA   (05.24.12)
There are 2 sides. One side probably is trying not to be lured by a woman who is not married to him. The other side is not aware of and does not understand what the heck is going on. For her, she starts to work somewhere and then they fire her without it having to do with what she thought her work was about. It is difficult. But the Orthodox Jews are correct in discouraging provocative dress because it leads to a reduction in the sanctity of marriage. Basically, the Orthodox Jews are correct but the world is not even close. The difficulty comes because they want to hire and do business with outsiders so they have a difficult position.
