31. As if our own Jewish leaders are any better
Benjamin ,   TA Israel   (05.23.12)
The only advantage they have - they don't call for killing of other nationals. The rest is the same - poorly educated thieves, lairs, sociopaths, hypocrites, religious fundamentalists posing as moral compasses, mired with bribery, criminal connections, cronyism and more and more. And we, Jew Israeli tolerate them. Because we would behave the same in their place. Otherwise we would be fraers, which is fate worse than death for Israeli. Until we stop trying to take advantage of each over the situation will perpetuate itself.
32. "unmasked as an anti-Zionist agent provocateur"
esnuffnstl ,   USA   (05.23.12)
Nah, just a typical hate-filled bigot with a massive inferiority complex.
33. Possibly the most hope inspiring article on ynet
Daniel ,   Boston   (05.23.12)
It was quite a while since I've read an article AND the comments are both insightful, inteligent and most importantly not filled with hate (with, so far, very few exceptions in the comments). Unfortunately, intelligent and well educated people rarely go into politics. After all politics are dirty. But the politics are dirty precisely because no inteligent, educated people tend to go into politics. Still I hope that people like Jara go into politics and start a REAL Arab spring in Israel, in which they will endorse democratic values. With that will come the understanding of the Jewish state, and integrations into its society. As Jews, we should support such a movement, and then we really will be a light unto the nations.
34. Jara: I second #26. Kol ha'kavod.

Arabs are human beings, whether you think so or not. The IDF has a respect for them concerning their abilities. I respect the IDF's opinion more than yours. Many arabs are intelligent. Not all Jews are. Your prejudice is showing.
36. #23 - I find that the term "hasbara' means...
William ,   Israel   (05.23.12)
From posters like you who give knee-jerk definitions of "hasbara" to things, that the term means "factual truth that anti-Israel proponents want to ignore or attack without comparative facts or discussion".
37. #36 william - excellent definition.
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.23.12)
38. Mr. Jara is starting to realize and Rami has already done so
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.23.12)
That their best interests are represented by people that have similar goals. I know that Rami of Nazareth has already gotten this fact and I think Mr. Jara is starting to. We are Israelis - not Jewish Israelis or Arab Israelis but just plain Israelis. We need to work together to make this a better country for our children and grandchildren. That means more equal rights and equal responsibilities. Is that truly too much to ask for or too hard to understand?
39. #35. Look around Solomon, so many Arab countries, with long
tom ,   tel aviv   (05.24.12)
history and one trait persist: no democratic aspirations whatsoever combined with perverse penchant for violence (within families, within community, within the region). I wouldn't seriously propose to be a judge of their mental abilities ( I guess as individuals they're just as capable as I am) Remember the reason you're being aked to take off your shoes at world's airports. Now in all honesty: do you believe that, had a Jewish movement of any kind, been responsible for a 100'th of the deaths and mayhem that the peace-loving Arabs are, you'd be allowed to freely move around your lovely Brooklyn? Or for that matter any Jew, any place on this planet? Don't kid yourself, unless you're a 13 year old child living in a "progressive" home with your highly academic parents :-))
40. Excellent talkbacks, brother Salomon.

Your post #27 gave blanket condemnation of all arabs. General history and individuals can be different, and arabs do not deserve blanket condemnation; neither do we, although some of ours have also proven to be not the nicest kind of people. Many arab countries do have an educated elite who do not follow sharia; many non-educated prefer not to follow sharia. Morocco has a king, yes, but no sharia. The world is not black and white, as you seem to paint it. It is grey. Look around some more. You'd be surprised.

Kind words are always appreciated. Thank you.

I think that the article gives ample evidence against your talkback. Arabs need new people? I think Jara is one of them. Clearly education and the 'Western' social system in place in Israel benefited his mind very well.
