almost no taxes and great hospitality for arabs.
4. What about the illegal additions?
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (05.23.12)
Many, if not most homes in Arab towns in the north have illegal additions that aren't counted for the arnona. Isn't that enough of a "tax break"? On the other hand, if residents of Arab towns in the periphery are to receive tax breaks as I did when I worked in Kiryat Shmona and Dimona, then they should have to pay their real arnona.
5. Israel's right
Naftali ,   Israel   (05.23.12)
The reason they have the tax breaks is to get people o move there. It is an incentive. You can give an incentive to move to one place and not another. Some places in the north have breaks on arnona some don't. The court is wrong. This is not discrimination this is a country getting people to live in places that they otherwise would not. To # 4 well said.
6. Give tax breaks only to those that serve
jason white ,   afula, israel   (05.23.12)
or have served in the security forces of Israel. In uniform defending the state, not national service. That way we will not discriminate against anyone. There are non Jews that defend Israel and Jews that do not.
7. First they have to pay taxes
Zev ,   Israel   (05.23.12)
8. Israeli courts racist against jews
daniel ,   IL - TA   (05.23.12)
hey our lefties in the court can defend and grant rights to muslims and arabs, however, they do not seem it fit to keep them by the same standards or allow jes to build anywhere they want or steal anything they see like the bedouins. ERGO... the israeli courts are composed of jewhating racists
9. Good deal
Martin ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.23.12)
I agree with the tax break. It will boost the economy of the villages exempt from taxes and stimulate jobs. One of the problems in the Arab communities is that they have almost no land to expand upon. That leaves little space for natural development and forces them to build illegal additions. Arabs are citizens of Israel and should be treated with equality and respect. The suggestion of having them move to Lebanon is just as outrageous as forcing Americans back to Europe.
10. tax breaks for what? Our courts need an overhall.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (05.23.12)
11. Opposition to Tax Breaks
Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville,MD USA   (05.23.12)
The hate filled hearts who would deny such tax breaks to the Arab Israeli citizens of the Jewish state do no one any favor. Equal justice under the law must be clearly defined and applied to all in Israel.
12. #11 you are right
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.23.12)
If the tax breaks apply only to income (and are not new transfer payments) this is a reasonable decision. As it is now, the Israeli government abandons the Arab sector so that a law abiding Arab is a fool, while the government supports the criminals who don't pay taxes and steal land. The government should give tax breaks on income only, and in parallel apply building laws, zoning laws and tax collections with the "Iron Fist" that Barak and Aharonovitch reserve for the Jews of Judea and Samaria. As you say: no more anti-jew discrimination, equal justice for all.
