31. #25 Those acts were despictable
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.24.12)
They were much like what happens in the United States on a daily basis and we do not act like America.
32. Amnesty Goes for The Low-Hanging Fruit
Frankie Littlehammer ,   New Herstal, Texas   (05.24.12)
Saddam killed hundreds of thousands, and the Assads killed tens of thousands, but Amnesty criticizes Israel for killing a few terrorists and the human shields they use. Australia and other nations are criticized for balking at accepting refugees, but why doesn't Amnesty criticize the nations that people want to flee? Going for the low-hanging fruit, the really bad guys are hopeless anyway - but this one-sided criticism makes the bad guys look better.
33. stupid immoral naive group accepted saudi $$ anti-democratic

34. 1914-2-2012 So many faces.
Kevin John Lee ,   Glasgow/UK   (05.24.12)
I would like someone to inform me about. when after the 1st WW Britain handed all of the land east of the Jordan river to the Hashemites to be formed into a Nation, just where was the outcry, and if! Israel had lost the land in tbe 1948 war would the Palastinians have taken up arms to liberate ! the land from the Arab conquers, and have we all ! forgoten what amnesty said about Gamal Nassers lockdown of Gaza until after the 1967 war,OR did they actually say anything, but there again maybe just maybe there was no such organisation back then, but the UN?.Theres a different kinda anti !! now not I hasten to say, against the Jews ! only Israel. Shalom L" atem.
35. The problem is....
Amy ,   Yale, CT   (05.24.12)
The only outcome of that self righteous' and hypocritical organization's report is that it promotes anti-Semitism. The tragedy is that Israelis themselves participate in this travesty.
36. HOw NGOs get funding? whip up headlines
mea   (05.24.12)
AI will do the same as HRW and in spite of the factthat there are many, many, many other places on the planet that are far, far, far, worse than their fantasy stories of the Jews being bad in their own country, they will HIGHLIGHT Israel knowing that many people, especially Jewish self haters and anti-semites will flood them with donations. I KNOW, because I work in the NGO world of marketing and this is exactly how it is done. They would never make themselves look unpopular by blasting Syria, or any of the Arab spring aftermarket governnents. It is total BS.
37. Amestry Int'l is committing human rights crime
Yaniv ,   Israel   (05.24.12)
as this organization is trivializing the real victims of human rights violations by equalizing Israel's self-defense as human rights violations. Amnesty Int'l has lost its credibility.
38. AI
Roy ,   USA   (05.24.12)
A creditless hypocritical bunch of fools who project their own biases, focusing on what are easy targets, with such little attention paid to those areas of the world where the worst abuses occur- pitiful!
39. we need article exposing Amnesty as pro Arab and anti Israel
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (05.24.12)
Isn't it about time that Amnesty's anti Israel and pro Arab agenda is exposed? How much of their phoney humanistic concern do we have to see until finally some one will write a powerful expose of their obvious agenda: to censure Israel and cover up the Arabs.
40. AI is irrelevant
Steve from Raleigh   (05.24.12)
AI spends 95% of its time condemning the Jews and the other 5% condemning the US and Canada for how they treat convicted felons. No serious person pays any attention to what AI says and hasn't for years.
41. Amnesty International 2012 Report
ltrail ,   United States   (05.24.12)
The article published by Israel News has the article title stating that "Rights group accuses Israel of torture, ....". But the details of the article do not report torture by the State of Israel. Rather, the report denotes the following performed by Hamas and PA: "According to Amnesty, Palestinian security forces torture prisoners and abuse them freely with no ramifications for the perpetrators. Torture methods include beatings, suspension by the wrists or ankles, and forcing victims to stand or sit in painful positions. Amnesty says that four people in Gaza have died in "suspicious circumstances." Morever, in both Gaza and the West Bank civilians continue to be tried in Palestinian military courts, which are not independent. Hamas reportedly staffs these courts with judges and prosecutors without the appropriate education rather than judges appointed by the Palestinian Authority. Amnesty adds that hundreds of Palestinians in the West Bank have been jailed without trial [by Fatah, I presume] for supporting Hamas, while Hamas forces in Gaza have arrested hundreds of Fatah supporters, most of whom were held without being allowed legal counsel, and some of whom were abused. The Amnesty report also says that both the PA and Hamas government continue to quash freedom of speech, association, and assembly. Journalists are subject to harassment and even trial, as are bloggers and other critics.
42. Terrorist Tunnels
ltrail ,   United States   (05.24.12)
What do you call 36 terrorists who died in tunnels trafficking weapons and munitions? A good start.
43. #9 Curious
ltrail ,   United States   (05.24.12)
Thank you for helping all of us to see the whole perspective of the bogus group called Amnesty International. You are absolutely right. Plus the bias is even more illegitimate when one understands that the head of AI is a muslim. (See #8)
44. stupid dumbass talkbackers as usual
(05.25.12)
the AI report addresses the situation in 155 different countries. This article in Ynet only reports their findings about Israel and the Palestinians. So all the comments about ''what about China, Syria '' etc etc display a reading comprehension problem among talkbackers. Idiots.
45. You think Israel should be comparable to Syria and Iran?
Sam ,   Ottawa, Canada   (05.25.12)
Whose side are you on?
46. does anyone really care any more?
Howard Immanuelson ,   US   (05.25.12)
AI hates Israel. Nothing new under the sun. AI has been exposed for what they are many times over -- so who cares what they think?
47. #22 Jennie
Mark Wilson ,   U.S.A.   (05.25.12)
"So you could report back to Amnesty International with verified facts and get "rewarded"... What do you say" Are you suggesting a bribe Jennie...Is that the Jewish way? Shame on you Jennie...
48. #27 Arlene
Mark Wilson ,   U.S.A.   (05.25.12)
"A I should not look to a country that tries to do everything to be fair but still gets slayed for it." Who are you to judge Arlene? That is what A I is there for idiot...
49. #6 Free board??
Aussie Thinker   (05.25.12)
You obviously mean free waterboarding, don't you. Would you be happy for jews to be treated this way in prison?
50. To: No. 49
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.26.12)
Waterboarding is useless and ineffective. Inflicting pain is a poor interrogation technique. Chemicals work much better and, in the case of Israel, have saved many lives. Waterboarding is a waste of time, because a prisoner will admit anything, just to make the torture stop. The object of the exercise is to glean the truth. Israel is remarkably effective at doing precisely that, while causing absolutely no pain or suffering to the terrorist being interrogated. Do you remember the suicide bombing of the nightclub in Indonesia, which claimed so many young Australian lives? Do you know how many such acts Israel has been able to forestall through the use of chemical inducement? By the way, Arabs and Moslems do not waterboard Jews. They just torture them with old-fashioned methods and then kill them. I appreciate the fact that you are rather dense. Free board simply means that prisoners in Israel do not have to buy their own food. I assure you that is not the case in most Arab and Moslem countries. If the incarcerated individual's family does not purchase food for them, they starve. You need to do a great deal of thinking, it seems.
51. Poor Gaza
Norman ,   Minneapolis, MN, USA   (05.26.12)
Gaza is a de facto state at war with Israel. The elected government states that it intends to destroy Israel. When they could, they sent human robots into Israel to kill civilians. I don't know of many people crying when the Allies blocked Germany and Japan and WWII. It is true, however, that in recent years, Israel has been taking away civil liberties and behaving unjustly to Arabs and immigrants. Israelis should know that these recent violations have a lot more influence on world opinion than more basic rationales for Israel's existence and the fact that whatever its problems, its still freer than most other countries in the world. The right and Jewish fundamentalists have done a lot of damage to Israel. You ignore public opinion at your own peril.
52. Imbalanced report
Jane Doe ,   Atlanta USA   (05.28.12)
Israeli "news" (building in Gaza and not allowing prisoners to have visitors and determining not to take in refugees who might be terrorists) takes up 3/4 of this article, while beatings, torture, no trials, etc. in Palestine and by Hamas gets only 2.5 paragraphs. This is what the media purports to be "news," and what "Amnesty International" seeks to have the world believe. Here in the USA, we recognize Israel as both a nation and see the tide moving. We are praying for the peace of Israel!
