Actually I was personally privileged that G-d revealed something of his infinite presence to me some years ago in an amazing visionary experience at the Kotel. I was deeply traumatized by it, even though it was truly wonderful beyond words (and by the way I was stone cold sober at the time) and have never really got over it. As a result I am always aware of being in His presence: sometimes that is not easy. No, I am not crazy. Actually not only am I of sound mind but I am an academic with a doctorate and a strong logical way of thinking. Yes, I did already believe in G-d and I was truly seeking His will for my life and had been through a lot of suffering before that. And I had reached a point where I truly needed to know 100% what He wanted from me and no longer had the emotional strength to continue with what was for me a huge spiritual dilemma. But no way could I ever have begun to imagine the sheer immensity, way beyond words, of what happened to me that particular night. My mind was simply unable to take in such huge immensity. Which actually was the point that G-d was making to me. Actually, if you bother to read the Torah, how can you NOT believe in G-d? For instance, one of the laws He gave the Jewish people was that of shmittah, letting the land lie fallow for one year out of seven. G-d promises that He will provide enough food for the Jews the previous year to last them through the year of shmittah and the year after, before the new crops are ready. Can you seriously imagine a human being creating such a ridiculous commandment?! Not in a million years! And if humans had really invented the mass revelation at Sinai, do you really think that the Jewish people would have been fooled?!: they were there and passed on their memories to their descendants. Had it not happened the way it was recorded in the Torah, there would have been far too many witnesses and their descendants to have pointed that out. You can not believe in G-d all you like, but that doesn't mean He doesn't exist. As I'm sure we'll all find out once our present physical lives are over....

Let's assume there is a god. Why should I worship him? He is almighty. He doesn't need me. He would be a very childish god if he would care. So if he would exist he would judge me by my behaviour on other people. I can't imagine a deity which welcomes Gandhi with the words: "You did not worship me - so go to hell!" If this would be the case god would be evil and should not be worshipped. But I can't find any evidence of god.

After reading the talkbacks of the readers, I think I have an idea of what happens. For some, I have to believe that there was a revelation in Sinai. For others, I have to believe there was a Messiah born in Bethlehem. For others, I have to believe the biggest prophet came from Mecca. For all of them, if I don't believe in what they say I will go to hell, or something equivalent to their religion. And if I believe on what the others say, I will also go to hell (or equivalent). So most of the world is indeed going to hell, as most of the world does not share their beliefs. Please, bring me proofs of which religion is right or I will not believe in your "revelations".
