The "Chosen People" mean just chosen to follow and build a Nation from the Torah, nothing more, nothing less. The reason God 'chose' Abraham is 'so that he will instruct his children... to observe the way of God, to do what is fair and just' (Genesis 18:19). It is not about belief; there were others who believed in God before Abraham, and after. It is about the commitment to teach the way of God, which is treating other people with integrity. So anybody who wishes to walk in that path, and commit to teaching others the way of God of 'doing what is just, loving kindness and walking humbly with God' has done the same thing that Abraham did, and God responds in the same way. 'Man' is created in G-d's Image, not just one nation. We're all in G-d's Image. Choseness means that we received the Torah to bring the message to mankind that there is a Creator who sees and hears and understands His creation, to tell mankind that there are eternal and universal Laws such as the Seven Laws of Noah. Each nation has its purpose and goal. Ours is to sanctify this world and to be a holy people, the living proof of G-d's eternal Covenant with the Children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The various religions or cults can interpret it anyway they want, but mankind once believed in several Gods to suit their beliefs. That evolved into monotheism, which suits the modern day religions, but the next religious evolution will be the revelation that there is no God, only the Universal Mind.

One cannot understand the nature or intent of the creator. Arcane rituals and bizarre costumes have obliterated common sense, decency, and respect around the world. Every group thinks they are endowed by the creator with the only words of truth. Jews KNOW they are REALLY the only ones. A child born and raised in religious isolation, who cares enough to lend a helping hand to his neighbor, is closer to god than every rabbi, cleric, and priest combined.
