1. prosecution failure
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (05.28.12)
Once again the Israel "justice system" failed. Rabbi Elitzur was defamed and harrassed for nearly a year. Weinsten should have acquitted Elitzur based on "no guilt" and he should have explained what warranted an investigation of Elitzur while Leftist Professors and Journalists make what seem to be far graver statments. Weinstein's bland acquittal based on "insufficient evidence" will allow the Israeli police to continue persecuting innocent people.
2. what is incitement?
meir ,   TA   (05.28.12)
If this is a book dealing with Rambam's views on Halacha, why should the book, or the authors be condemned?
3. The government remains silent at PA TV incitement
Tracy W   (05.28.12)
PA TV rents air frequencies from the state of Israel - and then uses PA for the type of programs and ideas that would be completely unacceptable anywhere else in the West. Double standard, indeed. The state pounced on these Jews for no good reason at all - but collects rent for PA TV, regardless of their programs' content. Highlights of PA TV children programs can be seen with translations at Palestinian Media Watch.
4. Smart A.G. He wants to survive his next visit to a hospital
Rivkah   (05.28.12)
If the Rabbis put a curse on him like they did on Ariel Sharon, he might be given the wrong medications to cause a stroke and survive only by a miracle from HaShem.
5. "Rabbi" Elitzur's outstanding TITS
JFT (Jew for Truth) ,   3rd. rock from Sun   (05.28.12)
(Talmud-Induced Terminal Stupidity)
6. What a surprise
Haim ,   TA   (05.28.12)
7. Several Points.
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (05.29.12)
Gedolei HaDor like Rav Elyashiv and Rav Ovadia Yosef publicly condemned the volume. Nonetheless it is an academic tome and the author has the same academic freedom as other scholars. It was never meant to incite, but the media used it to attack the Orthodox Zionists.
8. Instead of "lack of sufficient evidence"
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.29.12)
How about due to lack of a crime? They committed no crime whatsoever and in fact the book was in line with the Geneva Convention and the only crime was the investigation in the first place
9. incitement, intimidation and free speech
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (05.29.12)
There is a thin line between the two. The authors have expressed their opinion of what the Torah has said, that is within their free speech. The state has investigated them for possible incitement, that is their worry. No one died, no one was killed or injured from their book. How about applying the same measurement to the Immans who constantly urge their fellow coreligionists to attack Jews?
10. somewhat confused - can anyone clarify.
Judah ,   jerusalem   (05.29.12)
I have always understood from the many Rabbis I have heard. That according to Halacha, If someone has intent to kill you, you can kill them first. Does this book say something more.
11. normal country?
Reb Yid ,   New York   (05.30.12)
In no other country in the world would saying "It's OK to kill someone" even remotely be considered a criminal offense.
