I am totally convinced that I am no longer functioning in a normal place. The idea that bodies are being released to an "official ceremony" which I am sure will have loads of pomp and calls of praise for the "martyrs" is one that can only bring nausea to anyone who has any kind of logical thinking ability. The only think gained by this "gesture" is that the world again gets to see Israel grovel and act like the party trying to right a wrong!

this is not agesture. Its to get all the arabs out of israel.First the dead ones and next the tibi arabs and after that the disloyal ones.
4. Gesture????
Dave ,   NYC   (05.30.12)
If this is the kind of gesture that makes the PAs mouth water and Israel is willing to make it then the lunatics are obviously running the asylum. I would expect such a gesture from traitors like Livni & Olmert.

11. Is this the right move?
Daniel ,   TA   (05.30.12)
I wonder if transferring these bodies will bring about the positive PR Israel would like and needs. I suspect, the Arabs will celebrate these "martyrs" and hand out candy claiming Israel is weak. As only a weak regime would give these bodies back. Ethically I agree they should be buried with their people. But the reality is they should have been cremated and spread deep over the sea; denied entry in Jannah.
12. Any else tired of these gestures?
Nathan ,   Los Angeles, USA   (05.30.12)
Abbas continues to condemn Israel, the Jews, and Bibi at every turn, and yet it seems like every week I hear about new "gestures" to a man who has broken faith with the Oslo Accords and refuses to sit and negotiate. Meanwhile Israeli victims are forced to relive their pain as these terrorists get better treatment in prison and now a hero's welcome in Ramallah. Can anyone explain this insanity?

Chas ,   Canada   (05.30.12)
A more meaningful gesture would be for Israel to stop building new settlements on Palestinian land and for the army to arrest settlers who kill and maim Palestinians and burn their fields. Indeed Israel has the right to defend itself against attacks --but then so do the Palestinians...

18. Gesture? Are they kidding me?
jerusalem   (05.30.12)
What do we need with dead bodies? What woulod REALLY count as a goodwill gesture is something like releasing some of them Palestinians in administrative detention. Those people who the state of 'israell' doesnt even have any cold hard proof on. your 'goodwill gesture' sucks like you!
19. To: No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.12)
Well, apart from the fact that familieis of the dead terrorists might appreciate having the remains of their "heroes," we aren't going to release the live murderers. We've released enough of them already. Most have gone back to their reprobable terrorist ways, haven't they? Administrative detention is fully legal, and is necessary to protect the identities of Israeli sources. If you think that Israel "sucks," I do wonder why you continue to live there. Please leave. No one sent for you, and no one is forcing you to stay. Why don't you pursue greener pastures elsewhere? Perhaps a country that will appreciate your primitivity, violence and propensity to terror. Lots of candidates there, and -- as luck would have it -- nearly all of them Arab or Moslem. I'm sure you'll do just fine in Iran or Syria. Or Saudi Arabia. Et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseum. For that matter, you'll probably find welcoming arms in Europe. So leave. No one is pressuring you to stay, that's for sure. And don't even think about starting on that old, tired, phony jeremiad about Israel being your "homeland." It's not. It's MY homeland. And, quite frankly, I don't mind seeing you move your sorry ass someplace else.
20. Do we get Ron Arad
(05.30.12)
Zecharya Baumel, Zvi Feldman, Yehuda Katz, Guy Hever or Majdy Halabi? Why does Israel NEVER receive "gestures"?
21. corpses are the only thing
A ,   Belgium   (05.30.12)
the "palestinians" should get from Israel. No money, no water, no electricity, no medical care , no nothing. Just rotting corpses.
22. another completely gratuitous & stupid gesture
rick ,   walnut creek   (05.30.12)
the p.a. does not appreciate ANY gestures, concessions, etc. there is absolutely no reason to make these gestures. WHEN HAS THERE EVER BEEN AN EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE TO ISRAEL?
23. #20
(05.30.12)
Israel gets Ron Arad when Israel gives the four Iranian diplomats arrested in South Lebanon and currently held in an Israeli prison The deal for the release of Ron Arad has been clearly spelt out to the Israeli government on numerous occasions.
24. On the bright side ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.30.12)
Who wants the corpses of terrorist filth despoiling our precious Eretz Israel? They never deserved burial in the first place. They should have been tossed in the desert someplace, where the carrion birds and predators would have made short work of their vile remains. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, jackals to jackals.
25. #24: Noone ever asked you to keep them, was your choice

and keeping some since 1975 in fact. Why dont u give those suggestions to your people in charge of this. still waiting for my reply to #19 to be published to whoever moderates talkbacks. If it was denied, then it must have been a surprising talkback, especially my part that addressed uncovering faults in the way replies are being moderated
