it is not only Israili-Syrian confrontation. But new policy. France also supported Syria for long during Syrian collaboration with PKK who found shelter in Syria for more than 25 years. Main issue here is to break Syria-Iran alliance by handingover a Sunni islamic revolution in Syria, If Sunni muslims took over Syria they will detach from Shii Iran thus paving way for military attack at iran.
