I see what you mean, Sarah B. Value is only given to the elite (I hesitate to employ another term), the rest are untermenschen. I may be ignorant but I am sure I have heard this approach to dividing humanity somewhere before. Maybe just my imagination.

We can't blame these people for wanting to escape their own poor countries and have a better future. All through history, people have moved around for the same reason. However, we finally have our own Jewish state after waiting 2000 years, and letting in so many non-Jews would put an end to our dream. They have to be sent back home or to some other place. Sadly, the truth is that probably no country wants them. We have enough with the Arab problem here, we don't need more trouble.
33. Accepting Refugees does NOT mean Immigration
Sheri ,   Haifa, Israel   (06.01.12)
There seems to be a misunderstanding - accepting refugees within our borders does not mean accepting these refugees as immigrants or citizens. It should not even mean accepting them as temporary workers. The responsibility for refugees is an international responsibility. For example, there are two (soon three) refugee camps in Kenya. The inhabitants do not work in Kenya and do not get permits to live outside the refugee camps. The expenses for running the camps are covered by the UN and various NGOs. Israel needs to turn to the UN and either ask that a refugee camp be set up here or that the refugees be sent to refugee camps in other countries. It is not the best solution, but then, when wars are ongoing, there is no best solution.
34. Don’t focus on the problem, think about the solution!
Mikael ,   Gothenburg   (06.02.12)
These refugees (illegal infiltrators) can be a help for a win – win deal: What are the overall problems of Israel? It is occupation, settlements and a losing acceptance in the world of Israeli policies and action towards the Palestinians and its neighbors. Israel need to show more mercy, and a civilized way to people: African and Palestinian and so on. It needs to vacate some settlements without going in to a national tantrum. In Scandinavia we are careful with feelings. That is why we work with some care. Here is a way: The government can buy out settlers in an unacceptable settlement. They can do generous deals (the state is not poor or in lack of land). They can install immigrants in the houses, giving food, shelter, education and so on. When in then comes to leave they can sell the houses expensively to Palestinians and get back some good cash, instead of losing big investments. A win for all involved! Then it’s only to make a good and fair peace and go living in harmony and good faith with everyone. Be brave!
