Well Ohad, we never claim to be the best. However, the track record of the British Army is impeccable and the Indian Army has fought against Pakistan and China, foes anytime more competent then syria, egypt or the unarmed women and children of the occupied territories. So, don't live in a dream world.

An army is a reflection of its society. The soldiers in the field reflect the values and attributes of its youth. So too do the commanders and political leadership reflect the attitudes of society. I feel Israel relies excessively on technology and is infected with an arrogance that affects its entire society. I'm not sure there is sufficient attachment to values of sacrifice and stoicism that are essential to a successful army within a successful society. I hope that if the day comes, I am proved wrong.

#34 We both know that IDF does far more than checkpoints which is a necessary evil when your neighbors want you dead.IDF has far more experience since WW2 than any other army in the world including those of the US and UK. Only a tiny part of UK:s forces have been to Afghanistan and Iraq and both the US and the UK made many mistakes their. #35 IDF:s track record is second to none and IDF:s foes have also included Russia and today Iran. IDF has done far more to avoid civilian casualties than the US, UK, something that for example UK commanding officer in Afghanistan Col. Richard Kemp openly admitted. The British have slaughtered millions of innocent civilians around the world in the name of their empire so I don't give much for British "civilization".
