Modesty clothes, respect for tradition and preserving faith are values shared by all nations that fear G-D. The Kwaitis are not totally wrong.

7. I am Against the Ruling
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem   (06.05.12)
There should be separation of the state and religion , and religion should certainly remain a private matter at most . The country's ruler and his government are free to adhere to their religion, Islam, but under no circumstances should they have the right to impose religion on people by force.

11. # 5 We are Jews
Keren, IL-BR   (06.05.12)
And our law is above the secular law. If you want to live here, better behave. If you think this land is too strict, just leave. If someone disrespects the forefathers of my religion and happily endorses any heavey punishment. The Kwaitis are right.
12. #4, #11 karen - we are Jews...
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.05.12)
#4, #11 karen - we are Jews... ...and therefore you are wrong. Very wrong. Judaism does not support heavy punishment for speaking one's mind; it in fact encourages it. Judaism does not encourage unbalanced punishment. Even use of the death penalty is very restricted, with payment of fines the preferred solution. Even you should realize this. Both you and the Kuwaitis are wrong. Totally wrong. BTW: What is "our law"? Is it your interpretation of the law? Hopefully "our law" is the same as secular law in those things that matter, such as life and death decisions. But there are secular laws which take precedence over "our laws", such as torah students must be supported by others. These kinds of "our laws" are interpretations, opinions, not set in black and white.
13. #11 YOU ARE A JEW BUT KEEP IT TO
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (06.06.12)
yourself. You don't see me asking you to become less of a Jew. I suggest you stay on your side of fence and take care of your own personal problems. My relationship with God is between me and God. Stop chest pounding that you are a Jew. That is your business not the rest of us. My father was part of Hagana and fought for this land. I have more respect for this land than you can ever imagine. I just have no respect for people who push their ideas onto others.
