32. not rotten to core: government screw up!
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (06.06.12)
it was the government that got them into this mess by giving them the land to build upon. Now it is the settlers that are being blamed for this? Come on now, sweet heart, let's get some clarity and blame the idiots in the government who gave them the land and not the poor settlers who bought the apartments and are not being evicted!
33. Nice Photo......
Marcus   (06.06.12)
Excuse my ignorance. I thought the state of Israel was created as a safe haven for Holocaust survivors, not fat slugs who live in illegal settlements on stolen Palestinian land.
34. # 1 Mary why is it that every
Stan ,   Israel   (06.06.12)
Right Wing leader in Israel changes his tune when he becomes prime minister ? By the way, you forgot to mention Sharon who did more to settle occupied land than anybody else in Israel. Why did he "change his mind"?
35. To all the right wing loonies
Stan ,   Israel   (06.06.12)
Your ranting and raving are not going to help . You are foaming at the mouth and it's pathetic. The ONLY way to guarantee the future existance of Israel as a Jewish State, negotiations and withdrawal from most of Yosh.
36. To Stan #35:
Aviela ,   MIGRON, ISRAEL   (06.06.12)
Oh, so Israel should withdraw from Yosh... why? Because the withdrawl was such a resounding, peaceful success? You are accusing me of foaming at the mouth because I'm demanding my democratic right to due process? Because I find it mandatory to leave the only alternate North-South road of the country safe?
37. High time to show some resolve, Mr. Netanyahu.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.06.12)
You have the majority of Israelis behind you, including us in the Galut, Mr. Netanyahu. Straighten out the broken house and many of us will come home. We miss the good life Israel once was.
38. The one that dominates

39. Coalition discipline
zbrk ,   Eshkolot   (06.06.12)
While I generally disagree with the Ulpana situation, we must remember that the government is a parliamentary system, where a coalition governs by consensus of its members. The person in charge determines the position the coalition should take. Most times members are free to do what they want. Other times, they face choices. Here, the choice is to follow coalition rules or lose their considerable perks--but they never lose their rights to vote their conscience, and they do not lose their rights as members of the Knesset. Those who feel strongly enough about their principles will vote them, and let their ministries be awarded to others. Those whose principles are only for show will either absent themselves from the vote, or vote according to the demands of the coalition leader. Both these alternatives indicate either weak principles or cowardice. But the potential loss of political power confirms the motivation of the MK, while at the same time indication his or her strength of character.
40. Right-wing whining talkbacks
Michael ,   Haifa   (06.06.12)
Suddenly the right-wing talkbacks here have become a source of entertainment for sane, normal, decent people here.
41. To: No. 40
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.06.12)
Care to tell me what is sane and normal about uprooting decent Jewish people from land which was acquired by Israel in the course of fighting a defensive war? Care to tell me what is sane and normal about honoring spurious claims of ownership that could have been brought -- but weren't -- until AFTER beautiful Ulpana arose out of barren, abandoned and unused land? I'm glad you find this horrible ordeal for the Jews to be "entertaining." Perhaps you will feel somewhat different when you are uprooted from your home in Haifa by some fictitious claim of ownership by an Arab who lived in Haifa until he voluntarily left. Wouldn't take much proof, either, would it? Ten people who will swear on their mothers' graves that the family had lived there "forever" and that ownership papers and deeds were somehow "lost," even though no record of ownership exists in the records that date back to Ottoman times. No matter. The government will set up a caravilla for you somewhere. Or a tsrif. Won't THAT be fun! I, for one, would find it enormously entertaining.
42. 41 "Decent Jewish people are not mass murderers
lydia ,   Brisbane   (06.06.12)
Nor are decent Jewish people land thieves or Palestinian tormentors. The fictitious claimants are therefore you who claim to be descendants of Christ and his Cristian followers. Israel unilaterally declared its Jewish State along the borders of the Partition Plan, as is enshrined in UN181 and Israel decl, of Indep. The land outside thee borders, not a blade of grass not a grain of sand belongs to a horde of Asiatic/est. Euro migrant fakes. no matter what or who swears to the contrary;.
43. they are not extremists they are just people who don't want
(06.06.12)
to be forced out of their home/
44. To #12
JM   (06.06.12)
It is so easy for people that are NOT living in this country to tell us what to do?, are you Jewish? if you are, you should make Alyah very soon before it's too late for the Jewish living in France. Once you are here you'll change your mind. So first take care of your own safety and come HOME=ISRAEL
45. To: No. 42
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.06.12)
It is the ersatz "Palestinians" who are the land thieves, chica. They came charging out of the Hejaz in the Western Arabian desert, spurred on by the British, shortly after World War I. They have no history in the region other than that. They only found the land desirable after the Jews of the First and Second Aliyot lovingly reclaimed it, and turned the barren and desolate place into a paradise. That's one thing. The other thing is that the Arabs were the aggressors in six wars -- and lost all six, including in 1967, when they lost Judea and Samaria. Cry me a river, baby. War sucks when you lose, doesn't it?
46. @45 look up the word ersatz u r misusing it!
