1. "Preserves the Rule of Law"?????
MelekhShaul ,   Jerusalem   (06.06.12)
Which law? International Law? Nope the very existence of the settlements breaches that. Israeli Law? Nope - to put the settlements under Israeli Law means de facto annexation of the West Bank, something that no Israeli government has been or is willing to do. The Law as in the Torah? Nope - if the Torah's 'laws' are encapsulated in the 10 Commandments, then the settlers and the various Israeli authorities that function within the occupation to protect the settlers are in breach of too many of the Commandments to make them relevant or preserve them. Bibi's law? - Yes that's it, that's the one that says 'I'm the boss and I'll do anything to preserve me.'
2. Which Ministers?
Baruch Norman ,   Bat Yam   (06.06.12)
If the new ministerial committee includes Mr Barak, then its another little Bibi scheme, a bit of fluffy Bibispin to make you think that his closest political friend and colleague has been circumvented, when he hasn't.
3. NO Arab has proved ownership. LEAVE THESE BEAUTIFUL JEWISH
Unfathomable ,   INSANITY   (06.06.12)
HOMES WHERE THEY ARE. It is mind boggling that Bibi would destroy the homes just because some Arab SAYS (after he left it 20 years ago and after Yesh Din convinced him to claim the land) but has nothing to prove he owns the land. It's complete BS but the court and Bibi buys it??? This is exactly why Americans don't want to move to Israel. You are all NUTS!!! How can anybody live like that.
4. When it comes to settlements, I trust Bibi more than Barak
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (06.06.12)
This move should have happened a long time ago.
5. To # 1.Yes indeed ! INTERNATIONAL LAW
FO ,   Belgium   (06.06.12)
There is just ONE law. "The Mandate for Palestine" voted by all the 51 members, without exception, by the League of Nations, the 24th of July 1922. The "Mandate" gave the Jews the IRREVOCABLE RIGHT to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights, a right unaltered in International Law and valid to this day, and reaffirmed by Article 80 of the Charter of the United Nations. Even UNSC resolution 242, is based on the "Mandate for Palestine". Any doubts about it ? Read articles written by the author of resolution 242, Prof. Eugene Rostow. I suggest two of them: "The Future of Palestine" and "Resolved: are the settlements legal?" Both are available on Internet.
6. #1 rule of law
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.06.12)
The law they are referring to is the one that allows the government to legalize 60000 illegal houses built on stolen land because they are owned by Arabs, but make it necessary to destroy 6 legally built Jewish homes because they are owned by Jews.
7. It is beyond me to understand Bibi's insistence..
Keren ,   IL-BR   (06.06.12)
...in destroying few Jewish buildings. I can not understand, because ,no matter what, the principle of such destruction is wrong. The whole historical Israel belongs to Jews.Period.This is the correct principle, otherwise ,if it was just to get pieces of land,we could had been settled in Uganda. What is the difference after all? Israel belong to Jews;Arabia to Arabs.Period! And it is this the correct principle politicians must follow and fight for. We don't know what promises these politicians sign with foreigners behind the eyes of Israel ,but what I know is that they can't do that. I don't think that by being voted, they have a carte blanche to destroy Israel. This must end and Israel's politicians must walk in the correct path, atacched to Principles, because otherwise ,they will always sink us in caos after caos.
8. If I understand ,Bibi, AGAIN, is proposing...
Keren ,   IL-BR   (06.06.12)
to give fantasies in charge of concretness. Something like dismounting the cement made buildings in Ulpana and remounting them as a lego somewhere else. It enerves me seeing Bibi treating people as retards.Maybe he is the real retard. Is he proposing to "take out"Barak of the affair of spoiling settlements issues ,by promissing to put another minister instead to do the job,but CONCRETELY legalizing all of those structures ,clum, nothing, zero! Is that it??? What's that?Bibi really think people are that stupid?
9. In the United States ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.06.12)
... this is called putting the fox in charge of the henhouse. Which means, basically, don't count on eggs for breakfast or chicken for dinner. I never thought I would say this, but here goes: Netanyahu has to go. He has failed the Jewish people, and is unsuited to be the Jewish State's prime minister. We need to look elsewhere. Somewhere to the right.
