Noodles ,   Coney Island   (06.06.12)
Whoever would have thought he was to become a sub-contractor for Bibi's settlement enterprise?
2. This is perhaps the time to materialize the words of the...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (06.06.12)
... "prince-of-peace", as the late Mr. Yitzhaq Rabin, been known worldwide: to ensure that the Jordan Valley, in the widest sense of the term, as he expressed himself in October 1995 at his very last speech at the Knesset, remains under Israel's rule. This is perhaps the time to begin to set up the new urban center that will expand into a city, מבואות ירדן (m'voot jarden, The Approaches of the Jordan), to be located in the Adam bridge area, between Beit Sh'an in the north, and Jericho in the south. This urban center/city will convey a clear statement to Jews, worldwide, and to the rest of the world that we, Jews, are here to stay. And, of course, it will serve the needs of the villages in Jordan Valley region - kibbutzim, moshavim and community villages - that presently are not being met by a regional urban center. This is, in short, to turn words into deeds, isn't it?

4. Settlement to get 850 new housing units - UNTIL WHEN?
Allan ,   PT   (06.06.12)
HOW SOON will this PM or the next one expel the Jews - and only the Jews - from these new units and hand it over on a gold platter to the Arabs?
5. Many points:
Keren ,   IL-BR   (06.06.12)
Israel should do as other nations do:lend some bucks to where you want to have an influence and then, bingo!you start commanding other's countries and peoples! Israel could start lending some bucks to some EU countries which are needing that badly, as Spain,Grece,Portugal....and slowly slowly to all doomed Europe. The US also ,soon will fall in pieces because the US money is an ilusion.US is a weak country without coverage. That said,I would like to say to them to mind their own business in their internal affairs. They need more Israel than Israel needs them in many senses. Now,about these 850 units. It simple does not make sense. To build 850, no sane mind has to destroy 5.It is crazy this thing! It simply does not make sense! And the last point:Egypt will deshonour its treaty with Israel,it is just a matter of time;Jordan...well,I don't know...but anyway, what I want to say is that the Road Map of Pieces HAS ENDED. They have to find something else to resolve arab problems,as for example send them to huge Arabia. Israel can not keep being a sacrifice for sick nations and the first to stop this desease of them toward us,are us ourselves.
6. #1, Noodles...you kill me with laughter !
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (06.06.12)
7. Done according to international law
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (06.06.12)
I don't know which 'International Law' the detractors of Israel claim to be violated.Strangely, they never say. The only applicable International Law that I know about is the Mandate for Palestine and today's decisions are completely in tune with it.Jewish settlement in the whole of the Palestine Mandate area is being facilitated and the rights of the Arabs in respect to private property have been respected. Mr Netanyahu has shrewdly got it absolutely right. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
8. Palestinian Authority: Israel is sabotaging the peace effort

10. New Housing
Lynn ,   Knoxville, USA   (06.06.12)
Talk and proclamations are cheap, this housing declaration made by Netanyahu out of political necessity., made knowing that these units are likely never to be built. As one would say in the states, "would you buy a used car from Netanyahu?"
11. NOT good enough, NO Jewish homes to be stolen, not 1.

14. Yet another israeli violation of international law!

16. wisdom and strategy
Iletzter ,   TA- Israel   (06.07.12)
Well the 850 new houses as a very small dosage of dope- which the PM will probably not cary out. However , he should have made it 8500. Now- I suppose the setllers should vacate the houses - however no Palestinian should be allowed in. Therefore , the houses will become worthless and will eventually sell it back to the settlers at it's real value and not inflated worth.
17. In this "Democratic" LOL! state when will the Right-wing
Allan ,   PT   (06.07.12)
be allowed to air their own media instead of listening to Left-wing lies and lies and lies? And when will the Right-wing be allowed to have judges in the Court System. SO MUCH FOR DEMOCRACY

Chaim ,   Israel   (06.07.12)

23. if the "palestinians" hadn't delayed the negotiations
tom ,   toronto, canada   (06.07.12)
if abu mazzen and his cronies had negotiated in good faith, none of this would have been necessary, and they would already have their own state of fatahland. it's their own fault!
24. ps:
J.G. ,   Israel   (06.07.12)
..... well, you know, i like to live in the city, but is a good offer, i will think about it. thank you.
25. Settlements to get new housing
Oskar Prager ,   Petach Tikva   (06.07.12)
Mr. Mofaz of Kadima was absolutely right when he called Mr. Netanyahu a liar. Netanyahu glibly makes promises to build new housing in the territories purely to appease the rightwing of his own party the Likud, but he damn well knows that they will never be built - probably not even in his lifetime. After all, everyone knows that most of the evicted people from Gush Kativ are still now living in caravans seven years down the road and no sign of ever having a brick built house again anywhere even inside the Medinat Israel. So frankly I dont believe Netanyahu and everything will be done by all people with a long memory to ensure that he will never again be elected to any office. The Israeli society does not need liars and cheats ! We have already more than enough of them, see Ohlmert and Sharon. Were I a resident to be evicted I would pack my bags and go back to my country of origin and to hell with the State of Israel. Oskar Prager, Petach Tikva
26. Why not build in the Moabite area?
Efrat Shon   (06.07.12)
If we think we can build in Judea and Samaria, why not in Jordan and Sinai, that were too sacred lands? Let's stop the hypocrisy, people. We know all this is all about cheap houses and real state. 500.000 crazy fanatical are destroying the Zionist dream, damaging Jewish morale and ruining our reputation as a grand nation.
27.  Pain of victims is still unbearable!
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (06.07.12)

29. Still waiting...
Jason ,   Tel Aviv   (06.07.12)
Still waiting for more housing starts within the '67 borders. Is the gov't saying to us that affordable housing can only be found in the occupied territories???
