the government needs to leave the manufactures alone it is not there place to demand the price cuts to private business. If prices are 30 to 50% more one may to lower it would be making it VAT free. that would bring it down to 14 to 34%. people need to take care of themselves stop this crap that we need to government to come and save US. another way to lower the cost would be buy wants on sale also. the other manufactures see there stuff not selling they will cut there prices. let the free market be FREE.

Prices here are at least 100% higher that comparable products in the US. It is not uncommon to get a big bottle of 45 SPF sunscreen for less than $10 (Wall-green) 38 NIS, while here I often pay 80 shekels or more. This should not be and the government should act if prices don't come down radically.

Try Timruken Shaul for lowest prices in Jerusalem, the big chain pharmacies are pure rip offs. When they have their sales then their price comes down to normal, but the sales are come ons to gouge the unaware customers.

For years cancer from sunworshipping has been exposed ad nauseum and still kids get allowed to play full summerdays in the sun with terrible resulting burns. David is absolutely right!!! Sunscreen in Israel is at least double the price of the USA. I have bought 45 SPF waterproof sunscreen in the USA for one-fourth of the price of 30 SPF in Israel. For that reason, I will only buy sunscreen in the USA and NOT buy sunscreen in Israel.

All over-the -counter pharmaceutical items are at least double the price in Israel including vitamin supplements, over-the-counter medication, mouthwash, and dental floss. The price of dental floss in Israel is triple to quadruple the price of dental floss in the USA. One of the reasons for the enormous prices in Israel is the high import tax and the VAT (value added tax) which there is none in the USA. Each state in the USA has its own state tax which on many pharmaceutical items there is no tax at all. Just like sunscreen, if the price of dental floss was lowered in Israel, more Israelis would buy dental floss and take better care of their teeth. At the present time with the enormous prices in Israel, it is better to request from family and friends to bring you these kinds of items from the USA.

How about a dispenser machine at Entrance to each beach or a sunscreen man who will ply the beaches instead of selling 'artic'. It's been done in s of France 1 shekel a hit.....
