Was outside bringing in groceries with my kids who saw it first. Looked very localized over Gush Etzion, so it's very, very intriguing to hear of similar reports from the north too. Strong white light with a conical cloud and something spiralling near the source. I thought it was fireworks from a concert (Fried, if anybody is curious), but now I'm sure it was not. Struck me as being similar to a small solid fuel rocket motor broken off from a larger missile, - no guidance so it just whips around a lot. Very strange.

This was no meteor. This was the real deal. It made no sound. I am as skeptical as they come to things like this, But last night at the same time over Jerusalem 4 orange light were hovering parallel to the old city then another object closer to us in Har Homa floated about 2 Kms above the ground flew for a few hundred meters east then flew straight up. Ever since I came to live in Israel I have seen "weird" lights in the sky... either from experimental artifacts from Israel Aerospace Industries, satellites, of UFO's, including lights that are too close over the horizon to be planets. I hope they are there for a positive reason.
