Pedophilia is a crime because pedophiles hurt innocent children, while homosexuals are simply looking for consenting love between adults just like heterosexuals and most humans do! And for your information, according to well known statistics the large majority of pedophiles are among so called heterosexuals! You seriously need to correct the way you view people who are not like yourself.

The amazingly simple and bloody obvious answer to your question is no, not ok. It's not ok because: Acting on pedophillic impulses is A: quite rightly against the law.B: because it is an extremely damaging form of abuse done to a minor that hasn't got the emotional tools to give or withhold consent, and which adversely affects normal development in a child. How this possibly compares to a lifestyle of two consenting adults finding happiness and fulfillment in what they do, is beyond me. But hey, I am sure you can bring up some fine example of religious absolute morality that answers all (invariably unsatisfactory, but still...).

Paqid is right. First of all, educate yourself to use the term "pedophile" in its right context. You are all refering to pedosexuals....not pedophiles. The etymology of pedophilia is "one who loves children." and as such every normal being should. But a pedosexual is a harmful criminal. If you do not ascribe to my teachings than by default you should call a homosexual a "homophile". Homosexual and pedosexual have sexual connotations.

Ah I see. I didn't know he had a website. Googled his name, came across his site, and quit it after I read the words 'Ribi Yehoshua'. Quite frankly, however, I don't particularly care wether he's Jewish or not (although it is a relief, granted). I know enough Jewish congregation members who think that way, as well as lots of Christians who embrace he same rotten way of thinking, and you don't want to see what's on tv over here sometimes. It is enough to turn your stomach. I never understood people who claim to be Jewish, and then continue on about Jesus as the Messiah while using the Hebrew lexicon. I don't mind anyone who is a Christian as long as that can coincide with respecting my tradition, and if you desperately want to be Jewish, there's always Giur. But why both? It smacks of religious shopping to me.

It was the mighty US government which gave the city its headstart over other American cities. During WW2, it became the habit of the US military to do dishonorable discharges for gaydom in a small number of places, of which San Fran was one. Now, you can bet most of these people were quite reluctant to return to their hometowns after the stigma of that, so the gay community of SF got its start. And given the tolerant atmosphere of the city, where else would the hippy movement get going? Now if I happened to be American, there's two cities I'd prefer above all others: SF or Seattle. The world can learn a lot from all this, to live and live.

You say Paqid is right, but it is clearly obvious he interprets the term 'pedophile' in exactly the same terms you accuse me and the rest of us of. I love children. I heve recently been blessed with a little daughter of my own. We can go into semantic word splitting, but you do have to agree with me that the word pedophile carries a certain connotation, which is what we were responding to. Would you let, for instance, a self-styled pedophile near your children on the premises that it only means 'loving children?' I wouldn't. I love my child too much to take the risk.

I did'nt say ANYTHING about this "paqid's writing" , only about this "person" the term "pedophile" is commonly used to describe a child abuser . Not correct ? It is often pointed out that today many people don't observe shabbat or kashrut, and the Reform Movement has even officially okayed ignoring them. So why not allow gays? Here's why allowing homosexuality is more problematic 1) Shabbat and kashrut are just rituals meant to remind you of the morals to follow, but homosexuality is an actual moral offense! And the Torah points out that all people are forbidden to do it. Not just jews! 2) The reason given to allow gays is that it's natural. If it's natural than the Torah was immoral the day it was written! You could change jewish law in other cases and argue historical context. That is not an option with the gay argument.

LGBTQ people don't wake up one morning a decide to be gay. Pedophiles decide to harm childern instead of getting help. How can gay people harm childern. I find gay parents love their childern more because they know how it feels to not be loved by their own parents and by people around them or being different to the "Ideal world"

The accurate word there is "animal," and more specifically, the animal they most often cite is the chimp. Chimps also sometimes kill and eat their own young. Dogs urinate in public and pigeons sometimes poop on people. That doesn't mean people should do something just because chimps, dogs or pigeons do it. We're supposed to be people, not chimps, dogs, pigeons or other animals. (On the other hand, sometimes Ultra-Orthodox Khareidim also throw poop at people. Mah la-asot?) Some people strive to become better people. Homos strive to degrade back to chimps in a Sodom world and see their mission as dragging us down to their level. Tali's article is utter rubbish. Gay's in Tel Aviv are both proud Israelis and in many cases very proud of their Jewish identity and religion. This generalization is trite, hateful and inaccurate. As one who was a member of Sha'ar Zahav in SF, the community is vibrant, intelligent, and both proud of it's American Jewish roots, as well as the American Jewish community's ties to Israel. The problem with religious Gays in Israel is that there is less acceptance of them by religious institutions . They can be as proud as possible of their religious feelings , but to no avail to the religious establishment .
